Gu Lao and his entourage drove to the Xu Family.
n Chao was already waiting at the gate.
As he saw the car stop, he respectfully ca forward, "Gu Lao, Zhao Lao, you have arrived."
Seeing Xiaofeng following Gu Lao, n Chao smiled at her, "Young Madam Gu is also here."
"I was just playing at my grandfather’s house, and when I heard that old Xu had an accident, I ca along with grandpa and grandfather. With grandpa and grandfather here, I don’t need to worry about old Xu’s situation."
She just ca to watch the excitent.
"Please," n Chao didn’t say much, he led them into the main courtyard, briefly explained old Xu’s situation, and the group went to old Xu’s courtyard.
On the sickbed, old Xu lay gasping for breath, no longer displaying his usual grandeur, only showing his weathered age.
"Grandfather," n Chao stood to one side, "Zhao Lao and Gu Lao have co to see you."
n Chao respectfully said to Gu Lao, "Gu Lao, my grandfather’s illness troubles you for a diagnosis. Three days ago, a doctor had examined my grandfather once, and his health was very good at the ti. Then, the next morning, grandfather felt unwell and couldn’t get out of bed."
n Chao explained the basic situation of old Xu to Gu Lao.
Gu Lao nodded and sat down to begin diagnosing old Xu.
Xiaofeng glanced at old Xu, his eyes lacking light, his facial expression rigid.
After a while, Gu Lao let go and said to n Chao, "This is a heart ailnt, leading to chest oppression, his breath couldn’t co up, directly causing him to fall ill."
"Gu Lao, do you have a solution? Although I am now the Head of the Xu Family, grandfather is still the old Family Head of the Xu Family, and many matters still require his counsel; he cannot just fall ill like this."
Xiaofeng rolled her eyes, n Chao oh n Chao, you are good at saying the right things in public, but you likely wish his death more than anyone else.
Perhaps old Xu was directly made ill by your anger, n Chao, without his breath coming up, and he fell ill in bed.
"Old fellow, how are you, can you hear us talking?" Gu Lao spoke loudly in conversation with old Xu.
Old Xu’s eyes, turbid, looked at Gu Lao and he nodded.
He could hear and see, but it was as if sothing was stuck in his throat, preventing him from speaking.
"I will prescribe a few dicines for you." Gu Lao stood up to write a prescription, jotting down so nas, and asked n Chao to arrange soone to get the dicine.
Old Xu struggled to sit up, and Gu Lao had to help him lean against the head of the bed.
"Old fellow, do you have sothing you want to tell us?"
Old Xu pointed at a piece of paper, probably asking for a pen to be given to him.
After getting a pen and paper, old Xu wrote on the paper: "n Chao’s master...."
He had written those few words when the sound of n Chao speaking outside was heard; his hand paused, and he stuffed the paper into Gu Lao’s palm.
"Gu Lao, soone has gone to get the dicine, and after a few doses, grandfather should be alright, right?"
"If he isn’t provoked in the next few days, after a few doses of dicine, he should recover quite well."
"These past days I wasn’t at ho, and I also asked the servants, grandfather didn’t go anywhere, nor did he et with anyone. I don’t understand how grandfather beca so aggravated. Gu Lao, rest assured, I will do as you said, and have soone watch over grandfather, not allowing any other person or matter to bother him."
"That’s the idea," Gu Lao nodded, "This person, once up in years, really cannot be provoked."
n Chao was seeing off Gu Lao and his party when they passed through the garden and ca face to face with Xu Xuezi, who was sitting in a wheelchair, sunning herself in the garden.
Xu Xuezi spent most of her ti lying in bed, and occasionally, she had the servants wheel her around the courtyard. She had just heard from the servants that so guests had arrived; having not seen outsiders for a long ti, she imdiately had the servants wheel her to the garden.
Although her current appearance was disheveled, it did not change the fact that she was n Chao’s wife. Since n Chao was the Head of the Xu Family, she naturally was the lady of the house.
"Husband," Xu Xuezi had spotted n Chao leading the group toward her from afar, she stretched her lips into a smile, happily calling out to n Chao.
Hearing her voice, n Chao subconsciously furrowed his brow.
Following behind, Xiaofeng heard the woman’s voice, looking toward its source, she saw a woman dressed in a purple cloak, sitting in a wheelchair.
Her face was made up, it was unclear whether her complexion was good or bad; her hair styled in a madam’s bun, smiling happily at n Chao.
The last ti she saw Xu Xuezi, the latter was barely alive; she seed much better today.
"Zhao Lao, Gu Lao, hello," Xu Xuezi greeted each person: "Forgive Xuezi for not being able to stand up and salute you due to my legs."
