Ashley Shaw scratched her head and followed Warren Prescott to the trunk.

She wasn’t in the best condition today.

Before getting in the car, she rembered to take the "school gift pack" that Grandpa Prescott gave her, but now she had completely forgotten.

When Ashley Shaw walked over, Warren Prescott had already taken out the "gift pack" from the trunk.

The gift pack from Grandpa Prescott truly lived up to its na—it was indeed quite large—

A 24-inch bright red suitcase.

The last ti Ashley Shaw went to the Prescott Family, Elder Prescott told her he had prepared a school gift pack for her, and it was already placed in the car’s trunk, so she hadn’t seen the "real deal."

Now seeing it, her eyes couldn’t help but widen slightly.

"Is there... really stuff in there?"

When Warren Prescott took the suitcase out of the trunk, it wasn’t exactly effortless, but it wasn’t smooth either.

The mont he set it down, a slight vein popped on his temple.

With the suitcase firmly on the ground, Warren Prescott looked at her and asked, "What do you think?"

The items inside were roughly estimated to weigh fifty or sixty pounds.

What exactly did the old man pack in there?

Rocks?

Ashley Shaw reached out to pull the suitcase handle.

"I’ll do it myself."

Warren Prescott chuckled with interest, leisurely stepping back to watch her quietly.

Ashley Shaw didn’t understand what Warren Prescott was observing, but as soon as she tried to pull the suitcase, she understood.

It was so heavy!

She seriously suspected that a person was packed inside; otherwise, why would it be so heavy just pulling it on flat ground?

No wonder Warren Prescott had a vein pop on his forehead earlier—it was really damn heavy!

But Ashley Shaw was not soone who would easily admit defeat.

She put on a calm front, appearing relaxed, yet inside she was exerting imnse effort to pull the suitcase.

Warren Prescott didn’t move; he just stood there watching her.

Not until Ashley Shaw dragged the suitcase to the entrance of the apartnt building, preparing to head up the stairs, did she hear footsteps coming from behind.

She turned her head to look, seeing that Warren Prescott had followed her.

"Is there sothing else?" Ashley Shaw asked.

With a sidelong glance, she saw the trunk door was still open, sticking up as if mocking her pretended ease.

Warren Prescott clenched his back teeth with his tongue, using restraint not to say sothing that would upset Ashley Shaw.

"Let do it."

"No need... I can do it myself." Ashley Shaw smiled, her expression seemingly light and carefree.

Warren Prescott lightly pressed his lips together.

"Stop pretending, I know how heavy it is."

Ashley Shaw still insisted, "I can do it."

Warren Prescott crossed his arms.

"Alright then, you carry it, I’ll watch."

"What’s there to watch? Aren’t you in a hurry to get back to the office? Hurry and go," Ashley Shaw said cheerfully, though inside she had already cursed Warren Prescott countless tis.

Is watching her struggle really that amusing?

Warren Prescott said blandly, "I’m not in a rush anymore, I’ll just watch you, you go ahead, don’t mind . Just pretend I’m not here."

Ashley Shaw bit down hard on her teeth, rolled up her sleeves, and dragged the suitcase up the stairs one step at a ti.

To say she was lifting it would be exaggerating; it was more like a stubborn, forceful drag.

Finally managing to pull the suitcase to the door of Unit 101, a voice ca from the stairwell, "Who is it? Knocking drums in the middle of the night, can’t a person get so sleep?"

Ashley Shaw halted, and before she had a chance to apologize through the door, a big hand appeared out of nowhere and took the suitcase from her grasp.

Looking up, she t Warren Prescott’s deep and dark gaze.

"If you don’t want to be cursed by the whole building, stop being stubborn."

Ariana Grant’s family lived on the fifth floor, and the old-style neighborhood had no elevators.

To get that suitcase upstairs without making much noise was a real challenge.

Faced with the option of being cursed by the whole building and letting Warren Prescott carry it upstairs, she had no choice but to choose the latter.

"Thanks."

She stepped back, leaving space for Warren Prescott to proceed upwards.

Warren Prescott single-handedly lifted the suitcase, carrying it directly on his shoulder.

His shoulders were broad and sturdy, effortlessly lifting the suitcase high.

Just as Ashley Shaw was about to follow up, she heard Warren Prescott say, "There’s still a bag in the trunk, go grab it."

Ashley Shaw said "Oh," and turned to head back downstairs.

When she reached the car trunk, she saw a bag of dicine that Warren Prescott had picked up from the pharmacy midway.

Could it be this?

But wasn’t that sothing Warren Prescott bought for himself?

Aside from this bag in the trunk, there was nothing else.

Ashley Shaw circled around to check the backseat and found nothing but a cushion.

Oh well, just take it up first.

Ashley Shaw picked up the bag.

The bag wasn’t closed, and as she lifted it, a box of dicine fell out.

The big characters "Motherwort" were printed prominently on the box.

Without a doubt, Motherwort is for won.

Claudia Jennings couldn’t have sent Warren Prescott to buy this in the middle of the night.

The only possibility was that Warren Prescott bought it for her at that mont.

She picked up the Motherwort and put the dicine back in.

Glancing inside, she saw a hodgepodge of dicine stuffed inside.

Besides a few large boxes of Motherwort, there were ginger tea pouches and other things won might use during their period.

There were even nstruation painkillers inside.

Ashley Shaw felt an indescribable complex emotion in her heart.

It was like a stone being tossed into a long-dead still lake.

But she quickly suppressed the feeling, picked up the bag filled with dicine, and hurriedly walked into the building.

She believed she climbed the stairs quickly enough to catch up to Warren Prescott, yet unexpectedly she didn’t see him along the way. It was only when she reached the fifth-floor door did she see Warren Prescott waiting for her, seated on the stairs.

Such speed.

For those who didn’t know, they might’ve thought he’d co up empty-handed.

Just to be safe, Ashley Shaw lifted the bag in her hand and confird, "Is this it?"

"Yeah."

Upon seeing her co up, Warren Prescott didn’t say a single unnecessary word beyond that one response. He brushed past her, heading downstairs.

This saved Ashley Shaw the step of having to feign politeness by inviting him in when she didn’t want to.

"Thank you, drive safely on your way back."

Warren Prescott acted as if he hadn’t heard and quickened his pace, soon disappearing from sight.

Monts later, Ashley Shaw heard the sound of a car engine starting.

By the ti she lugged the suitcase into the living room and looked out the window, the Maybach downstairs was already gone.

The living room lights turned on at this mont.

From behind ca the voice of Ariana Grant, "Ashley, you’re finally back!"

Ashley Shaw turned around in surprise.

"You’re not asleep yet? Did I wake you?"

"No, I was waiting for you on purpose. Did you bring sothing to eat?" Ariana Grant said, noticing the bag Ashley Shaw put on the suitcase, and quickly picked it up, "Is this sothing to eat?"

Ashley Shaw hadn’t had a chance to respond, when Ariana Grant had already opened the bag.

"Huh? Why is it all dicine? This doesn’t fill the stomach."

Ashley Shaw couldn’t help but laugh.

"All you think about is eating!"

Though she complained, she still took out a bottle of yogurt she had grabbed before leaving.

"This is all I have, want it?"

"Yes!"

Ariana Grant grabbed the yogurt and asked her, "What’s with the suitcase? Didn’t you go to a welco party? How co you ca back with soone else’s suitcase?"
