Chapter 422: Chapter 422: It’s Not Love That’s Shallow (Added for Helen’s reward) Chapter 422: Chapter 422: It’s Not Love That’s Shallow (Added for Helen’s reward) Brandon Piers saw Abigail Green’s little expression. “Who?”
“Dean Foster.” Since realizing her feelings for Brandon Piers, Abigail started to find herself subconsciously unsure of how to interact with her senior.
She was always like her grandfather, not good at socializing.
“Go ahead.” Brandon knew what she was concerned about and answered generously.
Abigail intentionally glanced at the man, seemingly wanting to read his micro-expressions for any hints of truth.
Up front, Pullan sat upright, listening intently, secretly Tsukkomi’ing, Second Young Master, you’re showing off again.
Seeing that Brandon didn’t seem angry, Abigail pressed the answer button, “Hello, Dean Foster.”
After speaking, she smiled self-deprecatingly. Who would have thought they would be so polite to each other like strangers one day? She was even glad that her feelings had remained unspoken. At least, their reunion could be cordial, without any grudges.
She didn’t know that it wasn’t her feelings that were too shallow but that those feelings had never been reciprocated or accepted.
It wasn’t the love that was shallow but the prolonged unrequited affection.
“Miss Green, where are you in Swallow City now? I have an urgent matter to et you.” Jeffrey Foster restrained his emotions, his voice still courteous and gentle.
But from her understanding of him, Abigail sensed so urgency. “Dean Foster, are you in Swallow City? Is it very urgent?”
Abigail felt quite puzzled.
“Yes, extrely urgent, and we must et in person. Can you tell your address?” Dean Foster answered with absolute certainty.
After seeing the video yesterday, he planned to co over, but a pre-scheduled surgery couldn’t be delayed, so he pushed it to today. After getting off the plane, he checked the surveillance, knowing that Abigail Green had just left Old Mr. Smith’s place.
“Alright, I’m near the museum. How about eting here?” Abigail looked out the car window and said to Jeffrey Foster.
“Okay, I’m not far from there. Give twenty minutes.” Jeffrey Foster hung up the call.
Abigail didn’t expect Jeffrey Foster to be nearby. She responded and then looked up, seeing a pair of dissatisfied eyes, feeling a bit awkward. “Dean Foster has urgent business with . We arranged to et near the museum.”
“I’m not deaf.” He just told her to take the call, not to agree to et that man.
And she agreed so smoothly!
Abigail, “…” Being cared for by soone so beautiful was both happy and troubling.
Pullan, sitting at the front, was incredibly happy. He just knew it, hahaha.
“Don’t worry. I’ll co back imdiately after I finish.” Abigail looked at the sulky beautiful face, suddenly reached out and poked the man’s face with her fingertip. “Are you jealous?”
“Who said I’m jealous? Who gave you the confidence to think I’d be jealous of you, a little fatty? And who is Jeffrey Foster? One of the top ten young talents? Do you think I’d think he is interested in you?” Brandon Piers, like an angry Persian cat, almost glared at Abigail.
“You, you gave the confidence. Jeffrey Foster is a doctor, and he’s not interested in .” Abigail answered each question while looking at the man’s handso face.
Brandon was stunned for a mont. “What are you doing?”
“Answering your questions.” Abigail smiled.
Brandon continued to deny proudly. “I wouldn’t be jealous.”
He snorted coldly in his heart. She still knew it was who gave her the confidence? Who didn’t know what Jeffrey Foster was up to? I wasn’t worried he’d be interested in you; I was worried you’d be interested in him!
“Okay, since you’re not jealous, then it shouldn’t be a problem for to et him, right?” Abigail smiled warmly, feeling genuinely cared for.
“As you wish.”
“Will you wait for ?” Abigail tested.
“Hurry up.” Though unwilling in his heart, he didn’t want to make a fuss.
Abigail reached out and poked the man’s face again. “When I’m done, I’ll go ho and keep you company fishing.”
Just then, Peter stopped the car, and Abigail swiftly jumped out.
The man who had his face poked suddenly lifted his head. “Was she coaxing a child just now?”
After muttering, he suddenly thought, why couldn’t I go with her?
Up front, Pullan and Peter tightly sealed their mouths, resolutely refusing to answer the Second Young Master’s deadly question.
Abigail got out of the car, looking at the familiar road, her emotions complex.
How long had it been since she last walked down this road properly?
Before she turned sixteen, Abigail loved going to school the most.
Coming out of the old alley and walking along this plane tree-lined road, she would always pass by the museum. At that ti, she was young and didn’t need to buy a ticket. Every ti she had a fight with her grandfather, she would hide in the museum, looking at great figures, different era exhibitions, and people’s speculation about the universe. She would feel insignificant.
Her grievances and sadness seed even more aningless in the vast sea of ti.
Now thinking back, she found her pre-sixteen self to be quite wise, in a laughable way.
Thinking of this, Abigail couldn’t help but shake her head. At this mont, she felt a scorching gaze on her. She looked up quickly and saw Jeffrey Foster standing two ters away.
Abigail was stunned. It was nearly September. He was wearing a light-colored trench coat, standing in the breeze, quietly watching her, as if he had been doing so for centuries.
She suddenly felt a bit flustered, her mouth opened. “Dean Foster…”
But her voice was a little hoarse. The bad feeling in her heart intensified.
“Co here.” Jeffrey Foster beckoned her.
Abigail involuntarily walked forward. When closer, she saw his face looking haggard, lacking his usual refined and elegant deanor, instead giving off an inexplicable sense of disarray. She hesitated.
Unexpectedly, Jeffrey Foster took two large steps forward, standing right in front of her. “Abigail, how long do you plan to deceive ?”
Abigail felt a buzz in her head, her heart pounding, but she tried hard to stay calm. “I don’t understand what you’re saying, Dean Foster.”
“Do you really not understand?” Jeffrey Foster stared at Abigail’s completely different face. He always felt she gave him a strong sense of familiarity but couldn’t pinpoint where it ca from. Until he saw her dancing with Brandon Piers last ti, he had doubts. Then, when he learned that Lincoln Green’s last surgery wasn’t perford by anyone from City Hospital, he suspected but found it absurd until he saw her performing surgery at the car accident scene yesterday, realizing suddenly.
He should have recognized her from the way she stitched Brandon Piers’ chest wound.
Abigail shook her head. She couldn’t understand how her senior suddenly recognized her. After all, reincarnation was too surreal. How could he believe she was Abigail?
“Second Young Master’s heart is better now, right?” Jeffrey Foster didn’t understand why she didn’t co to him after recognizing her. But why didn’t she admit her identity even now?
Abigail froze. “You should know better about Second Young Master’s heart condition.”
“In this world, only one person can independently perform surgery on Brandon Piers with a 100 percent success rate. That person is my junior sister. Isn’t that right, Abigail?” Jeffrey Foster finished speaking, softly calling Abigail.
Abigail felt her blood freeze. Her senior really recognized her.
