Yina trotted to his side and scrunched her little brows. "Why Dada here? Dada learn essays too?"

"Yina!!!"

He bent and hugged his baby girl with the brightest grin on his lips. Alix could practically see the entire garden blooming around his head.

"Yina, Yina, do you want to go shopping with Dada!" He sparkled, so much so that Alix felt her eyes hurting at this point.

Yina frowned. "No. I learn essay with Pastry Aunt. I told Mama."

It was only for a flash but Alix saw his brow twitch.

"Dada will take you to our bakery! We will have lots of pastries there. Anything you want!"

"I am with pastry aunt!" She chirped.

That made his floodgates open as he couldn’t handle his daughter’s cuteness overload but he willed himself to be strong.

Alix remained quiet. Amidst his swooning over his adorable daughter, his displeasure was also visible at the sa ti. She didn’t bla him. As a father, he wouldn’t want his children anywhere near an evil woman who destroyed their family in the past. With that in mind, she wondered why Ai and Leina allowed their children to et her.

"You should go with him. Seems like he has planned a fun trip for you," she said without much expression.

Yina vigorously shook her head. "I learn essay and do ogami with pastry aunt!"

"Yes, yes," Aang booded. "You shouldn’t interfere with our fun, Uncle Nian."

Nian glared. "I am not interfering with any fun, you brat! I just want to take my Yina away!"

Ailun seriously said, "As the captain of the group, I cannot allow this, Uncle."

He sneered. "The father always has the last say, brat."

Yina’s lips puckered. "Don’t bring twouble, Dada. I will be with pastry aunt!"

That was the lethal strike that depleted all of Nian’s HP at once and he looked dead. She forced herself out of his bear hug and hopped back to her cousins again.

Nian threw a salty glare at Alix and whispered. "Let’s talk outside."

She stiffened but prepared her heart for his backlash.

Alix took a deep breath and readied herself. She understood where he was coming from and neither was she interested in forcing the kids to stay in her company. She didn’t want to continue facing Nian anymore and wanted this conversation to end as quickly as possible.

"I will talk to Yina and-"

Suddenly, Nian burst into tears and covered his face within his palms.

"How are you doing this?"

She frowned, puzzled. She couldn’t understand the heads or tails of his floodgates opening once again, not in private.

Nian raised his head and kept shooting laser beams at her that carried all his grievances.

"How are you becoming cooler than !?"

"...Sorry what?"

"Yina always liked to spend ti with ! But ever since she t you at the Business Summit the first ti, my popularity with her has been dwindling," he cried.

She threw him a blank look.

"Then you started visiting the villa and I got sidelined more and more! There was a ti when she would say that she would marry when she grows up," he sniffled emotionally. "But now she doesn’t! Now she only looks at one person with stars in her eyes and that is you!"

By that point, Alix had no clue where this conversation was heading. Sure, she was facing his backlash in a way but also not in a way she imagined it would turn out to be. She thought this was about his daughter hanging around the villain Zhan Yahui but apparently, it wasn’t the case.

"I have no idea what you are talking about."

"Oh really!?" He put his hands on his waist as if accusing her of feigning ignorance. "Then how do you explain the kids following you everywhere you go?"

"They don’t."

"Haven’t they been hovering around you since yesterday? Yina even wanted to sleep with you last night!"

Alix pressed her lips and took a deep breath. "I’m afraid...I’m unable to understand the point you are trying to make."

"I want Yina to pay attention to more!" He cried. "But sohow, your coolness is overpowering mine and she is getting blinded by your coolness more than mine!"

He is an idiot.

She ca to that conclusion without much effort.

"Now she wants to spend her whole day with you instead of ! My precious ti with Yina..." He complained and cried.

"I want to understand why the kids are so fixated with you. They keep following you like ducklings all shining and sparkling! I protest against my daughter’s lack of attention to ! I want her to roll on my body too! Do you know that she even tries to mimic you?"

Nian mimicked an expression of arching his brow with an evil glint in his eyes and a small knowing smile on his lips, much like how Alix did when she sched sothing.

"Like this! She says how cool you look when you do that," he burst into tears. "She says you look cool even when you just yawn! Just how the hell are you hypnotizing the kids? They are completely smitten by you, especially my dearest Yina!"

"..."

"You are exaggerating."

"How dare you make light of my pain!"

Alix knew how to deal with twisted people. She had no manual for talking to idiots.

"So..." Alix tried to hold in her patience. "What do you want to do?"

He sniffled and wiped his eyes. "First of all, don’t be cooler than . I should shine the brightest in my little pumpkin’s eyes! And secondly, you have to invite to your essay classes and origami activity too! And then you should tell my Yina - very subtly though, just nudge her to explain how her father is the best. Sing my praises to her."

Alix imdiately turned on her heels in response to which Nian blocked her way equally imdiately.

"Where are you going!"

"This conversation is over."

"No, you have to help eeeee!!!" He begged.

"You are free to tag along in the essay classes or the origami part if you want but don’t expect to sing your praises."

"Why not!?"

"I believe your daughter is very intelligent to make her own judgnts and I wouldn’t want to hinder her decision-making developnt by telling blatant lies."
