Shi i moved quickly, and after entering the room, she grabbed the little items she had bought while shopping with Ye Tiao.

Grandma Shi used to dance frequently when she was young, which led to aching joints whenever the weather turned cold now that she was older.

She had always been busy with work and wanted to buy knee pads for the elderly, but she never had ti to shop and had to ask her assistant to buy them.

Shi i had seen them on the roadside last ti, so she had bought a pair on impulse.

Grandpa, on the other hand, always liked strongly flavored foods, which led to so high blood pressure problems in his old age, making it hard to give up little snacks.

Shi i had tasted so jerky and squid strips from a store the last ti that were really nice—they were free of salt and sugar, truly original in flavor, and she knew Grandpa would love them.

After stuffing these items into her bag, Shi i realized just how small the bag was.

Just fitting in a pair of ethnic-style knee pads already filled two-thirds of it, and after adding the vacuum-packed snacks, there was absolutely no space left, let alone for gifts for her parents.

She had no choice but to take out the knee pads and put them in her pocket.

Shi i ran out, first looking for Grandma Shi.

Grandma Shi was sitting on the sofa waiting for her and couldn’t help but chuckle when she saw Shi i peeking around, joking, "You little sly one, were you afraid I’d run away?"

Shi i bounced over, laughing and clinging to Grandma Shi’s arm, exclaiming, "Grandma, you’re the best!"

Grandma Shi’s face blood with joy, and Uncle Yang couldn’t help but smile, soon picking up the car keys and taking them to the Tang Family ho.

Old Chief Tang had made significant achievents when he was young, and the elderly couple had scrimped and saved to buy this residence.

After the reforms and opening up, the area had been designated as a national conservation area, becoming one of Yan City’s most culturally unique attractions.

Every ti Grandma Shi visited, she felt her own ho lacked in taste.

Inside and out, top to bottom, the Tang household was filled with the flavor of Old Xia Country, appearing humble and ancient, but the details revealed the hoowner’s refinent and ticulousness.

Granny Tang had been a prized mber of the cultural troupe, not only skilled in singing and dancing but also proficient in several classical musical instrunts.

The lute was one of the instrunts she excelled at, followed by the guqin. She was also a master of dance, soft and graceful, though she no longer danced due to her age.

But the instrunts, she never ceased playing.

As Shi i approached the Tang house, she heard the familiar sound of the lute even before entering.

It was a tune she had never heard before, drifting through the courtyard where children aged from three to teenagers gathered around Granny Tang, and even won holding children sat by.

These were all neighbors, and to witness such a harmonious and friendly scene in today’s society had beco quite rare.

Granny Tang, looking younger and more radiant than most elders, quietly played the lute with a gentle smile, serene and kind.

anwhile, Grandpa Tang sat in a pavilion behind her, playing chess and drinking tea with another elderly man.

He would occasionally glance over at his wife, always with a smile on his face.

This scene was peaceful and harmonious.

As Uncle Yang’s car stopped, Granny Tang looked up, and upon seeing Grandma Shi, she smiled warmly, "You’ve arrived."

Watching this long-missed scene unfold before her, Shi i felt a genuine joy that welled up deep inside, catching in her throat.
