Tang Wu’s parents were both soldiers.

Her father was a general, and her mother had been a cultural soldier who, after being discharged, devoted herself to supporting her husband and raising her children.

Grandma Shi, however, was an old artist good at singing and dancing.

Her expertise was in classical musical instrunts, and she danced folk dances.

From a young age, Tang Wu was steeped in a musical environnt and was very sensitive to music.

She learned the guqin and lute as a child but, as she grew up, rebelliously turned to playing rock music, much to the elders’ frustration.

Perhaps she was just lucky, for after Tang Wu ford her band, they shot to fa imdiately.

Even when she was with Ling Yan, Old Lady Shi had completely regarded her as a granddaughter-in-law.

Thus, every year for the old lady’s birthday, Tang Wu would prepare a performance.

But now...

Shi i was slightly bewildered for a mont.

She hadn’t even realized when Bai Yuejie had stopped.

Her head bumped into Bai Yuejie’s back, and Shi i’s heart suddenly raced.

Bai Yuejie... had a heart condition!

Shi i instantly looked up, wanting to check on Bai Yuejie’s condition.

It was an instinctive reaction.

But as she looked up, she t Bai Yuejie’s aningful gaze.

Shi i suddenly realized.

No, this was wrong.

Right now, she was being foolish!

Shi i, who had just raised her hand, abruptly veered off, covering her shoulder that had bumped into Bai Yuejie, pouting and frowning at her.

Her expression was pitiful, but her heart was pounding wildly.

Why had Bai Yuejie suddenly stopped?

Was she testing her?

Could it be that she had started to suspect?

Shi i, observing her, saw inquiry and deep thought fill Bai Yuejie’s eyes.

Bai Yuejie’s gaze seed to hold a different emotion as she slowly spoke, "Grandma Shi’s birthday is next month, have you thought about what gift to give her?"

Shi i’s previously tensed heart quietly relaxed a bit.

With an innocent look on her face, she asked, "Birthday? Will there be cake?"

Bai Yuejie smiled and nodded, "Of course there will be cake for Grandma Shi’s birthday, so you need to prepare a gift."

"Hmm, a gift!" Shi i pulled out the large black card she had just talked about, "I can give Grandma my black card!"

Bai Yuejie looked at Shi i’s silly deanor, feeling both sympathy and amusent.

But more than that, she was reveling in her misfortune.

Facing such a wife, Ling Yan would never be interested in her.

She was just a decoration.

"That should work," Bai Yuejie said with a gentle smile, laden with anings not clear to the wise, "Then you should give her that."

"Heeheehee," Shi i chuckled happily, "Grandma will definitely like it!"

Bai Yuejie’s smile deepened, her eyes coldly amused as she continued, "However, you are not the granddaughter-in-law Grandma Shi likes. Whatever you give, she might not like it."

Shi i’s face fell instantly.

"Do you know Tang Wu?" Bai Yuejie’s voice was soft, "She is the granddaughter-in-law that Grandma Shi likes."

Shi i’s heart that had just relaxed now completely eased.

Yet she couldn’t help but scoff inwardly.

This was Bai Yuejie’s purpose for this ’accidental’ eting, wasn’t it?

Shi i’s face showed anger, "That’s not true, I am!"

Seeing her fall for the bait, Bai Yuejie continued to coax, "You are not; Tang Wu is beautiful and can both sing and dance. Brother Yan likes her, not you."

Here it was.

This was her goal.

Shi i pouted, her voice turning whiny, "No, it’s not true!"

The nearly foolish dialogue comforted Bai Yuejie.

If Tang Wu had been in front of her now, she truly wouldn’t have any way to make her disappear from the Shi Family.

Indeed, fools were easier to handle.
