"Was it her who saved ?" Shi Lingyan’s voice was light, yet it couldn’t hide his shock.
Grandpa Shi nodded.
Shi Lingyan felt his mind was a bit chaotic and recalled with a frown, "Didn’t I leave her at the rest stop?"
Grandpa Shi sighed softly, "She followed you."
Shi Lingyan blinked, "She caught up?"
"She probably thought you abandoned her, chased your car for a long ti, and then was taken away by two people," Grandpa Shi said succinctly, sighing again.
"Taken away?" Shi Lingyan didn’t know about these things.
Hearing Grandpa Shi say that, his mind went blank.
"Enough," Grandma Shi said discontentedly, "Ling Yan has just woken up, why are you telling him this now? Anyway, Shi i has left and is unlikely to co back. We gave her such a good life. This ti she saved Ling Yan, and we didn’t shortchange her in alimony, so we’re even."
Grandpa Shi was a little displeased, "How can you say that? If it weren’t for Shi i’s tily awareness, Shi i would have been killed. Those two n were no good, it was fortunate they were dealt with."
Shi Lingyan’s headache intensified, he asked, "So, where is she now?"
"She’s gone," Grandma Shi said with a face full of dissatisfaction. "Ingrate, taking the money you gave her and throwing it into the bottomless pit of the Shi family. That family is full of fraud and debt evasion, leaving all their phone calls to our house—it’s just a family of deadbeats. It’s good that we divorced them in ti; I don’t want to deal with them anymore. They disgust ."
Grandpa Shi felt sowhat helpless, "You know she’s not like them..."
"No matter how different, she grew up in the sa nest. How good can she be?" Grandma Shi beca angrier as she spoke. "The earlier Shi i was better. Now that she’s returned to normal, her brain isn’t working right. I heard she’s giving them money again; she’s nearly cleared their debts. Yet they go around boasting that they’re related to our family because Shi i saved Ling Yan’s life. The only reason they managed to pay off their debts is because their daughter married a good husband. It’s infuriating!"
Grandma Shi seed genuinely angry and unable to contain it, even glaring at Grandpa Shi, "It’s all your fault!"
Grandpa Shi looked completely innocent, unable to hold back a laugh, "What does this have to do with ?"
Grandma Shi couldn’t say, sulking alone.
Shi Lingyan felt overwheld.
He sorted through Grandma’s words; it seed like Shi i had reverted to her old ways after recovering?
But Shi Lingyan faintly felt it wouldn’t be that simple.
Not to ntion anything else, just by the strength of Shi i’s voice, almost indistinguishable from Senior Sister’s, he felt that Shi i shouldn’t be a pushover.
He wanted to see her.
After seeing her, everything should have an answer.
Shi Lingyan looked at his irate grandmother and spoke softly, "Could you contact her for , Grandma? I want to see her."
"No way!" Grandma Shi stood up. "She’s an ingrate! We must make a clear distinction with her. I have barely freed myself from them after being disgusted for so long; you want to drag them back into my life? No way!"
Grandpa Shi couldn’t help but smile wryly, "Shi i is Shi i, and the Shi family is the Shi family..."
"How can that be? Go say to others, ’Shi Lingyan is Shi Lingyan, the Shi family is the Shi family,’ see who will listen to you?" Grandma Shi folded her arms. "Besides, she’s clear-headed now; don’t forget, she had a boyfriend before too, hmph!"
