I was absolutely seething. At first, I thought Jai was pretty cool. Now, not so much.

("Those... bastards...!") [Solace]

I wanted nothing more, but to chase them down and beat them into the ground. Unfortunately, I had other matters to deal with.

("Calm yourself, Solace. We have more pressing matters.") [Solace]

I imdiately popped into reality, floating near the monster's face.

("Get your filthy hands off her! |Ashen Arrow|!") [Solace]

I fired not once, not twice, but twenty arrows at the demon. They struck the arm that held Fina, making it look like a porcupine on one side.

The demon roared in agony, releasing Fina from it's grip.

("Fina!") [Solace]

Judging from the way she was falling, Fina was unconscious. The |Paralyze| was probably more potent than I thought.

("How do I soften the fall?!") [Solace]

Reacting quickly, I thought of a solution.

("|Earthen Shield|!") [Solace]

I conjured a rock shield underneath her, but with a little twist.

("Please work...!") [Solace]

Fina hit the shield, crumbling from the impact.

("It worked...!") [Solace]

The experint was a success. By adding multiple holes within, and designing it so it would crumble while absorbing shock helped Fina take less damage from the fall.

("Phew... Now, onto the main issue.") [Solace]

I turned towards the panic stricken demon, who recovered quickly and glared at with it's three glowy eyes.

("...Ooh it looks pissed.") [Solace]

There were a few things I could do. One, defend Fina by fighting it while staying near her. Two, draw its attention away and leave Fina to rest while I fight it. Three, kill it here and now.

I addressed the problems one by one. The first would probably put Fina in more danger, so that one is out. The second one would leave Fina alone, but I had no clue if there were any other monsters that lurked. That left with the last one.

("I guess it's do or die.") [Solace]

I rushed towards the demon, or rather, flew clumsily since I never tried speeding up before. Luckily, it worked for .

I buzzed around the demon's face like a fly, causing it to slap itself accidentally whenever it tried to swat .

("Good. I've got it's attention.") [Solace]

Then there was the next problem. How do I kill it?

("Spirit Guide, show my skills.") [Solace]

"Response: Accessing skill page." [Spirit Guide]

After sifting through my skills, I noticed the lack of offensive ones.

("I only have four skills I can use to kill it...? I could've sworn I had more.") [Solace]

I glanced at the arm I riddled with arrows, but they seed to have fallen out. Judging from how deep the wound seed to be, and the amount of weird purple blood, it didn't look like a lot of damage.

("So poking isn't going to cut it. Wait, speaking of cut... |Wind Edge|!") [Solace]

I launched invisible blades at the demon's chest, causing it to flinch in pain. Blood seeped out of its wounds, but it really wasn't much.

("Really? All that for like, a centiters worth of damage into its skin?") [Solace]

I was running out of ideas. Just as I was trying to co up with new ones, I montarily forgot that I was trying to dodge its swats and got hit.

("Urgh!") [Solace]

I flew across the cavern, slamming into a rock wall.

("Damn, that hurts!") [Solace]

That was when I was blinded by rage. Launching myself like a bullet, I slamd my entire body into the demon's stomach.

The demon let out a strange cry, falling to its knees from pain.

("Hold up, that worked?! What are my stats right now?!") [Solace]

"Response: Accessing status." [Spirit Guide]

My mind was blown. My stats were nowhere near that amount before I was kind of pissed. Things were finally looking up for .

("There might be a chance I can win this...!") [Solace]

I darted around the cavern, slamming against the demon whenever I thought I had enough montum.

("Take this! And that!") [Solace]

I was beating the living hell out of it. So much so that it would fall back to its knees whenever it tried to stand.

After receiving such a thrashing, it reached for its axe.

("Uh oh.") [Solace]

"Gun dor ma funix!" [Demon]

("It can talk?!") [Solace]

The demon raised its axe before striking the ground, leaving a crack on the ground and a shockwave that stopped my assault.

("Woah!") [Solace]

I spun through the air, having to take a mont to right myself.

("Whew, that was sothing- Oh my god!") [Solace]

I found myself face to face with the demon, scaring myself shitless.

"Tu mor finishe est" [Demon]

("Uh... What?") [Solace]

"Translation: You're dinner, little fairy." [Spirit Guide]
