The next few minutes was a battle of desperation. We all assaulted Zyrig with our skills, whereas he returned our hostility with his own ferocity.

"|Explosion Arts|!" [Solace]

"|Tower Wall|!" [Zyrig]

Grounding his ridiculously large shield, he withstood my attack. This led to Wilharrow and Raon to attack him from behind.

"|Light Slash|!" [Wilharrow]

"|Critical Stab|!" [Raon]

"|Giant's Might|!" [Zyrig]

Holding his hamr with one hand, Zyrig intercepted their attacks with a single horizontal swing.

"Hold him down!" [Wilharrow]

Appearing next to Zyrig, she cloned herself and collectively latched onto his hamr arm.

"Attack now!" [Leon]

I attempted to climb over the shield to attack while Raon and Wilharrow resud their skills.

"This won't stop !" [Zyrig]

Using his overwhelming strength, he swung his hamr with Leon and her clones still attached.

"What?!" [Wilharrow]

"I'll take it!" [Raon]

Stepping in front of Wilharrow, Raon blocked the hamr.

"Ngh!" [Raon]

"|Divine Weapon Resonance|!" [Wilharrow]

Zyrig lifted his shield, moving in front to block the strike. Unfortunately for him, I had already climbed over into his guard.

"|Thunderbolt Lance|!" [Solace]

Summoning my lightning spear, I stabbed Zyrig's lower abdon.

"|Pain Conversion|!" [Zyrig]

His strength increased as I pushed my spear deeper, causing him to push all my allies away other than .

"|Mountain Press|." [Zyrig]

An unknown force dropped down on , forcing in place. This allowed Zyrig to take a free swing at .

"|Revolving Shell Arts|!" [Solace]

There was such imnse force behind the swing I almost couldn't redirect it. My hand went numb just from sending his hamr into the ground.

"What are you guys waiting for?! Rush him!" [Solace]

Everyone leapt into action. Leon summoned her greatsword, Wilharrow used |Blazing Trail|, and Raon teleported using |Cross Slash|, and even Fina launched a multitude of spells using mana crystals. Even so, Zyrig endured. He ignored and blocked Leon with his shield, fended off Wilharrow with his hamr, took the brunt of Raon's attack to the chest, and let Fina's spells do its thing.

"Nothing more than a scratch!" [Zyrig]

He swung his arms wildly, driving Wilharrow and Leon away. Raon and I were still within his guard, making it hard for him to escape. He tried to step away, but I released my spear and started giving him the bare handed beatdown. This chipped away at his armor and allowed Raon to get more damage in as he unleashed a torrent of slashes.

"Bring him down!" [Raon]

"I'm trying!" [Solace]

Zyrig's blood splattered onto us, making it a wonder how he was still standing. Seeing the danger, Zyrig chose to discard his weapons and take us with his fists.

"|Eighth Legion Demonic Arts: Obliteration|!" [Zyrig]

He leaned back, enduring our attacks to let loose a haymaker of his own. Zyrig's fist coated itself in a dark aura, transmitting great destructive force into my arms as I took the blow for Raon. I felt my arms bend inward, a feeling I haven't had since my first eting with Jukhan.

"Urgh!" [Solace]

"Warning: Health has dropped by fifty percent." [Spirit Guide]

The next mont, I found myself slumped against a wall as I saw my allies fought Zyrig with great ferocity.

("My head... dizzy... Need... To help...!") [Solace]

I moved my arms to prop myself up, but found that they were most definitely broken.

"Oh." [Solace]

I still had mana though, so it was fine. Nothing that |Small Cure| can't fix.

("|Small Cure|.") [Solace]

As soon as I nded my arms, I tried to pick myself up, only to find sothing pressing against my chest.

"Huh?" [Solace]

The next thing I knew, I felt a sharp pain in my chest. I looked down to find a spear yanking itself out of my heart before vanishing.

"Sleep tight." [Edwill]

"Alert: |Blooming Undying| activation confird. All debuffs have been dispelled. Health and mana have been restored. All stats increased by fifty percent. Sanity has dropped by ten percent." [Spirit Guide]

As I regenerated and my strength bolstered, I realized that the one who killed must be that damn hero wearing the invisible cloak.

("That... bastard!") [Solace]

It could be a blessing in disguise though. My status had risen, which ans I could probably beat Zyrig now.

"He's tired! Don't let the opening that Alt made be in vain!" [Wilharrow]

They were pressuring Zyrig heavily. From the ti that I had died again, Zyrig was already on his last legs. Unard, unarmored, and bleeding from several places. Though, it didn't an my side was without injuries. Wilharrow and Raon were severely bruised. Unlikely that they were struck with a skill like I did, but Zyrig's average punch was just that destructive.

"I... shall not fall!" [Zyrig]

In his desperate struggle, the Demon Lord made her move.

