"Let cook sothing for you this ti!" Shui proudly grinned.
They were now back in the cafe with Shui imdiately taking charge of the kitchen.
"Wooooo," Cai and Ruyi furiously clapped with delight.
"Everyti, Lin makes delicious dishes for so it’s my turn to make sothing for you all hoho."
"Can I help?" Ruyi asked.
"No, no. Everyone sit tight!"
It was an hour later that she was back which looked nothing like so simple snack ti but instead was a full blown feast. She dropped a light smack on top of Lin’s head.
"Why are you just staring and not digging in?"
"Everything looks so delicious.."
The delicious aroma wafted through his nostrils. "I feel like I would ruin their pristineness."
Her brow twitched. "You have to lick every last drop of it, okay? Not just admire it from afar."
"Bro, you can stare all you want, I feel super hungry!"
He already grabbed a plate to his and happily started stuffing food in Ruyi’s plate. Shui only watched in amusent how their dynamics had changed since they first t. Ruyi had shed her nervousness and shyness around Cai and Cai, too, had locked away his resentnt for her. The past love and feelings were clearly catching up to them once again and she knew it would be soon enough that they would reconcile.
"The shrimp is delicious!"
Which followed by a crisp nod from Lin, who was munching on yet another shrimp. The spicy zing of mapo tofu exploded on his tongue like pleasant fireworks.
"Am I in heaven?"
"No, this is still earth and we are in your cafe," her eyes rolled, but Lin’s eyes shone brighter and brighter.
"Everything is so delicious."
His ears perked up. "Would you like to join the kitchen staff?"
"Pah!" Cai laughed heartily. "Bro is openly poaching sis from the art to kitchen world?"
"Talent must be recognized."
Ruyi chuckled. "Is it a pure offer towards talent or does Bro want to spend naughty ti with sis?"
"That too," Lin wasn’t ashad to admit the truth.
"Aish! Too much doting! Too much doting! You love birds should go take a private room," he harrumphed. "We are just pure people here trying to enjoy dinner."
"Pure?" Shui snorted. "Yeah, sure why not?"
"Hey! Why do I sense condescension, sis!" Cai cried. "I only speak the truth! Ruyi, let’s grab so dishes and move away from this butterfly couple."
"Butterfly..." her brow twitched.
"Yes, your couply butterflies are making ticklish all over."
She smirked. "Oh yeah? Or perhaps do you want privacy to experience your own couply butterflies with a certain soone?"
"..."
Ruyi was quick to look away, face turning red while Cai could only stutter. "Bro, that’s unfair!"
To his dismay, Lin was solely occupied and dedicated with the feast as if he was almost on an enlightennt path. The outside world was foreign to him.
Cai grabbed Ruyi’s hand and coughed. "Hmph! We wouldn’t be a bone in your lovey-dovey ti."
"Basically, you don’t want us to be the bone in your lovey-dovey ti~"
Shui’s teasing resulted in a glare from his side. When they escaped upstairs, she shook her head.
"They are so cute."
"You are cute too."
She flipped her hair back. "Well, I was always aware of that."
Realizing that she stood behind the counter and Lin seated opposite her, her beautiful eyes sparkled.
"So, so, dear custor! Are you satisfied with the food?"
The bite of an egg roll was this close to touching his lips when he paused and looked up, raising a brow. It certainly looked as if she was in charge of the cafe.
"Satisfied...hm."
She blinked. "I sense so hesitation, custor. Are you dissatisfied anywhere?"
"I think yes, I am."
"Where? Which dish did you not like?" She pouted dimly.
"It’s not the food. I am dissatisfied with the service."
"What kind of service do you want, custor?"
"I had expected the beautiful chef to sit beside and feed ."
Shui put her hands on her waist. "Well, I am a busy person, you know? I don’t feed my custors but...I will make a special exception for you."
"I will be honored."
She walked around the counter and took the adjacent chair beside him. Taking the chopsticks from his hand, she brought the bite near his lips.
"Hm...not close enough," he pursed his lips.
"The bite is close enough, dear custor."
"The bite is, not you."
She burst into a small cough. "Where did you learn to get this sneaky?"
"It just naturally cos to when you are with ."
"Hmph. Fine. I will make another exception for you," she dragged the chair closer until their knees touched. "Now."
"Still not close enough."
A twitch erupted in her brow. "I cannot co any closer than this, custor."
"Do you want to leave a bad review?"
Shui ntally clapped at his audacious and shaless threat.
"There is no space for the chair to move any further, dear custor."
"Then think out of the box," he tilted his head.
"..."
What should I think out of the box? I literally cannot-
Her brow twitched heavily yet again.
"Hah! We don’t provide that kind of a service, custor."
"Alas," he looked disappointed. "Bad review it is then."
At first, Lin was clearly joking - that’s what Shui thought. But he had actually scrolled to the cafe’s review page and clicked on the "Add your review" button. She gasped and snatched his phone away.
"You cannot be serious about giving a negative review to your own cafe!"
He smiled. "What can I do? The owner is quite uncooperative. I am simply requesting a good service."
The innocent act of his gaze made her want to smack on his head. Eventually, she stepped down from the chair - only to climb on Lin’s lap. Though her bold decision was to confront him and make him taste defeat, her own cheeks heated with a fever out of nowhere.
"Hmm, this is much better. But you can move a little closer."
"We are a-already close..."
His hand slowly slid across her back and with a little pressure, pushed her towards him until their chests and faces were barely any further away to be even counted as distance. His index finger grazed the corner of her lips, a light of sothing more glazing past his eyes.
"This is what I call being close, dear owner."
