Shi i quickly changed her clothes and walked out the door, not even bothering to dry her hair.
It was already past eleven o’clock at night, and it was still sowhat cold.
As soon as Shi i stepped outside, a gust of cold wind blew straight into her face, turning her damp hair instantly as if grazing it with a layer of frost, sending shivers down her spine.
It was that gust of wind that sobered Shi i up considerably.
Whether Shi Lingyan was alive or dead, what did it have to do with her?
This guy always had a plan for everything, how could he possibly joke about his own health?
Impossible.
Most likely, it was Tang Jingming deceiving her, probably wanting to lure her to see him?
Tang probably also knew that no matter what, she would, out of regard for Grandma Shi and Grandpa Shi, be unable to ignore the matter, right?
Shi i’s mind was in turmoil, she exhaled, and hailed a taxi with her hand.
After getting in the cab, Shi i made a call to the Shi Mansion far away in Yan City.
Shi Lingyan had been orphaned since childhood and was raised by his grandparents.
It wasn’t easy for the elderly couple to raise him to this age, luckily Shi Lingyan was filial and almost always obeyed his grandparents’ words.
Now, only they could truly control him.
But then she suddenly thought that Grandpa Shi and Grandma Shi were old and slept early, so calling at this ti might wake them up. Shi i hesitated for a mont and then put her cell phone down.
It’s better not to make this call for now, she thought. She would go see what the situation was and then decide.
Perhaps it was just Tang, that unreliable guy, tricking her.
Shi i thought to herself that later she would call Shi Lingyan out and tell him that she had risked her life to save him, not for him to waste his own life away.
And tell him that she had already called Grandpa Shi and Grandma Shi. They were elderly and kind to her; she couldn’t just let the Shi Family’s only heir continue to indulge in self-destructive behaviors.
The two places weren’t far apart, and the taxi soon arrived at their destination.
Shi i took a deep breath and quickly entered their private room.
Through the thick door, Shi i could hear the noise and laughter inside.
The mont she pushed open the door, the raucous laughter abruptly stopped, all activities ceased, and everyone turned to look in Shi i’s direction.
As soon as she slled the strong scent of tobacco and alcohol inside, the words she had prepared instantly vanished!
Anger flared up in Shi i’s heart. Her gaze effortlessly locked onto Shi Lingyan in the corner amidst the crowd.
This was one of Xu Cuo’s gatherings, and they were having a blast. Shi i’s sudden entrance left him stunned.
Subconsciously glancing at Shi Lingyan, Xu Cuo effortlessly noticed that when Shi Lingyan saw her, the corners of his lips lifted silently.
In those deep and dark eyes was nothing but the confidence of soone who had everything under control. Within an instant, he seemingly casually lifted the cup in his hand, quickly concealing any trace of emotion in his eyes.
Shi Lingyan had only sipped a little and refused to drink any more despite persuasion. But now, what the hell was he doing, picking up the cup to drink?
Before Xu Cuo could process what was happening, he heard an explosive roar, "Shi Lingyan!!"
At the entrance stood Shi i, her face white and clean, seething with intense anger.
Xu Cuo only felt her black hair, dark as ink, fluttering past his eyes, and the next second, he saw her snatch the wine glass from Shi Lingyan’s hand and smash it rcilessly to the ground.
Everyone was startled.
Only Shi Lingyan’s expression remained very calm.
He seed neither sad nor happy, giving her an emotionless glance, his voice devoid of warmth, "What are you doing?"