"Oh god of demons, Reha. Please bestow upon your grace and allow to heal this lost soul. Benevolent nature, |Demonic Grace|." [Demon Lord]

A dim purple light enveloped Zyrig, closing his wounds and completely healing him.

"...What?!" [Raon]

"Thank you, milord!" [Zyrig]

"The Demon Lord is a healer! Take her down first!" [Wilharrow]

Hearing that, Zyrig imdiately bulldozed through their formation and placed himself between us and the Demon Lord. Naly speaking, he was standing on the stairs. Gods, I hate fighting on stairs.

"None shall harm the Demon Lord!" [Zyrig]

"Regroup!" [Wilharrow]

I got up and joined my allies, still wary of the invisible hero lurking about.

"Guys, report to . Any injuries?" [Wilharrow]

"My hands are numb, and I'm aching everywhere. Can't really tell." [Raon]

"Hurts." [Leon]

"I'm unhard, but I'm running low on mana crystals." [Fina]

"I'm at full throttle." [Solace]

"I don't know what that ans, Alt." [Wilharrow]

I think for the first ti, he straight up just said it. Wilharrow didn't even have the energy to ask what it ant.

"I'm ready to go. Full energy, no injuries." [Solace]

"Alright. Here's the plan. Fina, use your mana stones sparingly. We're all going to stall Zyrig while Alt takes out the Demon Lord." [Wilharrow]

"Wait, isn't Alt our heavy hitter? Shouldn't he stall and soone else go?" [Raon]

"He should go BECAUSE he's the heavy hitter. He'll finish off the Demon Lord faster. Besides, Feerae will probably turn his focus on Alt the mont he realizes the Demon Lord is in danger. We only need to focus on whittling that guard dog down." [Wilharrow]

Did he just blatantly admit to using as bait?

"Understood?" [Wilharrow]

"Understood." [Raon] [Fina] [Leon] [Solace]

"I'll take the lead." [Wilharrow]

As soon as Wilharrow rushed forward, we followed.

"|Holy Ray|!" [Wilharrow]

Firing off a beam of light, Zyrig blocked it with one hand.

"Flank him!" [Wilharrow]

Raon and Leon split off, taking Zyrig's left and right. Leon swung her greatsword with all her might, while Raon tried to play it smart with elusive swordsmanship. This led to Leon's sword getting caught and Raon occupying Zyrig's attention.

"|Holy Blade|!" [Wilharrow]

Encasing his sword in light, Wilharrow made an attempt to cut Zyrig down.

"Alt, follow after him!" [Fina]

As I chased behind, all three frontliners pushed relentlessly to occupy the Feerae's attention. Fina let loose a fireball, in which I stuck closely behind. It soared over Wilharrow and into Zyrig's face, obscuring his vision of as I propped and leapt off of Wilharrow's back and over the towering demon.

"Zyrig! One got through!" [Demon Lord]

"What?! Impossible!" [Zyrig]

He turned around, ignoring my allies and receiving their attacks to his back. It looked like it hurt, yet he shrugged it off before barrelling towards .

("Oh shit he's fast!") [Solace

I made a mad dash to the Demon Lord, who literally was a frightened child as I neared.

"This isn't personal!" [Solace]

There was no ti for doubts. It was either her, or us. I raised my hand into a blade, grabbing the demon child before attempting to take off her head.

"Too late." [Edwill]

As soon as I heard that despicable hero's voice, I knew things would go wrong. I witnessed a spear pierce through the Demon Lord's heart, an event that changed everything.

"This...! You...! Why...?!" [Solace]

It was a heart that I traveled through these lands for. A heart that I struggled and fought for. The heart that I needed. The heart that Fina NEEDED.

"NOOO!!!" [Zyrig]

An incredible energy surged behind , making unwilling to turn around.

"Warning: You have been targeted with intense hostility. Hostile entity status has changed to |Unstable|." [Spirit Guide]

I was afraid of what I would et if I peered over my shoulder. Still, I did.

("Ah...") [Solace]

It was an enraged Zyrig. So furious that tears of blood seed to stream down his face.

"You... You...! I SPARED you! I SPARED everyone! And what did you do?! You killed the very HOPE of the demon race!" [Zyrig]

A spirit appeared beside Zyrig, one that was a pure black mist.

"Warning: You are in the presence of a |Greater Spirit|." [Spirit Guide]

"|Invoke Aeos|!" [Zyrig]

The misty spirit entered Zyrig, as if it were possessing him. Then, it ca out as a manifestation of aura. The dark mist solidified itself as a wavy projection, turning itself into an armor, or a weapon in Zyrig's hands.

"No more... No more...! Just... make it all go away!" [Zyrig]

He mumbled to himself, as if he was a madman. Then, he went silent.

"...|Spirit Field: Falling Ruins|." [Zyrig]
