When I was too drunk to even open my eyes, I vaguely rembered being carried by soone whose cologne slled exactly like Lando’s.
But that couldn’t be possible.
Even though Lando was able to move around on his own, he once told he couldn’t walk for long periods, let alone lift so much weight. So it would’ve been impossible for him to carry , right?
Sure, he looked strong, but appearances could be deceiving. Maybe he’d just asked one of his staff to carry to bed. Since they’d all been around him for so long, it wouldn’t be strange if they slled a little like him too.
Still ... why would he let another man carry his wife?
I frowned, narrowing my eyes. He really shouldn’t trust other n that much when it cos to .
Then again, maybe he just trusted his people completely. Maybe it wasn’t that big of a deal.
Once I was fully awake, I got out of bed and straightened up a bit. I didn’t have much planned for the day—just waiting for the rest of my paynt from Vivienne—but then I thought maybe I could go to the mall. I could buy a few new clothes, and maybe so makeup.
Sure, I could shop online through Penny or any store app, but honestly, it was so much more fun to pick things myself. Besides, it felt like a good excuse to celebrate finishing my first job. Maybe I could grab lunch sowhere nice, or just spend the day doing sothing fun.

Wait, wait, wait, what the hell was this?!
I just wanted to go to the mall, and now the system was trying to turn it into a date mission with my husband?!
It was Thursday, for god’s sake, Lando should be at work right now!
[No, Host.]
[Your HUSBAND has taken the day off today.]
"What?" I blurted out, completely shocked. "Why would he take a day off today?"
[You should ask him yourself.]
I frowned. "Aren’t you supposed to know everything?"
[Yes, but communication is also important in a marriage, Host. So go outside and talk to your husband!]
I blinked several tis, staring blankly at the wall in front of . At this point, I was starting to think Penny acted more like a matchmaking system than a money-making one.
[It’s called a part-ti job, Host.]
[There’s nothing wrong with multitasking!]
I only let out a small huff in response because the more I talked, the more annoying Penny’s replies would get.
After realizing that Lando was actually ho today, I decided to change into sothing decent before heading to the dining room for breakfast.
Just as Penny said, Lando really was at ho. He was sitting at the table, eating quietly while watching sothing on his phone.
Why was he acting like a kid who couldn’t eat without watching a video? It was kind of cute, though, actually this was the first ti we’d ever had breakfast together. Usually, he was already out the door before sunrise.
"Husband, you’re not going to work today?" I asked, walking toward the table.
He flinched slightly at the sound of my voice and quickly picked up his phone from the table.
"Oh, you’re here." Lando cleared his throat and looked up at . "I’m sorry, I didn’t wait for you to have breakfast together."
It seed like he’d forgotten that he wasn’t alone anymore, but honestly, I couldn’t bla him. He’d probably lived alone for so long that eating in silence had beco normal for him.
Maybe that’s why he always watched sothing on his phone. It helped make the silence a little less lonely.
"It’s fine," I said with a soft smile, sitting down across from him. "I woke up late anyway. So ... you’re not working today?"
Lando gave a small hum. "I took a day off."
"Why?" I blurted out. "Are you sick?"
"No, I’m not sick." He averted his gaze slightly. "I’ve been traveling a lot lately, so I decided to rest for a bit."
So he could take a break after all! He was such a workaholic that I’d always thought he was the type who’d rather die at his desk than take a day off.
But if he wanted to use his day off to rest, that probably ant he wouldn’t want to go out, right?
He might want to recharge his energy quietly at ho, not go sowhere crowded like the mall.
Maybe ... I shouldn’t bother him.
[Why are you giving up so soon?!]
Penny’s sudden outburst nearly made jump out of my chair. She sounded furious that I was about to skip the quest.
[Do you really want to lose twenty grand?! It’s just a date! That’s the easiest money ever!]
[Just ask him already!]
If it were really that easy, Penny wouldn’t have offered such a big reward. I an ... twenty grand just for walking around the mall? That sounded way too good to be true.
[Like Penny said before, Host. The more quests you complete, the higher your rewards will be. Even if a quest sounds simple, that doesn’t an your reward will suddenly drop.]
[Besides, you’ve already made great progress in your relationship with Lando and earned public favor. You’re no longer a beginner.]
Honestly, the system’s logic was still confusing. It didn’t have clear levels or explanations, but as long as the money kept coming, I wasn’t going to complain.
’Show my progress,’ I said in my mind.
The hologram panel in front of flickered once before displaying my progress screen.
