Our travels went surprisingly well after that. Bounty hunters would ignore us thanks to the new disguises, and the monsters just weren't even that strong. After traveling through a forest and a terribly slly swamp, we made it to the main road to the demon's capital.

"Finally. I can't wait to take a nice long bath." [Raon]

We approached the checkpoint where people were getting identified, but we're pretty confident not to get caught thanks to the new disguises.

"It's rare to see a group of demons traveling like this." [Guard]

We stopped by a blue skinned demon guard,

"We're family." [Wilharrow]

"From where?" [Guard]

That question was going to be troubling.

"Fieldpoint." [Wilharrow]

"Oh. Wait, Fieldpoint? I heard that the Unseeing Sword passed by." [Guard]

So it turns out the town we stopped at previously was called Fieldpoint. Good to know.

"Yeah... It was horrible. The Unseeing Sword knows no rcy." [Wilharrow]

"...I'm sorry to hear that." [Guard]

He seed like a pretty sympathetic guy.

"Well, just show your IDs and I'll let you in." [Guard]

"Can we use adventurer IDs?" [Wilharrow]

"Of course." [Guard]

We all pulled out our tal plates.

"Oh wow, most of you are D rank. Even a C rank? Impressive." [Guard]

"We try our best." [Wilharrow]

"Alrighty, you guys are good to go. Have a good one." [Guard]

We moved in as the guard called for the next in line.

"That was easy." [Raon]

"Lower your voice. We don't want to be suspicious." [Fina]

"You two acting like that is suspicious enough." [Wilharrow]

Can't argue with that.

"Now, can we get a place to stay?" [Raon]

"Are we going to the Adventurer's Guild here to dorm? Or are we going to pay for an inn?" [Solace]

"Majority vote. Who wants to dorm at the Adventurer's Guild?" [Wilharrow]

Leon and Fina raised a hand.

"What about the inn?" [Wilharrow]

Leon and Raon raised a hand.

"Wait, Leon. You can't vote twice." [Wilharrow]

"I can't?" [Leon]

"Pick one, please. Also, Alt? Are you not going to vote?" [Wilharrow]

"I don't really have a preference." [Solace]

"Why do I always have to..." [Wilharrow]

Wilharrow pinched between his eyes from stress.

"That's it, we're flipping a coin." [Wilharrow]

Turns out they also had that custom. Wilharrow flicked a copper coin and caught it.

"If it's north, then we go to the Adventurer's guild. If it's south we go to the inn." [Wilharrow]

I assud that north on the coin ans heads and south would be tails. Wilharrow took one peek at the coin and pocketed it.

"Adventurer's guild it is." [Wilharrow]

"Aw man..." [Raon]

"Don't be so sad. What's the difference between the two anyway?" [Solace]

"Inns have better sound proofing so that I don't have to hear rowdy people." [Raon]

"Ah... Right." [Solace]

I forgot to ntion, but Adventurer dorms worked a bit differently. The dorms are still within the guild, it's just that they're from the second floor upwards. The first floor is used as a place that can be a quest acceptance counter, kitchen, and dining hall. I think it depends on the location. Either way, the first floor is open twenty four hours so it's usually loud. I just never noticed it since I didn't have trouble sleeping. Not that I sleep in general. In any case, we headed towards the Adventurer's Guild.

"Do you know the way?" [Solace]

"Of course. I morized the map back from the last village we were at." [Wilharrow]

"Where did you get a map?" [Solace]

"It's not hard. Even a general store sells them for cheap. Have you been living under a rock?" [Wilharrow]

I can't say I was living under a rock, but I wasn't about to reveal that I just entered this world for almost half a year. Putting that aside, the architecture of the demon country was very different than I imagined. It looked kind of... modern? Not like "modern modern", but like minimalistic in a sense. The buildings were made like squares or rectangles. It was as if they were built in a systematic way for efficiency.

"What is this town called again?" [Solace]

"It's a city." [Wilharrow]

I rolled my eyes.

"What is this city called again?" [Solace]

"This is the capital of Lithik. Also known as Bernia. Why do you ask?" [Wilharrow]

"No reason." [Solace]

It was simple curiosity. Minus the fact that no one said anything for the past twelve minutes while we walked to the Adventurer's Guild. Seriously, did none of them know about small talk?

