Chapter 8 I Am Very Pretty
Just as He Xinyan's hand touched the door handle, she heard Gu Yechen say in a dangerous tone, "Co back."
Almost as if her body was being controlled, He Xinyan imdiately shot back into the bedroom and obediently sat down on the bed.
'He is so scary!' He Xinyan complained in her head, wondering how she even managed to get herself involved with such a big shot.
Gu Yechen wasn't pleased by He Xinyan's expression. Was he really that scary?
"I saved you," Gu Yechen repeated.
Xinyan nodded her head, signaling that she understood.
"What are you going to do in return?"
"What?" He Xinyan blurted out, not expecting the almighty king, Gu Yechen, to ask sothing in return from her.
Gu Yechen raised one eyebrow, making him appear even scarier, but at the sa ti also more attractive.
"Well. . . you have more money than you will ever need and there is nothing that I can give you that you won't be able to get by yourself. So, what do you want?" He Xinyan quickly glanced up into Gu Yechen's face and frowned. Why did he look so familiar? Where did she see him before?
"I want you."
". . ." Well, that was direct.
He Xinyan opened her mouth to speak but couldn't form the right words.
"Let's make a deal. You beco my girlfriend and you can ask for anything in return."
"Anything?" He Xinyan repeated.
Gu Yechen nodded his head, "Anything."
He Xinyan thought about what could help her but realized that there wasn't much she needed right now. However, she would definitely need support in the future.
There were many things she couldn't do by herself, but Gu Yechen would definitely be able to do.
"How long would this deal last?"
Gu Yechen leaned back against the couch casually, "However long I feel like."
"And. . . that is about how long?"
"Forever."
He Xinyan was left speechless. Talking with this person was really difficult, but what could she do. He was the king, and she was only a re peasant.
He Xinyan bit her lips and fell silent. She couldn't decide whether this was a good deal or not. Gu Yechen. . .
The most powerful person in all of Country Z. With his help and support, her career and revenge would all be much easier.
And wasn't that what she wanted?
Love wasn't important to her anymore, so her part of the deal didn't matter much. It seed like in this deal, she would be the one benefitting.
"I have my part of the deal," He Xinyan said, looking into Gu Yechen's eyes. "You have to help ."
Gu Yechen licked his lips with amusent, "With what?"
"Everything. My career, my life, whatever I need help with. But don't worry, everything I need help with would be easy for you."
Gu Yechen didn't respond, as that wasn't what he was expecting.
He Xinyan cleared her throat and continued, "Think about it. I am giving away my wonderful years of being young and beautiful for this deal. So, what I'm asking for isn't too much, right?"
Gu Yechen nodded his head. It was too little.
"But why ?" He Xinyan was very curious about this. Did this man fall in love with her at first sight or sothing?
Gu Yechen looked away and responded after a few seconds, "Well. . . there has been recent news about being gay since I haven't been in a relationship ever. This has a huge impact on my work and overall image, so I need to clear it up. Dating soone would be the easiest way to do so."
For the first ti, Gu Yechen felt kind of guilty for lying. In the past, he would be able to lie without even blinking an eye, but now, he couldn't even look He Xinyan in the eye.
It would be weird for him to say, 'I fell in love with you at first sight, so I want you.'
That would only make him seem like a pervert, and he couldn't have the love of his life think of him like that.
For the first ti in all 26 years of his life, he wanted soone. He wanted sothing so bad, and he loved sothing so much.
It was a weird feeling, maybe because he had never felt it before. The woman in front of him was so perfect in his eyes, and he wanted to protect her and love her.
However, he couldn't tell her that just yet. It would scare her, and maybe push her away from him.
"Um. . . okay." Would that an she was just very lucky to accidentally run across this man and accidentally get chosen to be his fake girlfriend?
He Xinyan nodded her head, "You made the right decision to choose ."
"How so?"
He Xinyan flipped her hair confidently, "To start with, I am very pretty. Furthermore, I am truly very pretty. Finally, I am truly extrely pretty!"
Gu Yechen: . . .
In all the years of his life, he has t shaless people but has never t such a shaless person.
But he liked it!
After she finished, He Xinyan burst out laughing, "Don't be so serious, I'm only joking. I have to admit that I am very pretty, but that's not the point. After all, I'm a good choice since I'm not asking much from you. I'm not asking for money, not asking for love, and I'm only asking for the title of Gu Yechen's partner and asking for your help."
Gu Yechen smiled, "The title of Gu Yechen's partner itself is worth quite a lot. What if you use it to bribe and cheat off people."
He Xinyan played around with a strand of her hair and replied with a smile, "Being alive is quite nice, so why would I purposely dig my own grave?"
Especially for her, since she had already died once. She was more grateful for her life this ti around.
"Oh! And also if I get in trouble, you have to save ." He Xinyan rembered. After what happened yesterday, she learned that there was no way she could overco all the sches coming her way by herself.
If she accidentally fell into one of Li Yuyan's traps, she needed soone to save her. Who else better than the most powerful person in all of the country?
