The next day.
Jin sat quietly in his room, only silence accompanying his resolve. His head rested back at the wall as he stared up at the ceiling. He knew what he was doing was wrong and desperate. He was practically making himself the guinea pig to force Alix's hand into doing what he wanted.
But he felt he had no other way when he had accidentally seen Wang Xia's face while returning from the washroom. She had her mask on but feeling stuffy, had slightly lowered it for a few seconds while her gaze was seemingly searching for soone.
He knew the reason behind her presence the mont he saw her. It couldn't have been a coincidence that she was there the sa evening when Jin was there as well. Her frustrated and impatient gaze looked like she had been expecting sobody to be at the bar counter but wasn't.
Jin stared at her for fifteen long minutes, standing at the sa position. Then he saw her quietly sipping so fine powder into his unfinished drink when the bartender was out of sight. Everybody else was in their own world. She acted like nothing happened but he understood everything that she wanted.
Revenge. Humiliation.
He could practically run the future events in his mind like a movie and held a fair guess of what was about to happen. And what could happen if he stirred the situation to his own use.
Jin had two options.
Confront her and punish her.
Or use the opportunity for his own benefit.
He wanted to et Alix. Opportunity was his only choice so he grabbed it without hesitation.
Jin slowly opened his eyes. He did achieve the easier part of his objective, which was to make her et him. The other part was the challenge.
She had refused to even consider his proposal, much less actually agree to it. He didn't know when she would et him next. He couldn't drag this threat ga for much longer because his silence would only land him in jail one or the other day. There would be no point in the proposal if he would be imprisoned.
What should I do-
"Mr. Liu, your brother is here to et you."
Jin pressed his lips. "Please apologize to him on my behalf but I won't et him."
"He insists on you eting him. It's sothing very urgent."
"Those are all excuses to et ."
"He says it's related to Miss. Ren Alix."
His eyes flew open and which he then at the officer.
"That's just another excuse, isn't it?"
"He only says that you will regret it if you don't drop your stubbornness this ti."
He slightly bit his lip and closed his eyes.
"Fine."
—
Jin sat before Jun, unable to et his prying and accusatory gaze.
"I finally got to see your face."
"I am sorry."
"Mom and Dad are worried sick. Grandma too."
"I didn't have any other choice."
"I get that n in our family are hopeless and fools in love in general but you should have at least t us once and explained your intentions. We could have been prepared that way."
"I am sorry."
"Forget sorry, you need to get out of that place now."
He pursed his lips, his hands silently clenching against each other. "...I know you don't support my love for her."
Jun didn't respond.
"You have your inhibitions and I understand that. B-But-"
"You cannot help her if you keep rooted in that cell."
"Help?"
Jun released a sigh and took out his phone. He scrolled for a mont and showed the screen from across the glass pane.
"Ren Designs should step down!"
"Your company is a ss!"
"We don't want to wear your faulty clothes!"
"Ren Designs is not even given a chance to put forth their side but we are already labeled as the culprits."
"You are one shaless woman!"
Jin froze when an egg hit Alix's forehead with a harsh impact. The yolk spilled down her face and so did her blood. He saw her stumble dizzy for just a mont when she cald herself and looked back right into the protestor's eyes.
"Well throwing eggs is not my style so how how about a police complaint for this preditated harm?"
"H-How dare you talk back when you sell faulty designs that tear off!"
"I would really like to see you run your mouth with the sa vigor when I would show my side of evidence. So hold on. Good things co to people who wait."
Jin stared into his brother's eyes with a cold intensity that was enough to bring hell over to Beijing.
"What happened?"
Jun explained the chain of events to him which he quietly listened to.
"It would be easier to have a dialogue with that French model and clear up the source of misunderstanding but apparently, her agency is denying all contact from Ren Designs, which is only worsening the crash for the company."
Jin remained silent but a storm was brewing in his dark eyes.
"That's not all."
He blinked.
"I heard that the cops could knock on Alix's door to arrest her soon."
"...For?"
"Threatening Wang Xia to confess the truth. She is claiming she tried to kill her by almost throwing her out of a twentieth floor window unless she would confess that you are innocent."
He trembled.
"If Alix gets taken in, then it would be impossible to save the company or herself. Her sister is not that adept in handling such a crisis yet."
A long stretch of silence spanned between the brothers.
"I want to get out," he quietly said.
"And how? We need Wang Xia's confession."
"We don't need that. My phone is with the cops' custody but you will find a recording there. I knew what she had planned that's night, that's why I was already recording her before anything had started. That's enough to bring her down."
Jun drew out a long sigh of relief. "Oh for fuck's sake…I thought you had really lost your mind."
He glared. "Forget the twins, I am so gonna beat you up myself!"
He tilted his head with a smile that could send shivers. "You can beat anyti you want. For now, I want to beat the crap out of soone else. So get out of here, Bro. Now."
