"Oh, what’s the rush," Grandma Shi continued to hold Shi i’s arms and called out, "Senior Sister and I hit it off imdiately. Wanting to spend the night together is nothing new; your grandfather is probably used to it by now, it’s completely understandable."
The direction this conversation is taking seems to suggest she has no intention of letting her go?
Shi Lingyan’s expression suddenly darkened further.
Shi i turned her head and sneaked a peek at Shi Lingyan’s facial expression, barely holding back a giggle.
Shi Lingyan knew the old lady was doing it on purpose, and no longer restrained himself. He stepped forward and pulled Shi i’s arm away, saying, "Grandpa may understand, but I don’t. Grandma, it’s getting late, please go rest soon, don’t delay your grandson’s lifelong happiness."
"Eh, you child, how can you say that? Grandma is also thinking about your happiness, and I’m just trying to woo your wife to keep her around, but now you’re saying Grandma is delaying your lifelong happiness. I’m wronged!"
With that, she seed to want to argue back, righteous indignation on her face.
Shi Lingyan just felt a headache coming on when he heard Shi i say, "Grandma, it is indeed late today. You should rest well. I’ll co to visit you tomorrow, and since you ntioned wanting to go out, I’ll accompany you tomorrow afternoon."
"Sure thing! Let’s do that. We’ll go out together tomorrow afternoon," Grandma Shi readily agreed, eager for the opportunity to bond.
Shi i curved her lips in a smile and nodded.
Shi Lingyan finally realized his place in the pecking order, feeling sowhat gloomy for a mont.
But then he quickly took Shi i by the hand and headed out, fearing that if the old lady got another whim to keep Shi i back, it would be troubleso.
After leaving the old house, Shi i said, "It seems there’s so new discovery on Gao Lian’s end."
"Where is he?"
"He sent an address."
Shi Lingyan’s eyes narrowed, he started the car, and then drove towards the address Shi i had given him.
Unexpectedly, they arrived at a street with old-ti stores. Buildings in this area were small, not tall, with few high-rises. All were single-story houses and had the distinctive feel of old Yan City neighborhoods.
Shi Lingyan followed the navigation and drove in. Luckily, the car he had today was just an Audi, a brand many recognized, but few could estimate its value, so not many bystanders were around.
Finally finding a place to park, Shi Lingyan got out of the car with Shi i and located the house number Gao Lian had given.
They knocked on the door, and soon, it was opened by soone inside.
The doors of the old house were wooden and looked very ancient. There was also a slight scent of decay in the air.
Gao Lian opened the door, looked at them, then bent down to push open the iron gate in front of him, saying, "Co on in."
"Are you living here?" Shi Lingyan asked with a touch of disdain.
The door was really small, not even eighty centiters wide, with a threshold half the height of a lower leg, and it looked pretty old.
Quickly, Shi Lingyan realized that the inside was a different world compared to the dilapidated exterior.
Contrary to the shabby exterior, the interior was clean and tidy.
Gao Lian took a drag on his cigarette, "This is our base. There’s not much surveillance nearby, and not many people live here, pretty hidden, right?"
