Chapter 337: Chapter 337: Wow, is the classic plot coming?
“Yes.”
Kelvin understood what this decision ant for the second young master.
If they couldn’t secure that 5% from the Greens, they would have a tough battle ahead. The remaining shares were scattered, tangled with deep-rooted interests within the Piers. Each minor shareholder was a sly fox, swaying with the wind, hard to pin down.
On top of that, both the main and second branches of the Piers were closely watching them. The main branch’s elder would be out of prison soon. It wasn’t just challenging to win support; it was nearly impossible to seize control.
This was why the second young master chose a different path, exhausting all efforts to track down the whereabouts of that 5% stake.
Who could have predicted that instead of securing the shares, the second young master ended up with a son and a wife first?
...
Kelvin found it utterly miraculous.
The second young master’s current decision was unlike his usual style. Kelvin guessed it must have been for the young lady.
Knowing her prior situation in the Green family and her pregnancy, he understood that her conflict with the Taylor mother-daughter duo was irreconcilable, going so far as to be a life-or-death matter.
If the second young master collaborated with the Taylors, it would certainly break the young lady’s heart.
So, they could struggle through this difficulty. After all, if it wasn’t hard, then why were they here?
“By the way, is there still no news of Maxwell from Midsumr?” Brandon frowned.
“We’ve only heard he’s in the Gills City, but our people haven’t seen him. He’s very cautious. So far, only Manager Norda from Midsumr in Gills City has had contact with him.”
“Keep investigating.” Brandon was facing such a tough opponent for the first ti. Until now, all they knew was that his last na was Maxwell, but he had never shown his face. Midsumr had been established for over twenty years, headquartered in France. It had only entered the dostic market in recent years but developed rapidly, becoming a leader in its industry. Yet, no one had ever seen their boss.
So said he was over seventy, while others claid she was a woman. Apart from the original mbers of Midsumr, few had ever seen this person.
How Minnie Swift managed to cooperate with a trust company that had no dostic foundation back then was also a mystery.
And those he had placed into Midsumr, despite their quick promotions, had never reached the top.
Now, abandoning his plan to communicate with the Greens, he considered testing Maxwell instead. As for Abigail’s situation…
If the 5% stake in Piers was indeed linked to the mother of the chubby one, he would not let it be stripped away completely like the shares in Lincoln Pharmaceuticals.
How she’d choose in the end was up to her. But before that, he just hoped she could live a simple and happy life.
Brandon hung up the phone, turning to Abigail, who appeared a bit bored.
Abigail felt uneasy under his gaze and turned back. “Hmm?”
“I kicked them out for you today. Don’t you think you should thank ?” The second young master’s righteous demand for gratitude showed no trace of restraint.
Abigail thought of what he said while driving that family of three out of the hospital today. A mix of emotions welled up in her heart. In a rare act of generosity, she responded, “…How would you like to thank you?”
Pullan perked his ears up. Wow, was this the classic setup? Was the second young master about to ask the young lady to repay with her body?
“Hmm…” Brandon pondered for a mont, realizing he didn’t have anything specific for the chubby one to do. After thinking for a bit, he added, “Forget it, I’ll tell you when I think of sothing.”
Abigail, “…Really?”
But before she could wonder if he was setting her up again, her phone suddenly rang.
Seeing the number, Abigail suddenly rembered that tomorrow was July 21. She had scheduled a eting with soone from Midsumr Trust, thinking they wanted to confirm the appointnt, so she quickly answered.
After listening for a while, she realized it wasn’t what she thought.
Because she never t with anyone from Midsumr Trust, that old phone rely showed there were docunts to be signed. Abigail didn’t thoroughly inquire and, with everything going on since her rebirth, had no ti to think about it, assuming it was related to Woods Lineage and Lincoln Pharmaceuticals’ dividends.
But after Brandon spent fifty million to buy her 52% of Lincoln’s shares, she understood that Lincoln’s operation couldn’t yield dividends annually.
The shares originally belonging to her body had long been divided by the Taylor mother and daughter.
So she assud that what Minnie Swift left her daughter was personal property from the Swift side. But now, hearing that Lincoln Green was discussing the ownership of Piers shares at Midsumr Trust, Abigail realized she might have been mistaken.
She glanced at Brandon, who had automatically distanced himself, and hesitantly asked Manager Norda from Midsumr, “May I ask which shares they are?”
The person on the other end was slightly surprised and looked at the person opposite. “Miss Green hasn’t checked the emails we sent you?”
Abigail recalled that the old phone had an email account, one from abroad with a password. She had never opened it. Now, she felt she might have overlooked sothing.
Seeing she was silent, the person paused. “To avoid unnecessary trouble, may I know if you have ti now? Our president is in Gills City; we could handle your contract in advance.”
Abigail frowned, checked the ti on her phone again, and confird her location. “I’m on Nathaniel Street and have about thirty minutes.”
“Good.” The response was prompt and decisive.
“Thank you.” She hung up and looked at Brandon. “I need to handle sothing. It’ll take about thirty minutes. Why don’t you go ho first?”
“You have sothing to do?” Brandon glanced outside the car. What could she possibly have to do here?
“Yes, personal matter.” Abigail confird and emphasized it was personal, not planning to tell him before things were settled.
Brandon wisely nodded. “Peter, find a spot to drop off the lady.”
As Abigail opened the car door, Brandon glanced at the ti. “Don’t need to accompany you?”
“No.”
“Then I’ll wait for you,” he replied before she could refuse.
Abigail looked at the domineering man, “Okay.”
After Abigail left, Brandon couldn’t help but mull over her words. Personal matter? What personal matter could she have here?
He couldn’t resist Googling it. What did it an when a woman claid to have a personal matter and didn’t allow a man to follow? The handso man’s face froze at the responses from the netizens. Suddenly, he spoke, “Is there a mask in the car?”
Pullan, puzzled, answered, “Yes.”
“Give it to .”
Pullan handed it over and watched as the second young master put it on and prepared to get out. He quickly followed.
Brandon saw this and said, “You put yours on too.”
Pullan excitedly thought, could it be that the second young master was going to follow the young lady? Oh my, this was big!
But ten minutes later, Pullan found himself following Brandon into the won’s section of a mall under the disdainful eyes of onlookers. He was speechless. What on earth was going on with the second young master?
……
