Ye Rou and Li Wanying were in the sa predicant; neither of them had it easy. They didn’t dare to eat, sleep, or do anything at all, not even speak loudly. Yet, they had no way to leave this place. Everyone here was either an insect or, if not, hardly normal.

They had thought of escaping, but the vast sea offered no way out. On the island, everything either flew or crawled. The two of them were complete outsiders. Moreover, the secret chambers behind them were enveloped in a thick fog and teeming with poisonous creatures they dared not approach.

Ever since eting Young Master Ye, they had lived in constant fear. Although Young Master Ye treated them fairly well—albeit with a volatile temper—they were still terrified. Even when he ordered Shangguan Rou to change her na to Ye Rou, it was done with a single command, unquestioned.

They had no choice but to try and get closer, not daring to speak a word. In Young Master Ye’s presence, even the once-arrogant Shangguan Rou and the resourceful Li Wanying were reduced to dirt beneath his feet, worth less than the crawling insects on the ground.

"Mommy, I don’t know... I’m so scared," Ye Rou murmured to Li Wanying, her body trembling.

"Hurry up," Ye Min’s icy voice cut through the air beside the mother and daughter, making them both shiver involuntarily and quicken their pace. They dared not offend this man, Ye Min.

On the sandy beach, a pale golden sunlight bathed the scene. Young Master Ye, dressed in a white robe that made his face seem almost ethereal, sat elegantly in a wheelchair. An Ya gently pushed him from behind as they enjoyed the sun.

At that mont, Young Master Ye looked like a pristine, untouched angel—provided one ignored the various insects sunbathing on the ground around him, just as he was.

"Young Master, Miss Ye and Madam Li have arrived," Ye Min announced respectfully. He then moved to An Ya’s side, both standing deferentially behind Young Master Ye.

"Mm," Young Master Ye acknowledged, his gaze gentle as he looked at the two trembling figures before him. He extended a slender hand, beckoning Ye Rou.

"Co here. Daddy wants to see if you’ve gained any weight in the past three months," Young Master Ye said softly. His voice was tender, yet it made Ye Rou tremble even more violently. Had she gained weight? If she had, would she be fed to the insects, beco their food?

"I... I..." Ye Rou stamred, her body quaking like an autumn leaf. She was scared of this man. In his eyes, she saw no affection, only coldness.

"Co here," Young Master Ye’s tone hardened as he looked at the quivering mother and daughter. An unsightly woman like Li Wanying ordinarily had no right to remain there. However, Ye Rou needed company, and Young Master Ye rather enjoyed witnessing the struggles of those on the brink of death, so he had allowed her to live.

"Rourou, go to him, or he’ll kill us," Li Wanying whispered, patting Ye Rou’s hand. Her own body trembled as she tried to offer comfort, though she was just as scared. No matter how ruthless Young Master Ye was, Ye Rou was his daughter; he wouldn’t kill her. But Li Wanying knew her own situation was different. She had reminded Ye Rou of this countless tis, even several tis a day, yet facing Young Master Ye still terrified her.

In three months, they had witnessed far too much of this man’s cruelty.

Ye Rou’s legs trembled as she walked, step by painstaking step, towards Young Master Ye. "Daddy," she called out, her voice barely a whisper.

"Yes, co here, let see," Young Master Ye nodded, satisfied. Although Ye Rou was timid and afraid of him, this was precisely the effect he desired.

"Yes," Ye Rou’s trembling intensified, especially when Young Master Ye took her hand. She nearly lost her balance, a chill seeping deep into her bones, her back cold. She wanted to faint; she was terrified of this man.

"Have you grown accustod to being here these past three months?" Young Master Ye asked, his voice soft and gentle, as if he hadn’t noticed Ye Rou’s fear. Yet, the gentler his tone, the more frightened Ye Rou and Li Wanying beca.

"Yes, yes, acc—custod," Ye Rou stuttered, her face a mask of terror as she looked at Young Master Ye. She desperately wanted to wrench her hand from his cold grasp, but she was too afraid; she dared not...

"You’re familiar with the island now. I trust you still prefer the outside world. Tomorrow, you can leave and return to where you belong," Young Master Ye said softly. His words felt like a ray of sunshine piercing through clouds for the two won. But could Young Master Ye truly be so kind? They knew his secrets; would he really let them go?

The montary joy was swiftly replaced by an overwhelming fear, causing them to shake even more violently.

"Don’t be afraid. You are my only daughter; how could I harm you? From now on, the Ye Family’s affairs in Beijing will depend heavily on you and your mother," Young Master Ye said, gently patting the back of Ye Rou’s hand. His tender tone, however, only made them more terrified.

"I... I..." Ye Rou’s lips trembled, unable to form a complete sentence. Li Wanying was in no better state. If it weren’t for the multitude of insects on the ground—she knew if she collapsed, she would undoubtedly crush many, and the penalty for that was death in various horrific ways—Li Wanying would have fainted without hesitation.

What did Young Master Ye’s words an? Let them leave? Send them to the Ye Family in Beijing?

"Rest assured, Ye Min will accompany you. No one will bully you, not even Shangguan You. I can also help with the Li Family’s matters and assist them in returning to the center of power. My second younger brother can be a bit cold, but as long as you don’t provoke him, he won’t cause you trouble."

"You can help the Li Family? What are your conditions? Why would you help the Li Family?" Li Wanying cried out, the images of her family mbers being used, one by one, becoming food for these creatures, flashing before her eyes again. Her voice rose, laced with an indescribable terror.

"Of course, it’s to thank you for raising such a good daughter for ?" Young Master Ye smiled. The more beautiful sothing is, the more poisonous it tends to be.
