When Shi i entered, the beautiful woman who looked as young as Dongfang Xuanya’s own sister glanced over at her.

Those beautiful eyes betrayed no hint that she was a woman nearing her fifties.

In the instant she saw Shi i, the beautiful woman’s gaze slightly paused, showing evident amazent.

Dongfang Xuanya, noticing the change in her mother’s gaze, felt sowhat proud and, linking arms with Shi i, moved forward, saying, "Mommy, this is who I told you about, Ling Yan’s fiancée. Isn’t she very nice?"

Madam Dongfang, seeing her daughter burgeoning with pride, let her gaze circle just around her before returning to Shi i.

Shi i’s appearance was simply too exquisite.

Her features were slightly deep-set, and though she had sowhat of a baby face, the temperant between her brows held no trace of naivety.

While Madam Dongfang was looking at Shi i, Shi i was also observing her.

Madam Dongfang had the typical beauty of an eastern woman; her forehead was broad and full, with phoenix eyes, high cheekbones, and well-spaced eyes. Her makeup was subtly applied, giving her an aura of dignified elegance. Just by sitting there, her presence effortlessly captured the spotlight.

Facing Madam Dongfang’s frank gaze, Shi i smiled politely and said, "Hello, I am Dongfang’s roommate. My na is Shi i."

Only then did Madam Dongfang curb the amazent in her eyes and replied with a slight smile.

However, the more she looked at this young, unfamiliar girl, the more familiar Madam Dongfang felt she was.

But where had she seen her before?

In the shift of her gaze, Madam Dongfang discreetly moved her eyes away and said, "You’ve had a hard ti these days. Our Xuanya has been quite the handful; she must have been quite the disturbance."

"Not at all, I have always been quite calm, you know!" Dongfang Xuanya protested, tugging at Shi i, "Right, Shi i?"

Shi i chuckled, "Yes, quite calm. We get along harmoniously. She does her things, and I do mine. There’s been no disturbance."

Madam Dongfang looked at Shi i, her face betraying no emotions, nodded, and said, "I used to know Ling Yan’s mother back in the day; I’ve t him a few tis when he was very young. Later, after his mother’s incident, I permanently settled in M Country and didn’t get much chance to et him. Are you and he..."

"Fiancés," Dongfang Xuanya interjected.

Madam Dongfang shot her a glance, "I wasn’t asking you."

"I am his girlfriend now; we are not yet officially engaged," Shi i said with a smile.

Madam Dongfang nodded, "He’s an outstanding child. Our old man has always been keen on having our Xuanya try to get to know him better..."

"Mommy!" Dongfang Xuanya quickly interjected, "What are you talking about? We’ve seen each other less than three tis since we were kids!"

Madam Dongfang chuckled, "Why the hurry? It’s not who’s suggesting it; these are your grandfather’s wishes." Continuing as if talking to herself, Madam Dongfang murmured, "Although Ling Yan is quite exceptional, he’s not soone just anybody can manage."

"I certainly can’t manage him," Dongfang Xuanya muttered, "He was so aloof as a kid, and even more fierce as he grew up. Just the other day I was scared by him; his look was as if he wanted to tear apart!"
