"Are you getting married?" the woman nad Shaya from eastern lands asked curiously. Olivia snapped out of her strange thoughts and nodded at once. The woman frowned and looked at Damon before looking at Edward. "And the prince is the groom?" she added, confused.
"Yes, madam." Edward held Olivia’s hands tightly and rubbed her palms. His eyes burnt with passion and desire. Olivia’s face was flushed as she lowered her head but for so reason, her hands itch. She wanted to pull it away already.
"Olivia is a wonderful woman. I am head over heels on her and wanted to marry her as soon as possible. But at the sa ti, I want it to be morable for her." His tender voice, loving actions and gaze full of love sparked appreciation from the table. Even Amber clapped lightly joining the happiness.
Diana took the chance to wrap her hands around Damon’s arm.
"Isnt my brother romantic? Olivia is lucky to have him." it was the third ti she had held his hand. Olivia looked at them instinctively. Her gaze narrowed at their entwined hands before looking away hurriedly. Damon, who was about to pull away, paused. Then he held Diana’s hand resting on his arm with another hand and patted it.
"I am not that bad either!" Olivia blushed harder. Though she knew those words were directed to Diana, she felt a strange tingling in her stomach.
"That is strange!" Shaya continued. "You both seem to be too much in love!" the woman shook her head. "You all are strange."
"...." Shaya did not elaborate and no one asked her what she ant. As if they were afraid she had seen the truth and would speak it openly.
"You must try this delicacy." Olivia pulled her hands away and started chatting with the group again. Shaya watched Damon with twinkling eyes. Her eyes seem to notice sothing others had missed before grinning and looking at Olivia back.
They listened intently when Olivia explained to them how to eat and about the different habits of their culture. She asked questions about their culture and compared them positively from ti to ti.
Once again others felt left out as Olivia was the only one dragging the conversation. They tried to join at so point, giving their thoughts but soon went silent as they could continue the topic.
Damon ate silently as if the whole matter had nothing to do with him. But his strained ears were on Olivia. He would randomly frown or smile at her words.
As soon as the dinner ended, Diana stood up surprising everyone. Olivia, who had finally had the ti to et to see the night market, turned to look at Diana too. Diana arrested her gaze and smiled provokingly.
"Damon, I want to speak to you in private, would you co with ?" every gaze moved to Damon who was sitting stiffly with no desire to move. Daiana paused. She only wanted to show her possession over Damon to Olivia. She had never expected that the man would not be corporate.
"Damon!" she called intimately and finally Damon stirred. He stood up stiffly and followed Diana. Diana did not mind his rigidness. She wrapped her arms around him and dragged him away. About the guests and etings, she did not care! It was not her responsibility to run the empire. She was going to be a duchess.
Olivia stared at the leaving couple for a long second before returning her gaze to Shaya and continued explaining.
"In our lands, we marry for love or honor." Shaya spoke suddenly. "But ego is never the reason." the woman laughed and then stood up.
"I am looking forward to going out with you, madam Olivia." She folded her hands again and her n followed. They repeated the sa greeting for the princes before leaving.
"What a bunch of idiots." Elio was the next to stand up. With a scowl on his face, he threw the handkerchief on the table and walked out. Amber followed him closely and their laughter filled the halls.
Edward tilted his head to see Olivia.
"You did not tell you know their language." He picked up the glass of wine and passed it to her. "Sotis I wonder if you could not hide anymore and yet you co out with more secrets, Olivia." Olivia took the glass unsure. She took a sip while staring at him.
"I have told you I will handle this for you." As if that was enough, Edward felt frustrated. He pulled her by her hands until she lost her balance. He wrapped his hand on her waist and forced her on his lap.
"Olivia Witherland, we have a deal. You will help to the throne and I will earn a secure position for my wife and support your family. Your sister had already offended many noble families by blaming them for not supporting her. I heard that she had gone to the northern duke now to ask for help. You need . Without , you are nothing." Olivia did not like his deaning tone. She sat on his lap stiffened.
She wanted to pull away but knew that he was right. She needed that position to use his contacts to bring Oriana back.
"I can bring her back for you. I will buy a manor in Leo’s na. She could live there freely. Ten servants would serve her and she would have an allowance equal to Diana the mont you would marry , Olivia. Rember, you are winning this deal and several others for ." the way he said those words! As if she was an object and he was confirming his possession of her.
Olivia pushed the irritation away and nodded.
"Of course, your highness." she leaned to his chest to hide her ugly expressions. But stiffened when she felt his hand on her back.
"Your..."
"Edward, call Edward the way you called him Damon!" he said irritated as his grip on her arm tightened, "or you call him that intimately because he is your nephew?"
