Eric’s eyes glead with a bloodthirsty intensity. "This ti... I won’t hold back!"

Had he ever held back before? The Miller family had already been brought to their knees by him and Lucas, their noble title stripped away. They didn’t even have the strength to seek revenge!

The one targeting Elias this ti must be the mysterious individual who had once written to Ella.

But Eric couldn’t figure out why that person had sent a warning letter beforehand and then shifted their target. Was it part of their sche?

So criminals thrive on a sense of superiority, enjoying the act of insulting others’ intelligence.

Like those assassins who publish a "death list" before striking.

"This ti, you’ve crossed soone powerful... Let’s hope your son can be rescued. Otherwise, it’ll indeed be dangerous if he’s taken away."

Warren cast him a sympathetic glance before heading to the other side to oversee the work.

Two hours later.

Ella and young Dorian returned ho under the protection of four bodyguards.

Mrs. Harris and Mrs. Moore were curious to see Ella bringing back only Dorian, but her dark expression kept them from asking questions.

Maybe the couple had argued?

But as soon as little Dorian saw his brother’s favorite model airplane still lying on the floor, he teared up and ran into Ella’s arms. "Mommy, why hasn’t Elias co ho yet? Why didn’t Daddy bring him back?"

Ella’s heart ached deeply. "Dorian... don’t worry. Your daddy will bring Elias back."

Tears stread down Dorian’s cheeks. Ella gently wiped them away with a soft smile. "Don’t be scared, sweetheart. I’ll have the chef prepare your favorite dishes, and Mrs. Harris will go out to buy all the snacks you like!"

A little foodie, Dorian’s eyes lit up at the ntion of food. He happily went off to play, but before long, he was sitting on the floor crying again.

Ella felt a pang of heartbreak and helplessness. Elias and Dorian had never been apart like this before—not since they were born.

"What’s wrong, ma’am? Should we do sothing? Did you and... the young master have a fight?" Mrs. Harris asked as she comforted the sobbing Dorian.

Ella shook her head, her eyes red. She didn’t want to talk about it.

Mrs. Harris and Mrs. Moore exchanged glances. Ella knelt beside her younger son, hugging him gently. "Mrs. Moore, please go out and buy more of Dorian’s favorite treats."

Hearing this, Dorian pouted but seed to calm down a little.

"Of course, ma’am. I’ll go right away. Don’t cry, little master. Mrs. Harris will bring you lots of goodies soon!" Mrs. Harris said with a smile, and Mrs. Moore crouched down beside them.

Having once been the nanny for both brothers, Mrs. Moore still held a special place in Dorian’s heart.

"Little master, don’t cry. How about I take you outside to see the goldfish in the pond? Mrs. Moore just bought a bunch of them today. You’ll love it!"

Dorian’s tear-streaked face brightened at the idea. Smiling through his sniffles, he montarily forgot about Elias being taken.

As Mrs. Moore led Dorian away, Ella sank to the floor, staring blankly at Elias’s toys.

The group that had taken Elias operated with precision, their thods refined—clearly the result of years of training and practice.

Could the mastermind behind this be the sa person who had written to her?

Ella’s mind was a tangled ss, and as her thoughts spiraled, tears began to fall again.

If it had been her who was frad or in trouble, she might have been able to remain calm. But Elias was only three years old. She couldn’t help but worry—would he stay composed, or would he lose his temper and anger those n in black?

Although little Elias was usually cheerful and lively, with remarkable intelligence and emotional awareness for his age—and they had even rehearsed countless abduction scenarios as gas—what if he couldn’t remain as calm in a real situation?

When Elias and Dorian had their birthday, Ella had received a mysterious note. After investigating, it was discovered that a stranger had emailed instructions to a woman, who then wrote the letter to Ella. Even then, the trail to the mastermind had gone cold.

Just then, Lucas and Luke arrived together.

Lucas’s face was pale. He adored his two grandsons beyond asure, and with Elias now in danger, there was no way he could stay composed.

"Ella, what exactly happened?" Lucas crouched down, gripping her trembling hands tightly.

Ella’s voice trembled, choking back a sob. "Haven’t you heard already?"

Lucas’s expression darkened, his brows furrowed with an icy intensity. "How many of them were there?"

"Six... six of those mascot-costud people, and two n in black. They..." Ella couldn’t continue; tears stread uncontrollably down her face. Lucas’s heart ached as he watched her, while Luke clenched his fists and turned away to avoid looking at her pain.

"Don’t worry," Lucas said in a steady voice. "Eric just called . They’re already pursuing those people. The police pulled surveillance footage and tracked a suspicious vehicle to the seaside. The coast guard is involved now."

Ella nodded heavily. Lucas helped her up as she let out a deep sigh and sank wearily onto the sofa.

Every minute dragged by like an eternity.

For Ella, ti had never passed so agonizingly slow.

Jas arrived in a hurry, and Lucas stepped outside with him to discuss the situation. When Jas spotted little Dorian playing by the pond, his heart filled with both affection and sorrow.

Dorian looked so much like Eric—his snow-white skin and innocent deanor tugged at Jas’s heartstrings. But the thought of Elias being taken made it almost impossible for him to breathe.

As a grandfather who rarely had the chance to see his grandchildren, Jas felt helpless in the face of their tragedy.

"Lucas," Jas said, his voice pleading. "This ti... whatever you find out, please let know. Will you?"

Lucas nodded solemnly. "Of course. After all... you’re still the child’s grandfather. Whether or not you and Eric have resolved your differences, that blood bond can’t be denied."

He understood that Jas might want a chance to redeem himself. If his help could lead to finding Elias sooner, Lucas wouldn’t refuse it.

Ella stumbled back upstairs. She couldn’t stay downstairs anymore—seeing Elias’s toys only made her tears flow uncontrollably and deepened her anguish. The resentnt in her heart grew stronger.

She knew Eric wouldn’t have wanted this to happen, but she still couldn’t help blaming him.

Once back in the master bedroom, Ella collapsed onto the bed, overwheld by a sense of helplessness.

The last ti she’d felt this small was when Eric had been kidnapped. She hadn’t been able to do anything then either. Now, she was plunged into despair all over again.

At that mont, Eric’s phone rang.

Ella glanced at the screen.

It was Aurora calling again.
