Ti passed a little forward with the dreary past behind them. Gu Rong was fully recovered as well but this ti, he didn't take back the CEO's seat. Or he was forced not to.
He made a face as he said, "I don't need your help running the company. Do you think I have gotten so old!? Hmph. You go and do your editor thing," he made a shoo gesture with his hands. "I can still stand tall as a mountain! - *cough cough*"
Yating gave a dry look. "Yeah, that's surely a tall and strong mountain right there. You just stay quiet and enjoy your retirent now."
"I am too young to retire."
His brow twitched. "Coloring your hair back black doesn't make you young, Dad."
Butler Mo choked hard but managed to keep his laughter. Gu Rong's expression soured and hardened so badly that it was indescribable. "Gu Yating! Is this how you talk to your father!"
"I won't if you act reasonably. You have recovered but you cannot take stress from now on either. Don't just conveniently forget what the doctor said."
He scoffed. "They don't know how tough I am."
"Yeah, yeah, they don't know anything," Yating shook his head. "I will take care of everything, Dad. Becoming the CEO doesn't an that I have to give up on being an editor."
"You will grow old before if you juggle between two jobs," he sneered.
Yating smiled. "You haven't raised a weak son."
"Hah you have started speaking so buttery words now."
He shrugged.
Gu Rong then grabbed a pillow and threw it at his head.
"Hey!"
"But when will you speak such buttery words to Chyou and bring her here!?"
"..."
Gu Rong was an expert in driving the conversation back to Chyou anyhow.
"Just look at Liu Jun! He got married!" Then he ekly mumbled. "Though to Zhou Ai who I didn't agree with before but I guess she isn't that bad if the whole Liu family supports her…"
"What?" Yating furrowed his brow as he couldn't hear the last part.
He coughed. "Irreverent. The point is that when will you get married!?"
"We are not even dating Dad!"
"So when will that fruitful day co and God bless with so good news!?"
Yating looked incredulous. "We were shooting for the movie, Dad. It ended last week plus the comrcials for your joint project with Uncle Zhu. That was more important after what happened with Cheng Yin. And now what is important is the premiere show of the movie for which I am going. So let leave in peace," he harrumphed.
Gu Rong gritted his teeth. "Your slowpoke ass will never get to her heart."
"..."
Ugh, he is impossible!
—
Reporters sward the multiplex area to catch a glimpse of Chyou and Yating, of which the latter arrived first. A minute later behind him, ca Chyou too.
Yating raised his brow. "Just in ti."
She stuck out her tongue. "I was going to ask if we could co together. Maybe you would need so emotional encouragent~ It's your first movie premiere after all. Are you nervous?"
He chuckled. "A little bit. But I am confident of the acting classes the Queen and Director Murong pounded into ."
Her brow twitched. "Don't talk like that. You are complaining as if I was so spartan teacher."
"Can you deny that?"
She flipped her hair back and looked away. "I don't know what you are talking about."
Yating laughed and held out his hand. "If you don't mind, shall we go in together?"
"This Queen accepts," she proudly said.
The reporters clicked back to back pictures and the bright flashing lights worked continuously to capture them.
"Miss. Zhu, how are you feeling about today's movie premiere?"
She bead. "Great!"
"Are you confident that it will be well-received by your fans despite Cheng Yin's exit?"
She smiled. "Of course I am. Yating has done a phenonal job. I am sure everybody will love him," she then leaned in and whispered, "I am actually afraid if they will start loving him more than ."
Yating's mouth twitched.
She dreams of things that are too far away…
Another reporter asked, "How difficult was it for you working for the movie after your breakup with Cheng Yin?"
Here ca the spicy questions that every reporter was dreaming of.
"Very difficult," she admitted to everyone's surprise. "It was difficult to work when you still have the person's mories with you. They follow you everywhere even if you want to forget that person. Moving on is never easy."
The air quietened.
"But there is no option other than to keep walking ahead either. The more we keep looking behind and clinging to the good tis of the past, the more we start to lose our present. It was Gu Yating who taught this."
Yating stared down at her with an unreadable expression.
"I loved Cheng Yin with all my heart. Loved. It's in the past now. But I will still express my gratitude to him. I thought that I always stood tall with my head up in pride. But his betrayal taught that I wasn't.
Unknowingly I changed myself a lot. And all for the wrong reasons. I compromised with my ideals which nobody in a relationship should be forced to. So in a way I learned my lesson what to watch out for in the future."
Her answer reverberated in the air and everybody let it sink in the mont.
Chyou chirped, breaking the serious atmosphere. "Now that all the questions are over, I will head in for the premiere~ my cheese popcorn is waiting for hoho."
"..."
Yating smiled as they stepped into the multiplex. "You did a great job out there."
For a mont, he was worried that she might fall weak but she proved him wrong.
Her bright irises shone with a gleam. "It's because I have so many good people supporting . It's them who give the courage."
Especially you…
Chyou suddenly turned her head away and internally scread in her mind.
Aaaaahhhh! Thank God the reporters kept busy with their questions or I would have made a fool out of myself!
Zhu Chyou! This is not the first ti you are eting Yating and you already know that he is handso so why am I getting overly flustered today!?
I know! It's all because of that damn bouquet I accidentally caught in Jun and Ai's wedding!
