When couples argue, won often say things that leave n speechless and exasperated. Many might think this is a problem.

In reality, they probably know they’re being unreasonable, but they’d never admit it out loud.

So what’s their goal?

It’s not to hear you lecture them about logic, nor is it to give you the silent treatnt. What they want is emotional validation—just coax them a little, and it’ll be fine. ᴛʜɪs ᴄʜᴀᴘᴛᴇʀ ɪs ᴜᴘᴅᴀᴛᴇ ʙʏ novelꜰire

Of course, you can’t just coax blindly.

If you keep saying things like:

"Why are you angry?"

"Can you say sothing?"

"I don’t understand what you’re saying."

"How dare you say I don’t get you?"

"Haven’t I done enough?"

"Can you stop acting like this?"

"What will make you happy?"

"Fine, fine, I’m sorry, okay?"

…then you’re only headed for one of two outcos:

Either the silent treatnt, or a vicious cycle.

So when a girl picks a fight with you, at least follow the "Three Don’ts": don’t be cold, don’t ignore her, and don’t lose your patience.

If even that’s too hard, there’s another way.

Just slap her, then let the brawl begin. After all, whether you fight now or later, it’s inevitable—might as well get it over with early.

But Lin Ran couldn’t bear to lay a finger on Luo Yao, not even a single hair.

"Yao Yao, I’m sorry. I thought I was being attentive enough, but I still made you feel neglected. I’m sorry for being human, wuuuuu—"

Lin Ran threw himself on the ground, pounding his chest, rolling around, and throwing a full-blown tantrum. Not only was Luo Yao stunned, but so were Uncle Fu, Jiang Feihua, and the servants nearby.

This was the first ti they’d seen Lin Ran like this. They wanted to laugh but didn’t dare.

Luo Yao, however, curled her lips into a faint smile.

"Ah Ran is so unpredictable… so cute."

Uncle Fu, Jiang Feihua, and the servants: ???

Cute?

Isn’t this just pure clown behavior?

"Alright, I won’t bla Ah Ran anymore. Don’t be sad, okay?"

Lin Ran imdiately scrambled up with a silly grin.

"I knew my Yao Yao wouldn’t stay mad at . You’re the best."

Satisfied, Luo Yao finally answered Lin Ran’s earlier question. "I’m preparing to hit Samsung with a big move, so they won’t last much longer."

What big move?

Exposing the true nature of Qian Yinshang and her son, as well as Park Gukgi’s current condition.

Park Gukgi wasn’t doing well at all. He was locked in a hidden basent in Shanghai, treated like a dog, with all four limbs crippled.

Qian Yinshang had originally planned to just finish him off, but she kept him alive thinking he might still be useful later.

This was why you had to go all the way when dealing with enemies.

In the dim basent, a rusty food bowl clattered to the ground, filled with nothing but leftover rice—not even a single vegetable.

But for Park Gukgi, survival was all that mattered now.

He couldn’t die. He still had to take revenge.

Dragging himself to the bowl, he began eating the cold rice with his mouth, bite by bite. The shadowy figure in front of him hadn’t left.

"Want to get out?"

The figure spoke. Park Gukgi froze. He hadn’t expected today’s visitor to actually talk to him—and from the voice, it was a woman, probably young.

"If I say yes, will you really let go?"

The woman nodded.

"I can let you go and even send you back to South Korea. But what will you do once you’re back?"

Park Gukgi’s eyes widened in disbelief as he stared at the shadow.

"Revenge. I want revenge."

"Your stepmother and brother are already using Arican capital to pressure your father. Even if you go back now, you can’t change the situation. So you only have one path forward."

"What?"

The woman narrowed her eyes.

"Work with —and send them all to prison."

Park Gukgi didn’t agree imdiately. Instead, he grew wary. Days of tornt hadn’t stripped him of his rationality.

"What do you want in return?"

The woman nodded approvingly. "Not bad. Even in this state, you can still think straight. Impressive. My demand is simple: Qian Yinshang, her son, and your father have all offended my boss. You just need to crush them, and I’ll set you free."

Park Gukgi: "To what extent?"

"What do you think?"

After a long pause, Park Gukgi agreed.

rcy to the enemy was cruelty to oneself—he understood that well.

The woman had him carried out on a stretcher. Once outside, Park Gukgi was shocked to see the basent guards lying unconscious on the ground.

His trust in his rescuer grew. He wanted to see who had saved him. When he looked up—

He saw an angel.

"You’re Liu ng? I know you."

Liu ng nodded. As Samsung’s crown prince—and a capable one at that—it made sense he’d done his howork on Luo Yao’s inner circle.

The most suitable successor for Samsung was actually this broken man in front of her. The biggest difference between him and Park Gukchang was that he had brains, ability, and resilience.

"Thank you for saving ."

"Just don’t forget our deal."

With that, Liu ng leaned down and gently traced a finger along Park Gukgi’s cheek.

"Poor thing. I hope you recover soon and complete your revenge."

Park Gukgi felt his blood freeze as he stared at the woman in a daze.

"I will. I promise."

Liu ng gave him one last "sympathetic" look before leading him away.

After they left, the "unconscious" guards upstairs all stood up.

"Mission complete. Let’s go."

The place returned to its usual silence, as if no one had ever been there.

Beijing Early that morning, Luo Yao went to Luo Corporation, where preparations for the annual eting were in full swing.

anwhile, Lin Ran drove a low-key Bugatti Veyron to the hospital.

Wang Anjian was now allowed visitors, though only for short periods.

Lin Ran prepared himself and entered the ward, where Wang Anjian was already waiting.

"Brother Lin Ran, you’re here."

Lin Ran nodded.

"Anjian, I was outside waiting for you during your surgery."

Wang Anjian still looked pale and weak after the operation, but his smile never faded when he saw Lin Ran.

"Did you stay the whole ti, Brother Lin Ran?"

Lin Ran felt a twinge of guilt but opted for a white lie.

"Of course."

Well, it wasn’t a complete lie—he hadn’t left the hospital, after all.
