Shi Lingyan reacted extrely quickly, pressing down on the ergency brake, causing the car to shake violently.

Shi i had no idea how long she had slept, but with a sudden lurch forward by the car, she rolled off the backseat without any warning.

"Ah!"

Shi i fell hard, tears almost coming out, and without even opening her eyes, she yelled loudly, "What are you doing!"

Her voice still carried the nasal tones of sleepiness and a trace of coquettish complaint, opening her eyes only to realize the weather didn’t seem too good today—it was already past seven, yet it was still dark around.

The car had already stopped, and Shi i got up from the ground, muttering, "Can’t you drive? You almost killed ..."

The agony in Shi Lingyan’s shoulders was excruciatingly clear.

At this mont, his arm had gone numb, and the severe pain made his left hand unmovable.

Despite this, Shi Lingyan still managed with great effort to grasp the steering wheel with his right hand, his lips tightly clenched, silent.

Shi i had mustered her energy and looked forward.

At first glance, she saw speckles of fresh red blood on the windshield.

Shi i suddenly beca much more alert, looking at him and asked, "Where did the blood co from?"

Shi Lingyan didn’t turn his head, his voice sowhat low, "Accidentally hit a bird."

"A bird?"

Shi i thought it was ridiculous.

It’s not like they were flying—how could they hit a bird?

But upon opening the window and hearing the crisp chirping around, Shi i beca sowhat skeptical, stretching and yawning.

Shi Lingyan restarted the car and swiftly returned to the right track, but suddenly, ’thud’—a bullet hit right behind Shi Lingyan, bored through the tough, good-quality driver’s seat, creating a hole.

Shi Lingyan broke out in a cold sweat, glanced inadvertently at the bullet hole, and noticed it entered at a tricky angle, diagonally.

If he hadn’t corrected the car’s course quickly, that bullet... might have hit Shi i.

The thought was terrifying; Shi Lingyan stepped on the accelerator, and the car rocketed off.

Shi i was in the middle of a yawn when the sound on the glass drew her attention, but before she could see anything clearly, she was violently thrown forward.

Her nose hit the seat hard, both sour and painful.

Shi i’s tears ca out, and she rubbed her nose, whimpering in a grievance, "You..."

But Shi Lingyan, from beginning to end, never looked back, watching the road ahead, his lips tightly clenched, his forehead covered in cold sweat.

His gaze observing all around, Shi Lingyan finally noticed a figure standing unabashedly with a hunting rifle aid at them from the bushes midway up the hill above their heads.

Indeed, the deanor of Shi Lingyan darkened further as he furiously pressed the gas pedal, the car’s speed already over a hundred miles per hour, instantly shooting up to two hundred.

Shi i, terrified, grabbed the seat, and exclaid angrily, "Slow down!"

But as she looked up, she noticed a hole had sohow appeared in the middle of the glass.

A small hole with fine cracks spreading around it, through which the fierce mountain air was violently pouring inside.

Shi i had an ominous feeling.

Soon, they exited the mountain road, and more cars appeared.

When they reached a rest stop, a large tour bus pulled over, and tourists stread out continuously.

Shi Lingyan finally stopped the car, his voice hoarse, "Get out."

Shi i sensed sothing was off, leaned over, and imdiately saw the cold sweat on his forehead and his pale face.

Instinctively wanting to touch his forehead, but he slapped her hand away.

"I’m hungry," Shi Lingyan said in a low, husky voice, "go buy so food."
