To think that Lennox would co to the sa conclusion as her, surprised Adrienne. She didn’t think they would have quite a number of similarities despite their opposing disposition. However, thinking about it, Adrienne didn’t know Lennox much and was still discovering things about him.

"He doesn’t seem to think it is the right thing to do. Hunter is unwilling to leave my side." She answered him.

"That’s understandable. You’ve just reunited. Of course, there would be lingering regret and guilt on his side. Just give him so ti, Addie. I’m sure he’ll eventually understand your intention. He needs ti to deal with the knot in his heart." Lennox assured her, his voice had an obvious hint of exhaustion.

If he continued to be sleep deprived, it would surely leave him in a bad mood. It was already surprising that he wasn’t causing a commotion from his lack of sleep, but Adrienne heard that he was keeping a distance from the children because of this.

For soone who claid that he hated his father and half-siblings, Lennox was very considerate of Samantha and Noah. From the looks of it, the two children were starting to warm up to Lennox, forming a bond and becoming more reliant on him.

Beatrice Qiu had yet to move into the apartnt unit nearby, but Adrienne had already received her second paynt for securing Noah’s custody. She decided to put the task of locating the rest of the children on hold and focus on her studies. With her mother staying in a new hospital and being watched over by Hunter and Old Madam Zhao, the burden on her shoulder had lessen.

"I’m tired, Addie. Sleep with ?" Lennox suddenly blurted out, leaving Adrienne flabbergasted.

"Lennox Qin! What’s the aning of this?" She narrowed her eyes on him.

There was no expression on this man’s face, and she couldn’t comprehend his thoughts. They were only engaged to each other on paper, and she realized that she failed to consider the aspect of their physical intimacy during their marriage.

Lennox looked at her montarily and patted the space on his left.

"What do you think I was asking? If you want it to an sothing else, that’s fine too, but I regret I won’t be able to satisfy you in this state." The corner of his lips curled up devilishly, and Adrienne had the urge to smack his head imdiately. How could he even crack a joke at this mont?

"Co on, Addie. Don’t think I’m the only one who’s sleep deprived these days. Noah should be napping in his room now, and he wouldn’t be up for another two hours. Why don’t you take a nap as well?" Lennox urged her.

Adrienne scoffed, but the recent events, as well as her preparation for the preliminary exams, had completely exhausted her. Now that Lennox ntioned it, taking a nap sounded very tempting to her ears, but would it be alright to sleep next to him? After all, they were a man and a woman. They aren’t married yet, and certainly aren’t lovers.

However, exhaustion had already caught up with Adrienne, and it was too late for her to worry about propriety. She shed the outer coat of her school uniform and dropped it on the stool before sliding off her shoes from her feet.

"Just two hours." She told Lennox, who only smiled in return and watched as she climbed on his bed and laid on the blanket.

"Whatever you say," Lennox smiled amusedly. "Do you want to hold your hand?"

"Len, I’m not a five-year-old kid." Adrienne hissed at him. How dare he treat her like a kid?

Adrienne lay on her side, facing him. She shut her eyes, trying to fall asleep but failed.

When she opened her eyes, she found Lennox sleeping soundly beside her. She sighed inwardly and looked at his face. Despite their agreent, Adrienne knew that it didn’t cover everything. She wondered if Lennox would pull out from their deal once he realized how troubleso she would be.

Her head hurt from thinking. Could it be that she was the one who was having doubts instead of him? Had her recent conversation with Hunter sowhat affected her?

Adrienne spent so ti mulling over it. Finally, she was lulled into sleep by Lennox’s even breathing and fell asleep unknowingly.

Two hours later, Noah had woken up from his afternoon nap. He tried to find his favorite Sister Addie, but she was nowhere to be found. His Sister Addie would never leave Jinxiu Garden without bidding him goodbye, so the little boy was certain she was still here. Butler Chang said he last saw her entering his brother’s room when he asked around.

Noah stood outside Lennox’s room and stared at the closed door for a long ti. His chubby cheeks beca more prominent as he considered whether or not he should knock on the door and call his Sister Addie.

After much deliberation, he lifted his small fist and knocked on his brother’s door, but there was no answer. Thinking that sothing might have happened to his Brother Nox and Sister Addie, the little boy tiptoed to reach the doorknob and opened it silently. He then took a peek inside and noticed that it was too dark.

Noah entered the room and gently closed the door, hoping it wouldn’t creak. He sighed in relief when it closed without a sound before turning around to check on his Sister Addie.

"Sister Addie?" He called out, but he received no response.

Noah moved closer to the bed and noticed two figures lying on it. He climbed on the stool next to the bed, and saw that his Sister Addie was fast asleep beside his brother. Seeing the two together, Noah grinned and decided to join them. He crawled between the two and snuggled closely next to Adrienne, smiling as he dozed off for the second ti.

Dinner wouldn’t be served until seven, and he had nothing to do anyway. Noah just hoped Lennox wouldn’t try to chase him away once he woke up and found him lying beside Sister Addie.
