Chapter 156: Chapter 156 But You Owe a Life!

The elevator was very quiet.

It was different from the kind of ntal quietness that transcended physical phenona when Abigail’s life was hanging by a thread.

This was real quiet.

Two indistinct bodyguards each stood in a corner. Their breathing was so light that if one didn’t pay attention, it was almost as if they were not there.

Brandon Piers maintained a composed and extraordinarily handso face. After she finished saying Master Stone was her senior, he didn’t say another word.

Abigail didn’t know if it was her illusion, but she always felt he was very angry. Yet she couldn’t understand why he was mad.

She had a child for Clark Stone, so why was he angry?

In this environnt, Abigail didn’t want to ask.

Especially since Brandon had just put himself in danger to save her. If Pullan hadn’t taken that bullet, given Brandon’s current condition, the impact alone would have killed him, even without being hit.

Thinking of this, Abigail bit her chapped lip. “You can restore the hospital room or switch to another. Today you saved . Let’s consider the issue from the previous surgery square.”

Abigail didn’t think much of it. She saved Brandon’s life once, and today, he saved hers. A life for a life, it was naturally mutual and even.

Moreover, the conditions she previously imposed on Brandon were to prevent Ruby from marrying into the Piers family. After being refused and causing trouble for him out of spite, it had no real significance.

Now that this man had saved her, there was no longer any reason to trouble him.

As for Ruby, having tried to kill her several tis, she owed Abigail’s predecessor a life. There was no way she could forgive her. When the ti ca, Brandon, as Ruby’s fiancé, would inevitably turn against her one day.

Rather than owing anything then, it was better to settle things now. When they beca adversaries, there wouldn’t be any need to consider emotional ties.

But as soon as Abigail finished speaking, the temperature in the elevator seed to drop a few degrees, making the atmosphere even colder and more tense.

She couldn’t help but turn her head to glance at the man in the wheelchair. He had an excessively handso face, without any emotion, staring blankly ahead. Yet it made her feel cold and displeased.

Abigail, who never understood how to deal with a man’s emotions, simply took a step back, lowering her presence like the two bodyguards.

Brandon had never seen such a foolish woman.

Foolishness could be tolerated, but she seed to think others were as foolish as she was.

If his current debilitating condition didn’t prevent him from moving, he would really want to hit this chubby little idiot.

Grinding his teeth, Brandon looked up at Abigail, wanting to act like a quail. “Co here.”

Abigail looked at the expressionless bodyguard on the left, then at the expressionless bodyguard on the right, and finally pointed at herself as if asking, “?”

Brandon closed his eyes. “Abigail Green.”

“Oh.” Abigail finally confird Brandon was really calling her. Reluctantly, she walked over. “Is there anything else, Master Piers?”

“I have already agreed to your conditions. I won’t change the hospital room, nor will I undo the arrangents you made. But…” Brandon paused, a trace of cunning flashing in his amber, narrow eyes. “But you owe a life.”

When Abigail heard that Brandon wouldn’t change the hospital room arrangents, she felt a bad feeling arising in her heart. The next second, his “but” made her tense up. Then, she heard Brandon’s last sentence.

But you owe a life!

Abigail took a deep breath, trying hard to stay calm and not act impulsively. “What does Master Piers want in return?”

In her heart, she guessed, could he be thinking of using today’s life-saving grace to make her give up on dealing with Ruby? Did he know that Ruby was the one who wanted her dead today?

But did this man care?

The more Abigail thought about it, the worse she felt. The word “you” was bitten very heavily.

Brandon found it amusing internally, but his face showed no expression. Was she so angry that she even used “sir”?
