"What a joke, a re ring being priced at one million Dark Pills, Qin Dongting, you’re being far too arrogant," the Dark Heavenly Master raised an eyebrow, his face full of disdain.
You should know, if it weren’t for soone asking him, he would never have stayed at a place like the Ten Thousand Treasures Pavilion to trouble two re rcenary beginners.
For so reasons, he couldn’t directly strike to kill or injure Qin Dongting, the only thod was to take away his ring.
His mission today was to seize the ring on Qin Dongting’s hand, thus disqualifying him from participating in the rcenary Newcor King Competition this ti.
In this way, it would fulfill "that person’s" purpose.
"Based only on the ’character’ on this ring, I’m just pledging it. Agree or not, it’s up to you to decide," Qin Dongting didn’t even frown, now that things had co to this, he blad no one.
It was his choice to follow Compass down to the Ten-Thousand Treasures Pavilion, and despite his caution, having already sensed sothing unusual, the thought of Yue Jinghua possibly showing a look of dissatisfaction made his feet involuntarily follow Compass.
"Character?" Compass was greatly surprised as he took the ring and looked it over under the lamp light, going full circle until he saw the character on the ring, Compass couldn’t help but exclaim, "There really is a character? The ’Bo’ character."
Bo, why would there be a ’Bo’ character on a ring that symbolizes the recomndation qualification for the rcenary Newcor King Competition?
Compass might not know, but upon hearing that character, the Dark Heavenly Master’s expression beca sowhat unnatural.
The older generation of rcenaries, especially those who frequented Geyue Town, all knew that thirty years ago, the legendary King of rcenaries from the Canglong Continent, rcenary King Bo Sai, was just a sixteen-year-old youth when he first set foot in Geyue Town.
It was also here that he won the top spot in the rcenary Newcor King Competition of that year, thus starting his legendary life.
Back then, the young girl who accompanied the rcenary King Bo Sai was only thirteen or fourteen years old. If he rembered correctly, that young girl’s last na was Qin.
The ring of rcenary King Bo Sai, which symbolized the start of his life of glory, ended up so coincidentally in Qin Dongting’s hands, the Dark Heavenly Master naturally understood the implication.
"Is this ’character’ weighty enough? Or should I say, is it weighty enough to deal with the person behind you?" Qin Dongting’s face darkened as he questioned, word by word.
He is not a talkative person, but at a critical mont, if others are unwilling to let him go and even involve his partner, he would certainly not let that person off easily.
The Dark Heavenly Master’s eyes flickered, and he hesitated upon glancing at that ring.
Qin Dongting was Bo Sai’s illegitimate child, Bo Sai’s care for him was quite evident, but he couldn’t afford to offend that other person, either. After a brief consideration, the Dark Heavenly Master no longer hesitated and directly agreed to Qin Dongting’s terms.
Pledge then pledge, after all, there were only three days left until the final registration deadline for the rcenary Newcor King Competition, and one million Dark Pills was not a small amount; it was not necessarily possible to gather that sum smoothly in three days.
Seeing the other party’s agreent, Qin Dongting also breathed a sigh of relief.
With the master in front, and being on soone else’s turf, if the other party hadn’t agreed, he and Compass would have had no recourse.
The two of them made a solitary wager, forced to gamble once more, and unsurprisingly, they lost again.
After calmly retrieving his Battle Armor, Qin Dongting signed a pledge with Ten-Thousand Treasures Pavilion and then left the pavilion with Luo Compass in a crestfallen manner.
Once the two had left, a Dark Heavenly Master ascended the floors of the building, making his way to the highest level of Ten Thousand Treasures Tower.
In a small, independent pavilion with seven stories and overhanging eaves, there stood a Yaoqin.
Next to the zither was an incense burner, upon which no incense was offered, just a Dragon Musk Pearl radiating treasure light. Under the shimring glow, a beautifully dressed woman was gently playing the zither, producing a stream of music as soothing and lodious as flowing water from her fingertips.
The sound of the zither was lingering, as if it ca from beyond the ninth heaven.
With the flow of the zither’s music, a sudden breeze arose outside the pavilion, like the elegant hands of the woman weaving through clouds, causing them to dance as though brought to life, creating a series of illusions with dancing beauties, like scenes out of a dreamy mirage.
An observer with keen eyesight would recognize that the exceptionally beautiful woman’s instrunt was the rarely seen Divine Artifact, Cloud Rhythm Rain Master Zither, of the continent.
The Cloud Rhythm Rain Master Zither, a zither capable of Illusion Technique, could create the bewitching dance of beautiful maidens and could also form the deadly Hundred Ghosts Demanding Life Formation with a murderous aura.
The power of the zither in one’s hands, to kill or to save, is but a matter of thought.
Hearing the footsteps coming from below the pavilion, the beautiful woman pressed her hand back, and the music from the zither ceased abruptly, causing all the floating clouds outside to disperse as well.
The setting sun on the horizon was gradually enveloped by a dark haze, as if a storm was imminent.
"Madam Xieleng, the ring has been acquired," the Dark Heavenly Master said respectfully upon seeing the beautiful woman; he presented the ring and then stepped aside, bowing his head and waiting for her orders.
The appearance of the beautiful woman was distinguished, and her age was indeterminate as was her identity, which remained a mystery.
After taking the ring, the beautiful woman twirled it between her fingers and quickly noticed the tiny "Bo" character engraved inside the ring.
With a cold snort, her slender nails gathered a surge of Dark Power, lightly grazing the ring, causing the layer of tal skin next to the "Bo" character to peel off imdiately.
Beside the "Bo" character, an additional character appeared—it was a "Qin" character.
The "Bo" character was twisted and ugly, clearly marked by soone with clumsy hands and diocre Cultivation who struggled to engrave on such a material ring.
However, the "Qin" character was written with a bold and carefree stroke, comfortably flowing from the hand, unmistakably the true handwriting of the Continent’s rcenary King, Bo Sai.
Seeing these two characters that followed each other like shadows, Madam Xieleng’s beautiful eyes shot out a venomous glare akin to a snake’s. With a slap of her hand, she smashed the ring into the zither table, burying it three inches deep into the wood.
The Xileng Family, one of the old and well-known rcenary families on the continent.
Bo Xiyu was the only son of the rcenary King Bo Sai and the Xileng Family. The Xileng Family also owned Ten-Thousand Treasures Pavilion, and it was she who hindered Qin Dongting’s participation in the upcoming rcenary Newcor King Competition.
"Good for you, Qin Nu. Now that he’s dead, you’ve left behind this defiled ring. You think you and his son could one day wear this ring to attain the highest honor of the Continent’s rcenaries. You think you’re worthy? As long as I am here, that bastard Qin Dongting will never set foot in Geyue Town," Madam Xieleng raged to her extre, her beautiful face contorting instantly into a ferocious and terrifying expression.
