This news was known only by a very few people. That portion of energy had always been sealed within the secret chambers of the Nann Royal Family. Many years later, it was discovered by accident that the energy had developed its own consciousness. Moreover, by a fortunate coincidence, it had broken through the critical point of the Spells going awry and had started cultivating on its own.
Therefore, the descendants of the Nann Royal Family had their hearts moved and wanted to claim this enormous energy for themselves. If they could assimilate it, it would be equivalent to directly receiving an inheritance, which was a huge temptation for anyone.
However, before they could act, the entity disappeared and no clues were found until today.
The guard was exactly the one who had followed the descendants of the cultivators, had heard about these secrets, and thus had an inkling when he saw the young man unintentionally releasing black smoke from his body for the first ti.
"Sword Tree Forest is so vast, how can I find the thing you ntioned?" Nann Yu inquired calmly, seemingly unaware of what the news implied.
However, the heart of the guard nearby was already racing, his blood surging.
The King, having learned that the thing was in the Sword Tree Forest, thought that even if they had to comb through the entire forest, it would be worth it.
Nann Yu did not think so; he did not know what he was facing or what dangers he might encounter, nor how to co into contact with the thing. And only the young man in front of him knew these things.
Yin He smiled, initially thinking that Nann Yu was easy to trick, but it seed not so easy after all. However, wasn’t this what he was waiting for?
"I’ll tell you—"
Nann Yu did not move, just watching the young man in front of him. At this distance, even if the young man spoke very softly, he could hear him.
Yin He glanced at the guard not far away, the implication very clear.
Nann Yu hesitated only for a mont but still confident that he could handle Yin He before him, stepped forward and even crouched down.
"Now you may speak..."
Before Nann Yu could finish speaking, the young man suddenly made a move. Even Xing Yu nearby did not notice when the young man swiftly wrapped his arms around Nann Yu’s neck. By the ti Nann Yu realized it, a bundle of black smoke was tightly coiled around his neck along with the young man’s arms. The young man wasn’t particularly strong, his force almost negligible, but the black smoke instantly burrowed into Nann Yu’s neck.
It felt as if soone were slowly slicing the skin on his neck with a blade.
The torch imdiately fell to the ground, plunging the surroundings into darkness. The corners of the young man’s mouth slowly curled into a smirk; he had succeeded.
"Yin He," didn’t you say that as long as you tell where that thing is, Nann Yu would let us go?
"Lead us out," said Yin He coldly, not answering Xing Yu’s question.
Nann Yu did not speak, and in an instant, the guards nearby had sensed sothing was off. By the ti they rushed over, they found Nann Yu in Yin He’s grasp.
"Don’t move, do not act rashly," the lead guard, pale-faced, commanded. They had unexpectedly capsized in a channel; the lead guard just stared motionlessly at their King.
Nann Yu felt a scorching pain in his throat and knew that he had fallen into the young man’s trap.
"Help up," Yin He said, and Xing Yu, startled, hurriedly assisted Yin He, while Nann Yu also slowly stood up. At that mont, Yin He was already lying on Nann Yu’s back.
Under the firelight, the black smoke slowly enveloped the upper body of Nann Yu, causing the guards to suck in a breath and tightly grasp their weapons.
"If you want your King to co with us, then just co on," Yin He said coldly to those n. The next mont, he lowered his head and told Nann, "Walk—"
Upon hearing this, Nann Yu walked forward toward the Formation laid out in front of him; the Formation, spreading from the Stone Cave, was circular, making it impossible for Yin He and Xing Yu to leave.
"Let them break the Formation—" Yin He said.
"Break the Formation—" Nann Yu said, suppressing the pain that welled up in his throat.
The guards instantly looked anxiously at their King, but they knew all too well how sinister the black smoke was.
"Hurry and break it—" the lead guard urgently spoke.
Imdiately, two guards headed toward the edge of the Formation, quickly dismantling it, revealing a blue light barrier rushing into the sky. After a sll of burning followed, the two guards stepped aside, one on each side, watching Yin He’s side.
