Chapter 715: Chapter 715: Every bit of her child’s growth surprises her Chapter 715: Chapter 715: Every bit of her child’s growth surprises her Abigail Green returned to the villa, put down the docunts, and called Hughes to co in for dinner.
Aunt Claudia had already t Hughes and knew he was Abigail’s driver. She enthusiastically invited him in. Teddy was sitting on the floor playing with Threo while Lois was busy in the kitchen.
Hughes didn’t stand on ceremony and obediently ca in. Instead of sitting down right away, he ticulously inspected Abigail’s villa, then turned to Abigail and said, “Madam, may I install so surveillance caras in a few blind spots on the first floor? Also on the villa windows.”
“Call Abigail.” Abigail was particularly annoyed when people called her “Madam,” so she corrected Hughes and then asked, “Which blind spots are you referring to?”
When she moved into the villa, she had already installed surveillance caras. But Hughes, being a hacker, had a different perspective. Hearing that Abigail didn’t object, he took her around the room again and pointed out a few places.
Abigail realized there were indeed vulnerabilities in the spots Hughes ntioned. She nodded, “Sure, you go ahead.”
After speaking, Abigail suddenly thought of sothing, “Why didn’t the security system go off when soone entered the villa last night?”
Hughes’ mouth twitched, recalling the interception images from last night, “…maybe the security level was a bit low. I’ll reset it for you shortly.”
“Okay.” Abigail nodded happily, thinking about how that jerk Brandon would no longer be able to sneak into her villa at night.
“By the way, I live across the street. If you need anything less… Abigail, you can always reach out to . Here’s my number.” Hughes handed Abigail a card with a string of digits on it.
Hughes suddenly paused, “You’re not older than , are you?”
He rembered that Abigail hadn’t had her twentieth birthday yet, but he was already twenty-one—calling her “Abigail” felt strange.
Abigail took the card and glanced at Hughes, “You want to call you brother?”
In reality, Abigail was old enough to be Hughes’ aunt, right?
The young man scratched his head awkwardly, “No need for that.”
“Then call sis,” Abigail replied bluntly.
Just then, dinner was ready. Aunt Claudia glanced at Abigail teasingly, “You’re younger than him, yet you want him to call you sis? Abigail, since when did you beco so bossy? Hughes, don’t mind her. Let’s eat.”
Aunt Claudia was very fond of Hughes, who was handso and seed obedient, and treated him warmly.
Abigail knew Aunt Claudia’s preferences well and couldn’t help but chuckle inwardly. If she knew what he really did, she probably wouldn’t find him so obedient.
“Thank you, Aunt Claudia,” Hughes thanked more obediently upon seeing this.
Just as he finished speaking, Teddy, who had been playing excitedly with Threo, suddenly stood up, holding onto Threo, and wobbled towards Abigail and the others, his little arms raised high and shouting, “Dinner, dinner, ti for dinner…”
Before Abigail and Aunt Claudia could react, Hughes tensed up, watching the wobbly little Teddy, “Careful…”
The next mont, Teddy fell toward the ground, but before his small body hit the ground, Threo bit Teddy’s collar and gently placed him down.
Teddy was clearly not experiencing this for the first ti. Not only was he not scared, but he turned to pat Threo’s head, laughing gleefully.
Abigail and Aunt Claudia had long since been accustod to such scenes and remained unfazed.
Hughes was witnessing this for the first ti and couldn’t help but comnt, “I didn’t know Threo had this kind of use.”
Abigail was puzzled, “Threo?”
Hughes realized he had slipped up and awkwardly cough-faked, “Um, I an…”
“So you know whose dog this is?” Abigail wasn’t planning to let him off the hook.
Hughes, not good at lying, complied obediently.
Abigail continued to ask, “Threo? Isn’t his na just Threo?”
“Uh, I heard Pullan and the others call him Threo. They said he was raised by the second master.” Hughes finished speaking, looking innocently at Abigail, inadvertently spilling the beans about Brandon and Pullan.
“Oh, so that’s it.” Abigail glanced at the dog on the floor, “Threo!”
The dog, “Woof!”
“Brandon’s Threo!”
“Woof woof!”
Abigail was satisfied, gave Hughes a pleased look, then squatted down to pick up her son, “Let’s go, ti to eat.”
Teddy was overjoyed. In his mother’s arms, he wriggled, and Abigail placed him in a high chair. Aunt Claudia ca over to put a strawberry-patterned bib on him. The chubby little guy looked even more lovable.
Lois brought Teddy’s special plate and then served rice balls, olette, salmon, carrots, peas, and blueberries, finishing with a few drops of walnut oil.
The little guy imdiately put on a defiant stance, grabbing the training spoon and starting to eat. Unfortunately, his grandiose posture was matched by clumsiness, dropping two bites for every one he managed to eat. More food ended up in his bib than in his mouth.
Abigail couldn’t stop laughing and reached for Teddy’s spoon, “Here, let mommy feed you.”
But the little one, despite his young age, had a stubborn temper. Clutching the spoon tightly, he refused to let Abigail feed him, insisting on doing it himself.
Abigail didn’t force him, enjoying watching the little guy eat on his own. But soon, Teddy’s fair chubby face was covered in rice grains and olette mixed with blueberry juice. With the addition of walnut oil, his chin glead with oil, making his face look like a colorful canvas.
Hughes, watching a child eat for the first ti, was dumbfounded. To him, this wasn’t a al but a small disaster.
However, everyone else was used to it, silently wondering why marry, why have kids; wasn’t being single wonderful?
Yet, thinking of this, Hughes couldn’t help but look at Abigail. Unlike him, Abigail looked at the ssy-faced Teddy with nothing but warmth in her eyes and not a hint of impatience. His heart throbbed slightly but was quickly suppressed.
The present Abigail Green was out of his reach. His only task now was to protect her and atone for the mistakes he had made.
“Hughes, don’t space out, eat,” Aunt Claudia urged warmly upon seeing Hughes not touching his food.
Hughes responded quickly and began eating.
Abigail glanced at him and continued teasing Teddy, “Teddy, eat well. Would you like to give mommy a bite?”
Abigail opened her mouth playfully, not expecting anything.
To her surprise, Teddy scooped up a few grains of rice with his training spoon and moved it towards her mouth.
Unprepared, Abigail was caught by the spoon and looked at the little guy in astonishnt, her eyes filled with surprise. She turned to Aunt Claudia in disbelief, “Aunt Claudia, did you see that? Did you see that!”
Aunt Claudia chuckled at Abigail’s excited expression, “I saw, I saw. Teddy, give grandma a bite too.”
The little guy turned the spoon towards Aunt Claudia, but before it reached her mouth, Teddy put it back into his own mouth, savoring the empty spoon.
Everyone was stunned, and then laughter filled the room.
Aunt Claudia playfully scolded, “You little rascal, giving mommy a bite but not grandma? Grandma dotes on you all day for nothing.”
The little guy didn’t understand such a long sentence but chuckled while biting the spoon.
Abigail watched with red-rimd eyes. Every bit of her child’s growth filled her with joy, though she wondered if she could provide the best for him.
