Old Master Jiang was fuming with anger. This was the first ti Adrienne had blatantly disrespected him. Adriene used to be submissive and hated confrontations, but sothing had changed in her. She had found her voice and was no longer willing to be silenced.

This newfound assertiveness surprised and infuriated Old Master Jiang as he struggled to accept the shift in this change. It would have been better if Adrienne had agreed to marry Alistair Han to secure their company and future, but she was unwilling.

Adrienne hadn’t visited him or seen her for the past three years, and he wondered what made her turn like this. She t his eyes head-on and refused to back down. It was clear to him that his granddaughter wasn’t willing to cooperate with them to save their family business from the brink of bankruptcy.

Old Master Jiang heaved a deep breath. Of course, the news of her relationship with Lennox Qin reached him. Lennox Qin was an enigma in the business world. Rumors had it that he had connections with the underworld. Yet he was one of the most successful businessn in the country. Old Master Jiang had heard about his ruthless tactics and wondered what Adrienne saw in him.

He looked at Adrienne again, who stood tall and unyielding. Her hair was in a ssy bun, and her eyes were bright with defiance. Old Master Jiang couldn’t understand how much she had changed.

"Adrienne," he said sternly, "you know the situation of our company. We need the Han family’s support to keep our business afloat."

"And you expect to make such a sacrifice for the family?" Adrienne scoffed, "You want to break up with Lennox Qin to marry off to Alistair Han? Grandpa, I didn’t know my father was such an incompetent man. Not only did he use my mother to save the company, but he wanted to sell his daughter off this ti. Perhaps it is ti for him to step down from his position and hand it over to as the legitimate heir of the family."

"Addie, you are too young to assu his position." Her grandfather frowned. "And Mr. Han assured you wouldn’t lack anything if you married him. You are being foolish. You don’t know what’s at stake."

"I know exactly what’s at stake, Grandfather," Adrienne retorted. "I won’t compromise my happiness for the company’s sake."

Old Master Jiang’s eyes narrowed. "Lennox Qin is a dangerous man, Addie. He’s not soone you should be associating with."

Adrienne took a step forward. "I’m not a child, Grandfather. I can make my own decisions. And I choose to be with Lennox, regardless of what anyone thinks. I will not marry Alistair Han."

Her grandfather had no idea how dangerous Alistair Han was. Compared to him, Lennox was a saint. Adrienne had witnessed firsthand the dark side of Alistair Han’s character, making her resolve to be with Lennox even stronger. She knew that her happiness and safety lay in choosing Lennox over the manipulative Alistair.

Old Master Jiang’s eyes turned colder as he stared at his granddaughter. He had always known that she was stubborn when it ca to her father, but he never thought she could be so foolish.

"You are making a mistake, Addie," he said in a low voice. "Alistair Han is a powerful man, and you will regret crossing him."

Regret? Adrienne had enough of it. She had been foolish enough to marry Alistair Han in her past life. She had endured years of abuse and was determined not to repeat the sa mistake again, even if she made enemies along the way.

"I won’t regret anything," Adrienne said firmly. "I’d rather be with soone who treats with respect and love than marry soone who sees as a business deal."

Old Master Jiang sighed heavily. He knew there was no changing her mind. "Very well," he said finally. "But if anything happens to you, it will be on your head."

Adrienne nodded, knowing that her grandfather would never accept her choice, but she couldn’t hide her heart’s desires anymore. She walked out of the room with her head held high, feeling freer than she had in years.

As she walked down the hallway, her phone buzzed in her pocket. She took it out and saw a text ssage from Lennox. "et tonight," it read. "I have sothing important to tell you."

Adrienne smiled as she read the ssage. She knew Lennox and Gavin had been working on sothing, but she had no idea what it was about.

She quickly typed a reply, "Where?"

Lennox texted back the address of a fancy restaurant in the city. "Be there at eight," he wrote.

When Adrienne descended the stairs, she found her uncle pacing back and forth while Alistair looked at her with cold, piercing eyes. He must have known how her talk with her grandfather turned out.

Adrienne intended to ignore him and walked past him, but Alistair harshly grabbed her wrist. She winced in pain, until a shadow ca towards them.

She blinked in surprise when she saw her Uncle Reese throw a punch on Alistair’s face and pushed her behind his back.

"Rascal! You dare to lay your filthy hand on our Addie?!" Reese exclaid. He wanted to beat Alistair more than he had ever wanted to beat anyone before. But he restrained himself, knowing that resorting to violence wouldn’t solve anything. Instead, he focused on protecting Adrienne and getting her away from Alistair as quickly as possible.

"Too bad, Mr. Han. I can never be your wife in this lifeti or the next ones." Adrienne smirked, seeing the rage on his face. It wouldn’t be possible, despite using the entire Jiang family to pressure her.

Alistair was about to say sothing when suddenly his assistant ca in with a ghastly expression on his face. He whispered sothing in Alistair’s ear, causing Alistair’s expression to shift from rage to shock.

Adrienne watched as his features contorted with a mix of disbelief and anger. A wicked smile spread on her lips, realizing this was her husband’s doing. She relished the satisfaction of knowing that her plan had worked perfectly and that she had successfully turned the tables on him. As Alistair tried to regain his composure, Adrienne reveled in the sweet taste of revenge.

"Mr. Han is still here? Shouldn’t you be on your way now? You and I are incompatible in so many ways, Mr. Han. It would be futile to marry soone like , don’t you think?" She taunted him.

Alistair’s face turned red, his eyes shooting daggers on her. Adrienne’s words pierced through his ego, leaving him speechless and defeated. With a triumphant smirk, she turned on her heel and walked away, leaving Alistair to ponder the consequences of underestimating her.
