"It is alright, you can take your ti. I will wait." Edward hesitated but when he was sure that Olivia did not mind, a smile soon blood on his face.
"I will return in half an hour. I apologize for the inconvenience when I return." the ladies gave Olivia a provoking look as they followed Edward with a smirk.
Damon watched with cold eyes. There was a tempest brewing in those calm eyes.
"You are planning to wait for him while he.." he did not continue because many eyes were on them.
Olivia feigned ignorance.
"Well, we ca uninvited and without prior announcent. It is only normal that we will wait for him." That was not the point here!? Damon scowled at her.
He could explain a fool! But it was impossible to explain a sharp woman like Olivia. But why did he care? Why was his chest burning as if he was the one suffering?
"Since he is busy, how about you co with to greet his majesty first. After all, you would need their support." Olivia looked tempted at once.
Her majesty would never approve of her. But if his majesty found her qualified, she could use his resources later. In her last ti, Amber had gained the approval of his majesty and used it to accumulate a lot of wealth for Elios.
The prince still lost from Edward!
"But would it not be inconvenient?" Oivia did not want to look greedy in front of Damon. The man should treat her as his ally.
A smirk appeared on his lips as he noticed hesitating in her eyes.
"I am allowed to bring a company. But if you want to wait here.." Damon shrugged and turned to leave.
Olivia bit her lips and followed him.
"No! Wait.. I will co with you." Damon hid the smirk and titled his head to look at her intently. He could feel the fear in her fading a bit.
For so reason, he felt relieved.
"If his highness returns, inform him that i went to greet his majesty first." the maid tore her gaze away from Damon and nodded at her.
Damon walked slowly so that the woman could catch up to him. His eyes looked at the distance as if he did not care about her presence.
But when Olivia was looking around, he randomly stole a glance at her. Making sure that she did not find it hard to match his pace, a strong and tall many like Damon walked slowly.
Olivia and Damon did not return to the carriage. They walked from the second prince’s palace to the central palace. A large garden and a fountain separated the large buildings.
"The palace is more beautiful than I rember." she whispered softly as she looked around. Damon looked at the grown shrubs covered with flowers with indifference.
Did they not have a similar garden in their manor? What was so different here?
"Have you ever been to our estate? The garden there is larger and livelier with a variety of flowers. This ti, I have also noticed rare birds there. Next ti.." Damon paused! He was going to say that he would bring her with him next ti?
Had he lost his mind completely. He shook his head! He must be leaving a good impression so that she would help him as she had promised.
"You should convince her grace to take you there. I will get so ti to make connections in her absence too." ha! He had changed his words so abruptly even a fool would not believe in them.
But looking at her gaze filled with wild ideas, he regretted his thoughts. No one would believe his words except Olivia! The girl had brains when it cos to politics but her emotional intelligence was low.
"Of course, I will find a way to convince my sister. Worry not, my lord. I will help you in every way." Olivia patted her chest as if she was making a solemn promise.
"Damon!"
"Pardon!" feeling his intent gaze on her, Olivia blushed. There was no way she was taking it correctly. He must have a different aning.
"You have taken my na before. Why are you reverting back to formality?" Olivia looked away. She could feel so many gazes on her. Did he not feel them at all? No, as a knight, his sense must be stronger. Still he wanted her to take his na? Could it be that he wanted to show that they have a harmonious relationship?
It must be that! With a new light in her eyes, Olivia nodded.
"Of course, Damon. After all, we are family." looking at the flatting gaze, he knew that she had misunderstood. But he did not correct her thoughts. There was no other reason.
William had sent his aide to escort Damon to his chambers. The man watched Olivia and Damon with narrowed eyes.
Bringing a companion ant either family or love. But Damon had co with his aunt. Everyone in the empire knew that Damon and the new duchess were at odds. Yet he had brought her sister!
"Sir Paul" Damon nodded with respect. The man was the personal guard of his majesty. He held more power than the head of the first order of knights.
Paul stared at Olivia with a cold glance before nodding and started walking. Olivia hesitated for a second. She knew she was unwelcod there.
"Co Aunt, we can not be late." Olivia blinked and noticed the mischievous smile on his face. It relaxed her a little.
As they walked together, many maids bowed. Despite the dayti, his majesty’s study was dimly lit. thich with the sll of leather and parchnt. Olivia was engulfed by the freshly made ink and warmth of the paper.
She looked around with the bright eyes of a curious child. In her last life she had only t his majesty in the ballrooms of banquet halls. On rare occasions they have shared als in the dining room. But that was it.. Her new life feels different.
"I see that you have brought a company, Damon."
