Chapter 223 Cake Over Gu Yechen
Gu Yechen smiled and leaned towards her, "How about we take it together?"
He Xinyan slapped him on the arm gently with a smile and rolled her eyes.
Not too far away, Gu Kexin and Wang Yani heard their conversation, and their faces darkened even more. Wang Yani's impression of He Xinyan had just gone from worse to. . . even worse.
He Xinyan looked up and noticed Wang Yani and Gu Kexin. She pretended not to notice them as she walked into the room with Gu Yechen.
"She has no manners!" Wang Yani said angrily as she marched away. Gu Kexin looked at the closed door to Gu Yechen's room and stared at it for a few seconds before running after Wang Yani.
Inside the room, He Xinyan grabbed her pajamas and entered the bathroom to go take a shower first. She turned on the water and stepped in, closing the door.
Gu Yechen sat down on the couch and opened his laptop to do so work. It was the year-end, so there were still a lot of things to get done.
However, before he had even worked for ten minutes, there was a knock on the door.
He walked over and unlocked it, opening it slightly.
When he saw who it was, he knit his eyebrows together and didn't even make eye contact with her.
"What are you doing here?"
Gu Kexin looked up and her beautiful face turned a little red, "Brother Yechen, I brought so longevity peach stead buns from grandma's birthday and so cake."
"There is no -" Gu Yechen was about to close the door when he suddenly rembered how much his little baby liked to eat cake and sweet desserts.
The chefs here were indeed very professional and skilled, and she would be unhappy if she missed out on any chance to eat sweet dessert.
He sighed and opened the door slightly further, "Give it to ."
He reached for the tray but Gu Kexin stepped in, "I'll bring it in for you."
She walked into the room quickly and placed the food tray onto the table. She glanced over at the restroom and grinned when she heard the water sound coming from the shower.
Gu Kexin then turned around with a sweet smile, only to see Gu Yechen's cold and slightly angry face.
"Get out now."
"Brother Yechen, do you have to be so cold to ? After all, we still did grow up together, and we are family. Why do you treat like this?"
Gu Yechen thought of what He Xinyan had told him earlier today, and his frown deepened.
"It's good that you know we are just family."
Gu Kexin's eyes widened slightly and she opened her mouth and closed it again, not knowing what to say in reply to that.
"You are overthinking. I treat everyone I don't like the sa way. Get out. . . now!"
Gu Kexin's eyes turned slightly red as she looked down at her feet, "Brother Yechen, you don't like ?"
However, before Gu Yechen could respond, another person did for him.
The door to the bathroom opened and He Xinyan walked out in a white bathrobe, "Are you deaf or are you too stupid to understand? He just said he doesn't like you."
Gu Kexin gasped as she took a step back in surprise. She didn't notice that the water sound had stopped!
Gu Yechen imdiately walked over to where He Xinyan was standing and grabbed onto her hand.
He Xinyan looked up at him and used her fingers to pinch the back of his hand as punishnt. Why was she inside our room?!
Hmph! Whatever! She will punish him later! As of now, she had to get rid of this stupid white lotus!
"Miss He, I know you don't like , but you don't have to be so an and rude. After all, you are the daughter of an upper-class family. . . but you have even fewer manners than I do." Gu Kexin frowned unhappily as she looked away.
He Xinyan smiled, "Even if I don't have as many manners as you do, your brother Yechen still likes . Maybe you should learn from if you want your brother Yechen to like you too."
"You -" Gu Kexin angrily bit her lips as she clenched her fists together.
"Brother Yechen is my brother. Of course he likes . . ."
"I don't." Gu Yechen did not care about Gu Kexin's feelings in the slightest as he imdiately denied Gu Kexin's assumption.
"Brother Yechen. . ." Gu Kexin's eyes turned even more red as the tears began circling inside her eyes.
Even as a woman, He Xinyan couldn't help but feel a little bit of pity for Gu Kexin. However, Gu Yechen didn't care even the slightest. He Xinyan couldn't help but wonder if Gu Yechen was normal.
However, it was okay. She liked his abnormality!
Gu Kexin gulped and put a hand up to her face as she ran out of the room.
He Xinyan sighed and glared at Gu Yechen, "See! These problems are all because you are too handso and too attractive!"
Gu Yechen smiled, "Is that a complint?"
"No! It's a complaint!" He Xinyan lifted one hand up and used one finger to lift Gu Yechen's chin up, "Explain yourself! Why was she in our room?! Why did you let her in?!"
Gu Yechen blinked his eyes a few tis, "She ca over to deliver dessert from my grandma's birthday party. I originally didn't want to let her in, but I thought that you will like the dessert, so. . ."
He Xinyan looked over at the tray of food on the table and her eyes lit up. She let go of Gu Yechen's chin and stood on her toes to pat him on the head, "Yes, yes! You are very right indeed! Very smart!"
She ran over to the table and picked up the fork, taking a bite of the cake first.
"Mm. . . this is so good!" He Xinyan squealed in excitent as she took another bite. Indeed, even the dessert in the Gu mansion was just better than all other places.
Gu Yechen blinked a few tis. So. . . he was abandoned just like that?
He wasn't as important as a slice of cake?!

Gu Yechen sighed helplessly as he walked into the bathroom to go take a shower. When he ca back out, the tray was empty except for one last longevity peach stead bun on the plate.
He Xinyan looked up from where she was sitting on the bed, "I saved a longevity peach stead bun for you."
Gu Yechen looked at her reluctant and sad eyes and grinned, "It's okay, you can have it."
"Really?!" He Xinyan's eyes widened.
Gu Yechen looked down with a smile and nodded his head.
Without waiting another second, He Xinyan reached over and grabbed the bun, stuffing it into her mouth. It was so good! Although she was full, she still couldn't stop herself from wanting more.
In the end, He Xinyan fell asleep that night with a very, very full stomach.
--- Inside Wang Yani's Bedroom
"Grandma!" Gu Kexin ran into Wang Yani's bedroom, with her face red and tears rolling down her cheeks.
Wang Yani was in her nightgown already as she slowly walked out of the bathroom. She was imdiately t with a strong force as Gu Kexin fell into her embrace.
"Xiner, what's wrong? Oh, why are you crying?!"
Gu Kexin wiped away her tears that kept coming down as she looked up at Wang Yani, "Grandma, I went to brother Yechen's room earlier to go give him so of the dessert from your birthday dinner tonight. However, I then t He Xinyan, and she said I have no manners and called stupid!"
Wang Yani gasped, "She did?"
Gu Kexin nodded his head, "And she said that brother Yechen doesn't like ."
Wang Yani wiped away her tears and brought her over to the bed, "Of course your brother Yechen likes you! Who wouldn't like my little Xiner?"
Gu Kexin continued to cry as she sat down on the bed and hugged Wang Yani tightly, "Grandma, is brother Yechen actually going to be with that woman? Didn't you always tell that I will be brother Yechen's woman?"
Wang Yani nodded her head, "Of course! Don't worry, Kexin. I raised you up so I know you better than anyone else, and I trust you more than everyone else. I will definitely help you and find a way to get that woman away from Gu Yechen. I can't let my favorite grandson be with a woman like that!"
Wang Yani narrowed her eyes, "Only you, Kexin, match my grandson."

Gu Kexin nodded her head and wiped away her tears, "Thank you, grandma!"
Wang Yani smiled as she looked at Gu Kexin and gently patted her head, "You don't have to thank , Xiner."
