Upon hearing such a delighted exclamation from Grandma Shi,
Shi i was quiet for a mont, hesitated, and then said, "Sort of."
"Oh my!" Grandma’s voice sounded extrely thrilled. "Either you are or you aren’t, are you two living together now?"
"Yes..."
"Oh my, oh my," Grandma Shi was overjoyed, fearing she might scare the daughter-in-law that Ling Yan had hardly managed to bring ho. She quickly covered the phone, let out a few loud laughs of ecstasy, then continued on the phone, "Oh, Senior Sister, you have no idea how devoted our grandson is. He has finally taken a liking to you. You must treat him well, and never bully or disdain him. Do you still rember ? We t a few tis before!"
Last ti, it was quite a coincidence that she ran into Senior Sister lying to Ling Yan about being pregnant, which wrongly elated the elderly lady.
Later, when Ling Yan explained that it was all a misunderstanding, she didn’t believe it.
At that ti, Ling Yan didn’t seem to like Senior Sister, yet who knew they would eventually end up together.
This must be fate playing tricks!
Shi i replied, "I rember."
How could she possibly forget?
After all, she had lived at the Shi Family ho for nearly half a year.
Yet Grandma Shi, unaware of Shi i’s true identity, was thrilled and said, "Isn’t it marvelous how fate works? Those ant to be together will end up together. I’ve always felt that you and our boy were destined to be together. I see you as a talented and substantial person. When you have ti, why don’t you co over to our house with Ling Yan?"
Toward the end of her statent, Grandma Shi’s voice softened a bit, sounding rather cautious, almost as if she was afraid of being rejected.
Shi i certainly noticed it, paused for a mont, and said, "I’ve been quite busy recently, handling many things myself. How about this, when I find so ti, I’ll let Ah Ling inform you, alright?"
"Well!" Grandma Shi never really expected Senior Sister to agree.
Hearing this response, she was already quite surprised, "Let’s settle on that then, I’ll talk to Ling Yan about it later, but, where is Ling Yan?"
"He’s gone to wash his face."
"Oh my," Grandma Shi’s smile was uncontrollably radiant, "That’s good, that’s very good! By the way, I’ve always called you Senior Sister and don’t even know your real na. Could you tell Grandma?"
"Uh, well," Shi i chuckled dryly. She was worried that if she revealed her na, Grandma might stop talking to her. Just as she hesitated, Grandma Shi spoke, "No worries, no worries, it’s alright. We have plenty of ti ahead. Whenever you’re ready, just co over to our house with Ling Yan. Our door is always open for you!"
For her grandson to win over his beloved, the elderly woman’s sacrifices were quite significant.
Shi i felt moved by Grandma Shi’s significant change and responded, "Okay, Grandma."
Her call of ’Grandma’ made Grandma Shi’s heart lt with joy, her face beaming with the brightness of spring, "How old are you now?"
"Twenty... three, almost twenty-four."
"So young! What do your parents do?"
"Uh, well..." Military officers?
No...
Shi i thought for a mont, "My parents passed away early."
"Oh..." Grandma Shi showed a hint of regret, "I see, that’s how it is. Oh, our Ling Yan also lost his parents early. Who else do you have in your family?"
