Chapter 225: Chapter 225: The Hospitality of the Stone Family

Lincoln Green asked cautiously, “Is sothing wrong?”

Rose Taylor withdrew her probing gaze and asked worriedly, “Honey, did Abigail make things difficult for you?”

“She said it wasn’t her.”

“But…”

“Enough. I’ll figure out the hospital situation. She’s now Master Brandon’s fiancée. You and Ruby should avoid provoking her.” Lincoln Green didn’t reprimand Rose Taylor, but his words still felt heavy to her.

Suppressing her discontent, Rose said, “I know. The Stones have co to our door.”

“The Stones?” Lincoln Green frowned.

“Yeah.” Rose Taylor responded lightly, her face expressionless though her mood was terrible. This Piers’ engagent banquet had not only humiliated her and Ruby but made the Stones the biggest losers.

Clark Stone didn’t just fail to get engaged to Abigail; Mr. Stone even dragged him to kneel before the Piers’ second master in public, making them the biggest laughingstock in Gills City overnight.

Not only did those who had previously ingratiated themselves with the Stones ridicule them, but even families they used to look down on were laughing behind their backs.

The involvent of Ruby and Abigail with Clark’s engagent fiasco, which had been masterminded by the mother and daughter, certainly added to their troubles.

Now, with the Stones having lost their wealth and honor, and facing an empty outco, one could only imagine their fury.

They had probably been observing the situation these past few days, believing that even though they had lost everything, Ruby had also been disappointed, while Abigail had genuinely had a child with Brandon and gotten engaged in front of the whole internet.

In their social circle, despite mocking the mother and daughter, they still had to extend so courtesy to the Green family because of Abigail.

But now, things were different.

Rose Taylor thought angrily. The Stones really took advantage of the situation. Ruby had just been kicked out of Sincere Hospital and was rejected by other hospitals. They rushed over imdiately.

Clearly, they had co with ill intentions.

Seeing Lincoln Green’s nonchalant response, Rose couldn’t resist reminding him, “The Stones probably ca because of Abigail’s engagent. Honey, what should we do?”

“Let’s et them first.” Lincoln rubbed his temples. Clearly preoccupied, he didn’t look as bright as usual and seed quite tired.

Seeing this, Rose said no more and accompanied Lincoln downstairs, arm in arm.

Clark Stone and the Stones were all there, and Ruby Green was sitting in a wheelchair, watching these unexpected visitors.

Previously, the Stones’ collaboration with Rose Taylor and her daughter made their relationship seem normal on the surface but actually very close in private. After the engagent banquet, however, things had changed.

The relationship between the two families beca very delicate.

Now that Ruby had been expelled from Sincere Hospital, the Stones finally found a breakthrough.

Lincoln Green ca downstairs, and after so pleasantries between the families, Clark Stone looked at Ruby in the wheelchair. “Uncle, Auntie, I have so connections in Gills City. Why not leave Ruby’s leg to ? I promise to return you a healthy daughter.”

Not just Lincoln, Rose and Ruby also looked at Clark curiously.

They thought the Stones, realizing Abigail’s ill-treatnt by the Piers, had co to kick them while they were down and demand money.

But Clark’s proposal to help them surprised them. Why?

Lincoln Green was very pleased. He didn’t know about the private dealings between the Stones and Rose Taylor. He simply thought they were being loyal. Considering their past cooperation and Abigail’s engagent with the Piers, he saw the Stones’ visit as a gesture of goodwill.

But Rose and Ruby didn’t see it this way, especially Ruby. She was the most familiar with Clark and knew his character the best. There was no way the Stones could be so kind. She looked at Clark with suspicion.
