"Len," she whispered, "I..."

There was a mont of silence on the other end of the line, and then Lennox spoke again.

"I know you’re still not ready. Didn’t you say love is a luxury you can’t afford to have?

But I can’t help the way I feel about you, Addie. I can’t stop thinking about you, about us."

Adrienne felt her heart lt at his words. She knew that she felt the sa way about him, but she was too afraid to admit it to herself, let alone to Lennox.

"I...I don’t know, Len," she stamred. "I’m scared."

After wasting her life with a man who abused her in her past life, Adrienne wasn’t sure if she had any right to love again. She was scared to disappoint Lennox, scared that she wouldn’t be able to et his expectations. She was aware that she hadn’t been a good wife to Alistair before and feared that it would happen again with Lennox.

She was haunted by the fear of repeating past mistakes and hurting soone she cared deeply about. The weight of her insecurities made it difficult for her to fully embrace her feelings for Lennox, leaving her paralyzed with uncertainty.

Lennox sighed on the other end of the line. "I know you’re scared, Addie. I’m scared too. But we can figure this out together. Please, just give us a chance."

He wondered what could have possibly happened for Adrienne to act this way. From the mont he t her, Lennox knew her views on love and marriage were unusual. He had always admired her independent spirit and a strong sense of self, but now he questioned if those very qualities were the barriers keeping them apart.

Lennox couldn’t help but wonder if Adrienne’s fear of commitnt stemd from past heartbreak or a deep-rooted fear of vulnerability. He knew that breaking down her walls would take ti and patience, but he was willing to do whatever it took to prove his love and commitnt to her.

Adrienne closed her eyes, taking a deep breath. She knew that Lennox was right. She couldn’t keep denying the way she felt about him. She had to face her fears and take a leap of faith. The thought of being vulnerable terrified her, but she couldn’t ignore the undeniable connection they shared any longer.

"Okay," she said finally, her voice barely above a whisper. "Okay, Len. Let’s give it a chance. I will wait for your return, but don’t let wait for too long."

Lennox let out a laugh on the other end of the line, and Adrienne couldn’t help but smirk at his enthusiasm. She felt a weight lift off her shoulders, realizing that she didn’t have to go through this alone.

"Thank you, Addie," Lennox said, his voice filled with gratitude. "I promise, I won’t let you down."

Adrienne smiled. She knew that Lennox ant every word he said. She was ready to take a chance on him and see where their relationship would go.

"I know you won’t, Len," she said softly. "I trust you."

There was a long mont of silence on the other end, and then Lennox spoke up again.

"Then co see ," he said, his voice pleading. "I need to see you, Addie. It’s been too long."

Adrienne hesitated for a mont, unsure if she was ready to take that step. But then she realized that she didn’t want to waste any more ti. She needed to see him.

"Okay," she said, her voice unwavering. "I’ll co to see you."

Lennox’s voice was filled with relief. "Thank you, Addie. I can’t wait to see you."

As soon as she hung up the phone, Adrienne’s nerves kicked in. She couldn’t believe she had agreed to see Lennox. What was she going to say to him? How was she going to act? All she knew for sure was that she missed him.

She and Irina headed to Jinxiu Garden, only to see Butler Cheng and the servants busy tidying up the place, preparing for the Qin siblings’ departure.

As she ascended to the floor where the entertainnt room was, Adrienne took deep breaths to calm her nerves. She reminded herself that she had nothing to be afraid of.

When she reached the room, she could hear Noah’s cheerful voice from down the hall. She took one last deep breath and stepped inside.

Lennox’s face lit up when he saw her, and he grinned from ear to ear. Adrienne couldn’t help but smile back. He appeared extrely dashing while lounging on the couch with a blanket on his lap and his younger siblings nearby. Even Liam, who’s rarely ho, was here today.

"Addie!" Noah exclaid, his voice filled with joy. "I’m so glad you’re here."

There was a newly installed television on the wall with a movie playing on it. The room was dark, with Samantha, Scarlett, and Liam seated on the floor, with snacks and drinks in their hands.

"How could I not?" She smiled at the young boy. It seems you’re having fun here without ."

Noah grinned and nodded enthusiastically. "Yeah, we’re having a blast! We’re watching a movie marathon, and Liam even brought so popcorn for us."

Adrienne’s eyes twinkled with amusent as she settled onto the couch next to Lennox, joining in on the cozy family gathering. She took his hand in hers and felt his fingers close around hers.

"I missed you," she said softly. Lennox squeezed Adrienne’s hand gently and leaned in to give her a tender kiss on the cheek.

"I missed you too," he whispered, his voice filled with warmth and affection. The sight of their intertwined fingers brought a sense of contentnt and belonging to each other.

Adrienne smiled warmly, feeling a wave of contentnt wash over her. The laughter and joy filling the room reminded her of the cherished monts they had shared as a family. As she leaned in closer to Lennox, she couldn’t help but think that being together was truly where they belonged.
