Chapter 92: Mom, how has that fat guy been recently?
Ruby Green’s engagent was approaching, and the entire Green family was exceptionally busy.
Jackson Taylor directed the servants to sweep and paste the wedding decorations with more zeal than getting married himself.
Even Lincoln Green wore a gentle smile on his face.
In just a few days, the news that the Green family’s daughter from Southern Town was engaged to the second son of the Piers family had spread everywhere, and the wedding invitations had been sent out.
Many families that Lincoln had never been able to reach before started sending various invitations to the Green’s Mansion, greatly satisfying Lincoln’s vanity.
Although Rose Taylor and Ruby Green had been hospitalized for two months due to their injuries, Rose had almost recovered, but Ruby had a second fracture. She could stand, but she still limped.
As the engagent day drew near, Ruby grew more agitated looking at her leg and broke countless things, to the point where even nurses were reluctant to enter their ward.
Rose tried to calm her down. “Ruby, don’t worry. The skirt’s hem will be big, and with soone supporting you, no one will notice.”
But Ruby couldn’t listen. “Mom, all those important people will be attending. If they see limping, who knows how they’ll laugh at ? Didn’t the doctor say I could get an injection?”
“You can, but it has significant side effects. You’re still young, and there’s no telling what complications might arise,” Rose quickly stopped her. Although the injection could make Ruby’s leg look normal on the day, no one knew the side effects of such a potent drug.
“Mom, I can’t lose. This engagent is my first appearance as the future Mrs. Piers, and it must be flawless. So what if the recovery takes longer after the injection? I’ll have all the ti I need to recover once the engagent party is over.” Ruby was determined.
“But Ruby…”
“Mom, can you bear to see hobbling at my engagent party? It’s Brandon Piers we’re talking about. If he feels embarrassed by my limp and regrets it on the spot, what then?” Ruby interrupted Rose, her eyes filled with a feverish intensity.
Marrying into the Piers family was a dream for many won.
And now that she was about to achieve that dream, she couldn’t let her leg be a regrettable factor.
Just thinking about her leg made Ruby want to tear Abigail Green to pieces. If it weren’t for that fat bitch, she wouldn’t have fractured her leg twice, having to resort to such desperate asures for the engagent party.
“Then… I’ll ask Dr. Mao again.” Seeing her daughter’s determined gaze, Rose knew she couldn’t change her mind and could only find a solution.
With her mother’s promise, Ruby felt much more at ease but still held a grudge against Abigail. “Mom, how’s that fat bitch doing recently?”
“Mona Wilde isn’t at the Piers’ Mansion anymore, so I don’t know the situation there. But don’t worry, she won’t cause any trouble.” Rose was worried that Abigail would reveal the truth, but with Aunt Claudia in their hands and the engagent between the Green and Piers families imminent, the invitations had been sent out.
Even if that fat bitch tried to cause trouble, she couldn’t stop it.
“Mom, have soone keep an eye on her. I feel that fat bitch has beco quite strange after giving birth.” Ruby felt uneasy. As long as Abigail was alive, she couldn’t feel relaxed.
Rose felt the sa. That fat bitch had survived childbirth and uttered strange words. The injuries they had suffered this ti also made Rose feel Abigail was different.
“Don’t worry, I’ll have soone keep an eye on her. When you get engaged, she’ll also be engaged to Clark Stone. At that ti, I’ll get the Stone family to record so leverage against her to ensure she won’t ss up your engagent.” Rose whispered.
The Stone family had risen quickly and wasn’t entirely clean. Dealing with a fat bitch wouldn’t be a problem.
Hearing this, Ruby finally breathed a sigh of relief.
As they talked, they suddenly heard the lively discussion of nurses outside, with Abigail’s na ntioned among them. Ruby frowned and looked at her mother. “What’s going on?”
