Chapter 692: Chapter 692: Do You Really Like Him That Much? Chapter 692: Chapter 692: Do You Really Like Him That Much? Abigail saw that Brandon had already softened, and her relieved heart slightly settled. She had no idea that a phone call would make the man’s expression suddenly turn cold. When he put down the phone and looked at her again, his gaze had changed.
This change made Abigail’s heart seize up again. Sure enough, the next mont she heard Brandon order Pullan, “Pullan, take Abigail back to the ward.”
The title “Madam” was forcibly replaced with “Abigail.”
Abigail felt all the blood rush to her head, “Brandon, do you really think doing this is for my own good? You’re wrong. You don’t even know what I want!”
“Pullan.” Brandon heard Abigail’s anger and called Pullan again. He couldn’t let Abigail stay any longer, afraid he would not be able to resist getting soft-hearted. But if Joshua had indeed gained control of the Croft Family, then keeping Abigail by his side was too dangerous.
Back then, when Joshua beca disabled, it wasn’t by Brandon’s hand, but it was closely related to him.
Moreover, it was Brandon who sent his father and brother to prison, both for ten years. Joshua wouldn’t let those close to him off the hook.
And for a man to enter a mafia family like the Croft Family while disabled and then beco the head, his ans and determination were unimaginable.
Especially since the Croft Family, with its roots in arms dealing, walked the edge of darkness.
The forr Joshua had been cruel. Now, coming out of such a place, how could his hands be clean?
At this mont, he couldn’t let emotions get in the way.
“Madam, I’m sorry.” Pullan blocked Abigail, apologizing while trying to escort her outside.
Abigail couldn’t believe he would make such a decision. “Brandon, do you even know what you’re doing??”
“Madam, please don’t make it hard for .” Pullan was nearly in tears, not daring to really push Abigail, and could only plead pathetically.
“Brandon, I’m giving you three days. After three days, co find when you’ve cleared your mind.” Abigail wished she could slap the man awake, but was blocked by Pullan. Yet she couldn’t bring herself to say any more harsh words, worried that in her emotional state she might say sothing irrevocable, leaving him no way out. So she gave him three days.
Brandon remained silent, but his heart hurt even more. His darling Abigail deserved the brightest and most promising life.
“Abby, let’s go back to the ward. Health is most important.” Benjamin Jones, who had been silent, finally stepped forward when Abigail’s breath beca unstable.
Abigail had only said a few words, but her breathing was heavy. It was unclear if it was from fatigue or anger, she slightly nodded at Benjamin’s words, her eyes still on the ward. But Pullan was too tall and broad, blocking her view of the man inside, making it impossible to see his expression.
“Let’s go.” Benjamin reached out to support Abigail’s shoulder.
Abigail moved her lips but didn’t make a sound, yet she followed Benjamin.
Pullan watched their backs, unexpectedly seeing them as quite a match, and worriedly turned back to Brandon, “Master Brandon, do we really have to do this? Madam and Lawyer Jones seem to be quite fitting together.”
Brandon remained still. Due to the earlier restraint, his body was tense, and now he hurt his wound again, his handso face pale as death. Hearing Pullan’s words, he glared harshly.
Pullan shivered and quickly changed his words, “Master Brandon and Madam are the perfect match.”
“Arr, arr, arr… Arrange for discharge tomorrow morning. Also…” At the ntion of “also,” Brandon hesitated for a long ti, making Pullan think there would be no more until Brandon abruptly added, “Withdraw all our people from Abigail’s side.”
“Wha… What?” Pullan thought he had misheard.
But Brandon did not want to explain and directly closed his eyes.
Pullan opened his mouth, not knowing what to say. If all the people were withdrawn from Abigail’s side, what about her safety?
But seeing that Brandon had no intention of speaking any further, he obediently closed his mouth and transmitted the ssage to Kennan Max.
When Kennan saw the ssage, he was slightly stunned but quickly understood Brandon’s intention and imdiately began to arrange.
And before Abigail had even reached her ward, she fainted.
Benjamin was so scared that he imdiately picked her up and called for a doctor.
After the doctor had examined her, Benjamin asked hastily, “What’s going on? Didn’t they say it wasn’t serious?”
“Miss Green has a history of concussions, and this ti she was hit on the back of the head again, so any stimulation should be avoided. Her current condition seems to be caused by extre emotional agitation.” The doctor explained apologetically.
Benjamin imdiately understood what had happened and sighed almost imperceptibly. “So what should we do now?”
“She needs to rest well and avoid any stimulation.” The doctor advised.
Benjamin knew that ant there was nothing more they could do but be cautious. But thinking of the things Abby would face next, his expression was grim. When the doctor left, he lightly muttered, “Does she really love him that much?”
Unfortunately, Abigail, still sleeping on the hospital bed, couldn’t answer his question.
But that did not diminish the determination in Benjamin’s eyes.
At this mont, Benjamin’s phone rang. He glanced at the number, tucked Abigail in, and left the ward to answer, “So, what is it?”
“Master Brandon has withdrawn all the hidden protection around Miss Green.” The voice on the other end spoke respectfully.
“Hmm, replace them with our people.” Benjamin wasn’t surprised by Brandon’s decision. Since he wanted to sever ties, he couldn’t leave any evidence. This was his chance.
“Got it.” The subordinate responded imdiately.
Benjamin stood outside the ward, his gaze fixed on Abigail inside. “Find out what the Piers family is up to lately, especially the main branch. Inform imdiately of any news.”
He reviewed Brandon’s attitude and today’s events in his mind. If it was just Ruby Green seeking revenge on Abigail, there wouldn’t have been such a grand sche today.
Even with Eva Bell and the third branch of the Piers involved, it wouldn’t have caused Brandon such concern. Especially since hired soldiers were among those intercepting Brandon today.
It was too unusual.
Benjamin speculated that there were other people involved today, and that person was the one Brandon truly feared.
And since he wanted to protect Abby, he had to find out who it was to be prepared.
“Understood.” The subordinate replied but did not hang up imdiately, instead reporting softly, “Lawyer Jones, there are reports that mbers of the Croft Family have entered the Flowery Kingdom. But it is not yet confird who they are or their purpose. Should we keep an eye on them?”
“Keep an eye on them.” Benjamin replied, frowning slightly. mbers of the Croft Family entering the country? It seed Swallow City was going to be chaotic.
After hanging up, Benjamin’s gaze deepened. After a while, he pushed open the ward door again, looking at the furrowed brows and uneasy sleeping face of Abigail, whispering softly, “Abby, in three days, you’re bound to be disappointed.”
