Chapter 220: Chapter 220: She’s Too Bad
Abigail wondered why Brandon Piers had returned to the old house.
As she was thinking, the door to the nursery was pushed open, and she looked up to see the man in the wheelchair.
Abigail subconsciously glanced at the shirt she had just changed out of.
Brandon followed her gaze. Seeing that the jacket had been taken off, his mood improved sowhat. But when his eyes landed on her neck, they darkened. “What’s going on here?”
Abigail was puzzled. “What do you an, what’s going on?”
Following Brandon’s gaze, she lowered her head and realized that two buttons on her shirt were undone, exposing the spot where Ruby Green had burned her.
“It’s nothing.” Abigail wasn’t very concerned. It was just a red burn.
“A burn?” Brandon didn’t think it was nothing. The small chubby woman was very fair, with a rare delicate whiteness. Now that it was red, it looked like a birthmark, quite frightening.
The scratch she got from that so-called fan of the internet celebrity at the engagent party had not fully healed. Now her chest was burnt. Did this small chubby woman not care about herself or was she just really stupid?
For so inexplicable reason, Brandon was very angry.
“Yes, your ex-fiancée did it.” Abigail didn’t know why he was angry, and she spoke sowhat mischievously.
“Ruby Green?” ntioning the na, Brandon frowned slightly.
“Yes, but I threw two drinks at her in return, so don’t feel bad.” Abigail shrugged at the sudden frown on Brandon’s face.
She didn’t even realize that her tone was probing.
Brandon shot a glance at Abigail. He didn’t feel bad at all.
“Got it. Hand the jacket.” Brandon had already put his expression back in order and pointed to the jacket Abigail had just changed out of.
There was a flash of disappointnt in Abigail’s eyes. She then licked her lips with a mischievous smile. She knew he had a severe case of obsessive-compulsive disorder. She didn’t expect it to be this severe; he actually left the hospital despite his condition. She dared not tease him further and handed the jacket over quickly.
Brandon gave her a fierce look with his beautiful amber eyes. He then laid the jacket flat, ticulously untied the belt at the back, re-tied it, and asked the servant to fetch an iron. After ironing it, he put it away and finally felt at ease.
Watching the entire process, Abigail found it both amusing and heartwarming. For the first ti, she felt she was too an.
“Let see how your wound is healing.” Perhaps feeling guilty for making him co all this way, Abigail had a mont of conscience.
Brandon wasn’t modest. She was the one who operated on him. She stitched the wound, so no one understood his condition better than her.
She unbuttoned his shirt and expertly examined the wound. Finally, she placed her palm on his heart, concentrating intensely. His heartbeat imprinted itself clearly in her mind through her palm.
Thump, thump, thump…
Brandon looked down, just in ti to see Abigail’s small chubby hand placed on his chest. He had noticed before that her hands were small. But because she was chubby, they were particularly plump.
From her chubby face to her cute earlobes to her standard-sized, plump, and smooth toes, everything looked exceptionally pleasing.
For soone with severe obsessive-compulsive disorder, it was particularly pleasant to look at.
He didn’t expect her small chubby hands to be so adorable either.
He had seen them often but never closely observed them. Now, examining her hand from such a close distance, he saw that it was smooth and fair, slightly cool, and felt exceptionally comfortable on his chest during the sumr.
What truly captivated Brandon was Abigail’s expression.
Before he lost consciousness that day, he vaguely saw Abigail performing surgery on him. It was like a hallucination of seeing a divine being during a near-death experience, clean and pure.
After waking up, he always thought it was an illusion. But for so reason, when Abigail was intensely focused on inspecting his heart, he felt as if he were back in the lab, near death.
The woman in front of him was calm, elegant, exuding an indisputable arrogance and confidence. She was not particularly beautiful but very dazzling.
Brandon’s heart raced, thump, thump, thump, thump-thump-thump…
Suddenly, it skipped a beat.
