Chapter 166: Odin's Revelation and the Uncertain Night

Chapter 167: Odin's Revelation and the Uncertain Night

After their conversation ended, the group followed Odin through the vast and eerily silent castle. The only sounds that accompanied them were the soft echoes of their footsteps against the pristine marble floors. The walls, adorned with intricate carvings of battles long forgotten, lood over them like silent witnesses to the history Odin had seen unfold.

No one spoke, not even in whispers. The tension was thick, each of them lost in their thoughts, weighed down by the burden of the unknown. The war raging back on Earth, their sudden powerlessness, the enemies lurking in the dark—none of it made sense. They needed answers.

Then, piercing the silence like a blade through flesh, Odin's voice resonated through the hall.

"You lost your abilities because your powers have no core to draw from," Odin declared, his voice carrying an unsettling authority. "And your ho planet, Earth, has been invaded by the Fateks."

The air grew colder.

A sharp, collective inhale followed his words as the weight of his revelation hit them like a collapsing building. The Fateks had invaded Earth? Their ho? Their families? Their people?

A shiver ran through Williams as he swallowed the lump in his throat, fear creeping into his voice. "How... how do you know this?"

Odin took his ti before answering, first letting out a loud huff. His one remaining eye glowed faintly under the dim torchlight. "Knowledge is one thing I do not lack, Williams," he finally responded. "I see more than you can comprehend. I know what unfolds across the vast stretches of the universe. That is what makes a god."

Josh clenched his fists, his heart pounding. His voice was filled with frustration when he spoke next. "Then tell , what is the situation back on Earth?" His words were demanding, yet beneath them was sothing raw—desperation.

Odin's lips curled into a knowing smirk. "I cannot tell you that," he said, his tone indifferent. "It is not my place to interfere with destiny. You must realize these things yourself." His smirk grew into a mocking grin, and he let out a short, snotty laugh. "But do not worry. In ti, I will allow you to return to your planet… not as powerless beings, but as warriors worthy of battle."

That did little to reassure them.

They marched in silence again, each of them gripping the reality of their situation, their minds painting grueso images of what was happening back ho. Loved ones possibly dead. Cities burning. The world they once knew crumbling.

Then, finally, Odin stopped.

Before them stood a grand hall lined with doors on both sides, each leading into separate chambers.

"Now, you should all rest," Odin said. "You have been traveling endlessly. Take this ti to recover. I will prepare everything needed for the trials ahead."

A thick reluctance settled over the group. Rest? At a ti like this? They didn't want rest. They wanted to fight. They wanted to return ho. They wanted to spill the blood of the invaders and take back what was stolen from them. But they also understood—they had no choice.

Andre and Josh were the first to break away from the group, silently stepping into the nearest rooms, their shoulders weighed down by exhaustion and unspoken worries. One by one, the others followed suit, disappearing into the dimly lit chambers.

Axel remained still for a mont, then he turned to Trisha. He reached for her soft palm and gave her a warm smile, one that held both comfort and a silent promise.

"Let's take the sa room," he said.

Trisha didn't hesitate. She squeezed his hand in return and nodded, walking beside him as they entered one of the empty chambers.

As the door creaked open, they were t with a breathtaking sight.

The flooring was crafted from an otherworldly blue crystal that glead under the dim light, casting srizing reflections across the vast room. The walls were adorned with towering statues of Odin and his sons, Thor and Loki, their imposing figures exuding divine authority. But what stood out the most was the massive bed in the center, its silk-covered surface inviting, its size fit for royalty.

Trisha let out an impressed whistle. "Wow… this room is sothing else. Maybe we could retire here after the war," she joked, laughing softly.

Axel chuckled, but deep inside, her words struck a chord. Retire?

Did she really think about a future after all this? About leaving the battlefield behind?

That thought had been dwelling in Axel's mind for a while now, but hearing her say it gave him comfort. Maybe… just maybe… after everything, there would be peace.

He clenched his fists. If I can put an end to the war on Earth and eliminate the Void Walkers… maybe then I can live.

"Co, let's get so sleep together," Trisha murmured, tugging him toward the bed.

Without hesitation, she began peeling off the battle-worn clothes she had been wearing, stripping down to her undergarnts before crawling onto the bed. She let out a long, relieved sigh as she sank into the softness.

"Gods… this bed is amazing," she mumbled.

Axel watched her in mild shock, then let out a small chuckle. She must have truly missed the comfort of a proper bed after all the ti they had spent traveling and fighting.

Shaking his head, he undressed down to his underclothes and joined her. The mont his body hit the mattress, he let out a deep breath. This… this is unreal.

Trisha wasted no ti wrapping herself around him, pressing her head against his chest and clinging to him like he was the only thing keeping her anchored.

"I missed this," she whispered.

Axel said nothing at first. He simply ran his fingers through her soft hair, holding her close.

Then she spoke again.

"It's been so long since we slept on the sa bed… and I'm glad we have the opportunity before we get separated again."

Axel's jaw tightened. Separated?

No.

He wasn't going to allow that.

Biting his lip, he finally found the courage to speak. "I don't know how this will end," he admitted. "But when you get back to Earth, give my regards to my sister and little Luxiam."

Trisha chuckled lightly, though there was a hint of sadness in her voice. "Since when did you beco so soft?"

Axel smiled. Since I died like a dick.

Silence lingered between them for a while, a comforting quiet that neither of them wanted to break.

But then… the thought entered Axel's mind, and this ti, he couldn't hold it back.

"Would you marry when all this is done?" His voice was steady but filled with emotion.

Trisha froze.

Axel tightened his grip around her, continuing, "You are the only woman I want in my life. I always find joy and happiness whenever I'm with you. Please… live with forever as—"

"We should go to sleep now," Trisha suddenly interrupted.

Axel imdiately shut his mouth, embarrassnt creeping into his face. Did she just reject ?

But Trisha… her face was flushed red, her heart racing. She wanted to say yes—Gods, she wanted to say yes more than anything—but…

With everything going on, there was no ti for distractions.

As Axel lay beside her in silence, his mind still processing everything, he couldn't help but feel that sothing… sothing was off.
