Chapter 662: Chapter 662: You Foolish Woman Chapter 662: Chapter 662: You Foolish Woman Abigail Green looked up to see a travel-stained man returning, “Back so early? Has the party ended?”
Brandon Piers was taken aback by the question and instinctively glanced at the screen on Abigail’s phone. Sure enough, it was tonight’s breaking news. He hurriedly reached out to cover it. “Don’t look.”
“Why not?” Abigail teased him, seeing how nervous he was.
“It’s nothing, just don’t look.” Brandon pulled the phone out of Abigail’s hand. “Abigail, you might hear so rumors lately. Don’t mind them; they’re all fake.”
“Oh, then you should tell what these rumors are first.” Abigail rarely saw her man looking so flustered. The gloom she felt from seeing the photo earlier vanished instantly.
Brandon didn’t know how to explain for a mont and finally gave a firm order, “Just don’t listen, don’t believe.”
“Oh…” Abigail deliberately dragged out the sound.
Seeing this, Brandon tentatively asked, “You… saw it all?”
“Yeah, you guys look pretty well-matched,” Abigail said mischievously.
Brandon, who had been tense the whole way here, felt inexplicably annoyed by Abigail’s attitude. “Don’t you have anything else to say?”
“Hmm, you look very handso today.” Abigail glanced at the man in a suit, who was excessively handso, and praised him sincerely.
But this wasn’t the answer Brandon wanted. His amber eyes fixed on Abigail.
Abigail was puzzled by his stare. “Is there sothing on my face?”
“Yes.” After staring at Abigail for a long ti, Brandon confird he couldn’t see any signs of jealousy from her and angrily retorted, realizing that she hadn’t misunderstood at all. The party hadn’t ended, and he had driven back as fast as he could, fearing she might misunderstand. But she wasn’t jealous at all. Didn’t she worry?
“Huh?” Abigail hurriedly ran to the bathroom, staring at the mirror for a long ti and muttering, “Doesn’t seem bad.”
She had deliberately used so herbal redies in the morning, and they worked quite well. Her face was badly bruised in the morning but had faded a lot by now.
Completely ignored, Brandon thought, “…” Her face was more precious than him!
After confirming there was nothing wrong with her face, Abigail turned around and saw the man standing motionlessly at the bathroom door. She finally realized he was angry and recalled the news and comnts from the dia. “Brandon, don’t take those insults online seriously. I saw that most of them were guided by ghostwriters.”
Brandon, “…” That’s what she deduced after all this thinking?
Seeing Brandon’s face darken even more after she finished speaking, Abigail awkwardly scratched her head. “Where exactly are you unhappy? Why don’t you just say it?”
“The article says I’m going to marry another woman soon. Don’t you have any thoughts about that?” He had prepared explanations all the way here, none of which he used, feeling extrely frustrated.
“Ah, I know that’s fake. The picture clearly shows it was done intentionally by your mother. Otherwise, it wouldn’t be your mom holding both of you, but Bertha Swift holding you.” Abigail answered calmly.
Brandon, “…” You analyzed it thoroughly, but that’s not what he wanted to hear.
“You feel unwell?” Abigail tiptoed to check the man’s forehead.
Brandon wrapped his hands around Abigail’s waist. “You silly woman!”
After speaking, Brandon was afraid of hurting Abigail’s face by biting her lips. So, he lightly nibbled on her nose instead.
Abigail let out a soft “oh.” Was this man born as a dog? Biting people all the ti!
But speaking of this issue, she still felt worried. After Brandon released her, she couldn’t help but ask, “With such a commotion, your reputation will be damaged, and your mom’s intentions are also very clear. She doesn’t approve of us being together.”
Although she was certain that Brandon loved her, Eva Bell’s dislike for her made Abigail uncomfortable.
And after failing to buy her off, she started forcing won on Brandon, causing such chaos.
This was clearly pushing for marriage.
“Don’t worry. I’ll handle it.” Brandon patted Abigail’s head.
“No matter what your relationship with her is like, to outsiders, she’s still your mother. If you are to take over Piers, you can’t make any mistakes on the bigger picture.” If she were just Abigail Green, she might not worry so much. But she was Abigail, so she knew the Piers Group wasn’t as glorious as it seed. Every move had to be cautious.
Especially when Brandon was about to contend for control over Piers, a damaged reputation wouldn’t affect his shares but surely would tarnish the public view of the hundred-year-old company and its stock prices.
“I know, don’t worry.” Seeing the concern in Abigail’s eyes, Brandon suddenly felt he was quite childish. The person in his arms was wholeheartedly thinking of him, yet he selfishly wished she would be a little jealous for his sake.
“Mm.” Abigail looked up at him and obediently responded.
Brandon adored her when she acted docile, looking so soft and tempting. He couldn’t help but tighten his grip on her fingers. “Let’s not have Teddy over tonight. I see him sleeping well with Aunt Claudia.”
“No way.” Abigail decisively refused.
Brandon, “…” Even their son mattered more than him!
Unhappy!
“Dad-dad, mom-mom…” Just when Brandon was feeling annoyed with Teddy, the boy’s voice echoed from outside.
Brandon paused while hugging Abigail. “What ti is it?”
“Nine thirty. Teddy should be going to bed.” Abigail’s good mood was evident in the way she looked at Brandon’s sulky expression.
Brandon watched the mischievous glint in Abigail’s eyes, bending down to nibble on her nose again before stopping.
“Hey, where’s Abigail?” Aunt Claudia saw the door open and murmured in confusion as she walked in, just in ti to see Brandon exiting the bathroom with Abigail following, her face blushing.
Aunt Claudia blushed too. “Ahem, I’ll take Teddy…”
“No need. He’s sleeping here tonight.” Before Brandon could nod, Abigail interrupted Aunt Claudia and quickly went to fetch Teddy.
The little guy was especially happy in his mom’s arms. After twisting a few tis, he noticed Abigail’s bruised face and puffed his cheeks to blow on it.
Abigail was stunned and looked at Aunt Claudia.
Aunt Claudia was delighted. “Oh, our Teddy knows how to care for mommy. That’s wonderful.”
Abigail was even more curious, and even Brandon was surprised by their son’s action.
Aunt Claudia leisurely explained, “Last ti, Teddy crawled too fast and bumped into Judy’s leg, crying loudly. I blew on it a few tis, telling him that it wouldn’t hurt. Today, when I told him that mommy was injured, the little one rembered.”
Abigail looked at her son in surprise.
Little Teddy thought his mom was encouraging him and leaned in to blow on Abigail’s face again, muttering in his little voice, “Mommy won’t hurt, won’t hurt…”
In an instant, Abigail was sweetly touched and kissed the little one’s cheeks, “Mommy’s not hurt, not hurt at all.”
Aunt Claudia couldn’t help but laugh.
On the side, Brandon also had a warm expression in his eyes. Suddenly, he thought of sothing.
