Her heart pounded, suddenly faster and more ferocious.
There was a dull pain in her chest as Bai Yuejie’s eyes widened in incredible terror, she clutched at her heart, unable to believe what she was seeing.
Shi i advanced toward her step by step, "Why do you look at like that? Do I scare you?"
Her tone was familiar, her voice gentle and light. Each word she uttered carried a hint of laughter, an all too familiar tone!
Bai Yuejie was extrely frightened, "You..."
As Shi i moved closer, Bai Yuejie’s heartache worsened, her face filled with growing fear, to the point where even her back was soaked.
"Ah," Tang Wu’s eyes twinkled with a subtle smile as she glanced over at Shi Lingyan, "Has she recognized ?"
Shi Lingyan’s eyes were warm and his brows gentle as he took her hand, following her lead, "It seems so," he said.
"This is awkward," Tang Wu moved closer, her expression a mix of amusent and scorn, "I wanted to surprise you, but you saw through it so quickly, how dull."
For the first ti, Bai Yuejie hated that she could remain conscious at a ti like this, and even more terrifying was that deep within her heart, apart from panic, there was not much surprise.
Perhaps, in the deepest part of her heart, she had known the answer all along but was reluctant to face it.
Thus, the shock was not enough to make her lose her composure, but the ntal blow was substantial.
Tang Wu quickly stood in front of Bai Yuejie, her delicate brows slightly raised, a mix of mirth and severity on her face, "But then again, it’s fine. It saves the trouble of keeping up the mystery, which is exhausting."
"You..." Tears filled Bai Yuejie’s eyes, and with a gentle blink, they suddenly dropped, "Xiao Wu, you’re still alive... Is this a dream?"
"Not at all," Tang Wu shook her head gently, a wicked curve to her lips, "You’re not dreaming. I am indeed standing before you, but I’m just borrowing Shi i’s body to see you, that’s all."
Her tone was light, but by the end, it was laced with severity.
Those words turned Bai Yuejie’s face even paler, her chest heaving.
What kind of person could borrow soone else’s body to et others?
This was a ghost!
Bai Yuejie’s breathing beca more and more rapid, the fog in her oxygen mask lingering for a long ti.
Seeing her reaction, Tang Wu clicked her tongue lightly, "Look at you, you weren’t this cowardly when you killed soone. What, did you use up all your courage three years ago?"
"No... not ..."
"What about you?" Tang Wu pressed closer, "You weren’t the one who killed , or... wasn’t it your heart that was transplanted? "
Bai Yuejie desperately tried to shrink back, to the point where her eyes were rolling back and she seed to be struggling to hold on.
Tang Wu chuckled, "Don’t faint now. Liu Kang and Bai Zhengyuan are both waiting for you to save them."
With her words, Bai Yuejie’s consciousness was sowhat pulled back to reality.
Tang Wu stood up straight and spoke in a soothing tone, "Bai Zhengyuan has been detained by the police for intentionally murdering his wife. Liu Kang is suspected of being involved in smuggling and murder, and everything’s a ss. Fei’er has spilled all your secrets, including how you tricked into his clinic for a check-up, how you faked the car accident, and all the details about how you lured Shi i for the check-up and the transplant surgery. Everything. Now Bai Family’s stock prices are plumting, on the verge of collapse, Liu Kang’s underground power has been completely cleared by the police, the evidence is irrefutable..."