"Ah, this is it." [Wilharrow]

Just like the other buildings in the capital, it was like a really big rectangle. It was also very tall. Kind of like a skyscraper, but not to that level.

"Oh, just a heads up. I heard that the people here aren't too friendly." [Wilharrow]

"Great. Another problem." [Raon]

"I'll go first then." [Solace]

I decided to step up because the likelihood of getting hit imdiately from walking in was expected. Or maybe I just read too many light novels. I entered with my allies behind , to no surprise, eat a punch to the face.

"Agh!" [???]

So burly demon retreated while clutching his hand. I'm guessing there was so kind of ga going on considering most of the people in the background were laughing at him.

"C rank adventurer my ass! You couldn't even hurt him!" [???]

So drunkard was having the ti of his life back there. There appeared to be a table of demons betting or sothing in the back.

"Sh-Shut up! I'm not right handed!" [Burly Demon]

Like that was so excuse. I checked his level and it was only at a asly 60.

"Do it again!" [Drunkard]

The burly demon attempted to hit again, but I just caught it.

"Listen, can you just do this to the next guy? My friends and I have things to do." [Solace]

It was either he answered yes, or I was going to puml him into next tuesday.

"...Sure." [Burly Demon]

Much to my surprise, he backed down. Sure he looked defeated because more laughter erupted at him being a coward, yet I was sohow impressed that he had more brain than I thought.

"Let's go guys." [Solace]

I motioned my friends to co along.

"Wow, I thought you were going to..." [Wilharrow]

"What? Beat him up?" [Solace]

"No, I was thinking a little more..." [Wilharrow]

"Kill him. We thought you were going to kill him." [Wilharrow]

"What? Am I that bad in your eyes?" [Solace]

"Yes." [Wilharrow]

I don't think I've done anything that could make crashout like that. Oh wait, nevermind. I almost forgot about the Divine Beast situation. ...Now I'm depressed again.

"Let's get our lodgings." [Wilharrow]

"Sure, you guys do that. I've got sothing to do real quick." [Solace]

"Like?" [Raon]

"I have to wrap things up properly." [Solace]

I handed my friends their things and headed over to the drunkard's table. From what I've learned from novels and stuff, these kinds of people co back to trouble people later in the story. So, might as well get it over with.

"Hey." [Solace]

I pulled up a random chair and made myself ho at their table. I also found that the burly demon had also returned to this table.

"Huh? What're you doin' here, brat?" [Drunkard]

"I'd like you guys to know that I didn't appreciate what your friend did over there." [Solace]

The burly demon guy tried to make himself look smaller. It was actually kind of funny.

"And? What're you gonna do about it?" [Drunkard]

The drunkard reached down and took out a dagger, leading to him stabbing it into the table. Was he threatening ?

"I just want to make sure that you and your friends here leave and my friends alone. That's it." [Solace]

The drunkard and his friends burst out laughing.

"And what if I don't want to?" [Drunkard]

I smiled and slowly reached over to his dagger, grabbing it by the blade before crushing it in the palm of my hand.

"Understand?" [Solace]

Silence remained on the table until the drunkard and his friends started laughing again.

"Even a babe can perform that little trick! Who do you think you're foolin'! BAHAHA!!!" [Drunkard]

Okay, so I embarrassed myself a little.

"Screw it. Let's take this outside." [Solace]

"Ya hear that lads! The "babe" wants to tussel! BAHAHA!!!" [Drunkard]

I was starting to have many questions. First of all, why did this guy sound like either a pirate or he was Irish. Second, I didn't know "tussel" existed here. Third, I wonder if anyone will miss him after I kill him?

"...Are you done laughing?" [Solace]

"Hold on... Hold on... Phew... Alright, what were ye' saying?" [Drunkard]

I've never heard soone say "ye'" in my life. This was getting so weird.

"I'm not even that mad anymore. Just say yes or no to leaving and my friends alone. If you pick yes, I'll leave. If you say no, I'm about to slug you. If you start spouting random bullshit again, I'm about to imdiately crash out and everyone here can get it." [Solace]

"...Get what?" [Drunkard]

"Fuck around and find out." [Solace]

The drunkard waited for a mont. He made a show of thinking while scratching his chin before answering.

"No." [Drunkard]
