Chapter 2760: Chapter 2560: Finally Found Out Tang Qin Hao Was Back To The Hotel
Angelica Lee still had far too many high-stakes, critical matters waiting to be handled on her schedule, especially the incredibly urgent matter concerning the capture of Tang Qin Hao.
The thought of the brilliant surgeon immediately caused her expression to darken aggressively. She gritted her teeth in sheer frustration, silently cursing the absolute inpetence of her elite security team.
Just then, her encrypted personal smartphone suddenly rang, breaking the silence of the office. Angelica Lee casually glanced at the screen and saw the flashing digital identification of her lead field subordinate. She immediately swiped the screen to answer the high-priority call.
“Young Miss, we have finally verified his exact location.” The subordinate reported respectfully, though his tone was noticeably tense.
“Where on earth is he?” Angelica Lee asked immediately, her voice sharp.
“He has officially returned to the luxury hotel premises.” The subordinate replied carefully.
“What?!” Angelica Lee abruptly stood up from her leather executive chair, genuine, unadulterated shock flashing across her pristine features. “How did he possibly manage to break out and return to the hotel on his own?”
“We thoroughly investigated the failure at the safe house. It appears that when Dr Tang was originally ambushed yesterday afternoon, several bystanders accidentally witnessed the abduction unfold in the basement. They secretly tailed our extraction vehicle all the way to the remote safe house out in the countryside. After locating the property, they executed a tactical breach and successfully rescued Dr Tang before any of our main guards even realised what was happening.” The subordinate explained, sweat forming on his brow.
Angelica Lee’s eyes narrowed dangerously, a lethal coldness settling into her gaze.
“How exactly did random bystanders manage to effortlessly defeat Uncle Liam and an entire squad of armed operatives?” Angelica Lee demanded in an icy, furious voice. “Exactly how many highly trained people were involved in this breach?”
The subordinate hesitated for a brief, tense second before summoning the courage to answer his boss’s question.
“According to our initial investigation, there were only two people. They went to save Dr Tang.” The subordinate told Angelica Lee, carefully delivering the shocking details he had uncovered.
It had not been particularly hard to find them, considering the local police had actually gone directly to their hotel room to take their formal statements.
Angelica Lee’s index finger, which had been rhythmically tapping the edge of her mahogany desk, suddenly stopped. Her eyes immediately locked onto her subordinate’s face through the video feed, her gaze freezing into a lethal glare.
“Two? Only two?” Angelica Lee repeated the number, her voice dropping into a dangerous whisper.
“Yes, Young Miss.” The subordinate confirmed, nodding fervently.
Angelica Lee’s eyes became noticeably colder, a dangerous silence settling over the line.
“Uncle Liam had over twenty heavily trained, armed bodyguards with him at that property.” Angelica Lee stated, her tone flat and demanding.
“Yes.” The subordinate responded.
“Uncle Liam had also undergone years of elite tactical training himself.” Angelica Lee spoke again, her eyes narrowing to slits.
“Yes. He did.” The subordinate nodded.
“And you are seriously telling me…” Angelica Lee spoke each word slowly, deliberately, letting the sheer weight of her displeasure sink in, “…that only two people defeated all of them?”
“Y-Yes, Young Miss.” The subordinate stuttered, unable to deny the undeniable physical evidence. His voice was noticeably less confident now, trembling slightly. “Our men were already pletely unconscious by the time our cleanup crew arrived. Judging from their physical injuries and the lack of struggle, the fight ended incredibly quickly. I strongly suspect they might have used some kind of advanced, specialised nerve agent or aerosolised drug. However, our internal researchers still could not determine exactly what kind of drug had been used on them.”
Angelica Lee frowned deeply, her mind instantly analyzing the tactical implications.
“Did anyone manage to identify them?”
“No.”
“Any surveillance footage from the surrounding area?”
“No.”
“A vehicle registration plate?”
“No.”
“Their actual faces?”
“No.”
Every single negative answer made Angelica Lee’s expression darker and more ominous.
“Then, what exactly did you spend your precious time investigating?” Angelica Lee asked, her voice dangerously calm.
The subordinate instantly lowered his head in shame, even though Angelica Lee could not physically see his bowed posture through the audio link.
“We tried to investigate the hotel’s closed-circuit CCTV system. Unfortunately, the cameras covering the basement parking area malfunctioned yesterday afternoon due to our own tactical intervention when we snatched the doctor.” The subordinate stated defensively.
“Then, hack into the hotel’s main database to find out their registered identities.” Angelica Lee ordered sharply.
“Young Miss, immediately after the incident occurred, the Smith Family caught wind of the security breach on their property. After that incident, the Smith family doubled the cybersecurity on their main hotel systems. We can no longer enter their servers as we pleased.” The subordinate reported, his voice tight with frustration.
Angelica Lee clicked her tongue, feeling a deep, burning annoyance flare up inside her. She fell into a tense, calculative silence. Sensing her mood, her subordinate also went pletely quiet, holding his breath as he waited for his boss to hand down her next order.
“What an incredibly convenient coincidence.” Angelica Lee spoke after a short, suffocating stretch of silence.
The subordinate did not dare to respond.
Angelica thought back to the safe house’s physical layout, a detail sparking in her memory.
“What about the security cameras mounted near the perimeter of the safe house?” Angelica Lee asked.
“There weren’t any active surveillance cameras installed around that specific property.” The subordinate stated flatly.
Angelica Lee clicked her tongue once again, the sheer inpetence of the setup grating on her nerves. She went silent again, her brilliant mind quickly replaying every single piece of information she had gathered.
