Shi i dodged the knife’s glare in dismay, her heart pounding.
The person wore a green mask and a green hat, blending into the trees behind them as if they were one.
Barely avoiding a strike, Shi i looked at the person and felt a vague sense of familiarity.
But it was just familiarity. Shi i was too busy dodging to think about anything else.
She saw Tang Gu stumbling as he fled and she yelled, "Call for help, save !"
Tang Gu stiffened and turned around. His face showed hesitation, but he soon clenched his teeth and ran off quickly.
Right after Shi i’s shout, she was caught off guard and brutally slamd to the ground.
The man clearly intended to leave her no chance of survival, he swung his knife with full force!
The rising morning sun shone through gaps in the branches. Golden speckles hit the sharp blade, dazzling the eyes.
Shi i tensed up, gasping for air.
In front of her was the sharp tip of the knife, aid at her left eye.
If it struck, death was certain!
Shi i clenched her teeth and grabbed his hand, but a woman’s strength was no match for a man’s. Despite biting hard enough to draw blood, the knife tip only got closer and closer...
"Ah!" Shi i scread, using all her strength to flip herself over.
The man was caught off guard and flipped over by her. Surprise flashed in his eyes but it was montary, and he quickly regained his senses.
Shi i scrambled forward. In a critical mont, she saw a slope ahead.
Gasping heavily, she counterattacked and grabbed the man’s waist from behind, screaming as she tried to grab his knife.
The man had not expected this seemingly frail woman to be agile and possess a sense of fight. She wore him out more than usual with her relentless assault.
No, this had to end quickly!
Just as he raised his hand to strike again, the crazy woman suddenly embraced him and plunged towards the valley below!
Unprepared, they tumbled down like a rolling ball.
Shi i saw stars and suddenly felt sothing blocking her fall.
It must have been the man hitting a rock or a tree.
Luckily, the slope wasn’t steep, just about ten ters or so, and the grass was thick.
Shi i clambered up, stumbling, and imdiately saw the man lying in the grass moaning. His mask was now stained with blood, and a long wound between his eyes and nose was bleeding heavily—it looked serious.
Seizing the opportunity, Shi i picked up the dagger that had fallen next to him, pulled him up forcefully, and made him lie face-down on the ground, pressing her knee into his back.
The dagger rested across his neck, already drawing blood.
When the man finally ca to, and saw his plight, he gasped weakly, "What do you want to do?"
He didn’t believe she would dare kill.
It was probably just a scare tactic.
So, even with the dagger at his neck, he wasn’t the least bit panicky.
Shi i asked, "You wanted to kill , who sent you?"
The man sneered, "Soone who wants you dead."
Shi i scoffed coldly, suddenly removing the dagger from his neck.
Just as the man was puzzled, he felt an intense pain in the back of his thigh.
"Ah!"
His scream echoed through the valley.
Shi i pulled out the bloodied dagger and viciously stabbed it into the ground in front of him, making him tremble violently.
Drops of blood trickled down the blade into the grass, causing him to convulse in pain as he stared at the blade, his leg aching even more.
Above him, her voice ca leisurely, "This really is a fine knife, but I wonder if it would hurt if I stabbed it into your neck. Why don’t you try it first?"
