Master Ye stood suspended in mid-air. With a wave of his hands, those creatures suffered heavy casualties. He watched as the large beasts, with an almost human-like intelligence, commanded their troops cooperatively: two large ones led countless smaller ones toward Master Ye, while the others continued to charge at the passage, intent on widening the gap—which was only as thick as an index finger—to allow the creatures on the other side to enter swiftly.
"What on earth are you creatures?" The calm expression on Master Ye’s face vanished, and beads of sweat ford on his forehead. That crack must be sealed. Otherwise, if it expands and they devour a few more people, their intelligence will continually increase. By then, dealing with them would be a pipe dream.
As this thought crossed his mind, the Spiritual Energy in Master Ye’s hands beca even sharper. He realized that trying to stop the insects with his power alone was proving incredibly difficult.
anwhile, the earth’s strata violently shook as a Crystal Coffin suddenly erged from within. The Crystal Coffin radiated a dazzling light that assaulted Master Ye’s eyes. With a loud BANG, the Crystal Coffin automatically opened, and a figure shot out.
"A Guardian!" Master Ye exclaid in shock, just as he was viciously bitten on the leg. He waved his hands again and promptly split the creature biting his foot into pieces.
"Intruder, you shall not be spared," a cold voice spilled from the mouth of the figure that had flown out from the Crystal Coffin. With a sweep of her hands, a torrential wave of Spiritual Energy surged into the gap. The Spiritual Energy shone brightly as it passed, nding the gap at a speed visible to the naked eye. Wherever the light reached, the insects were annihilated, and the index-finger-sized gap was swiftly repaired. The crawling insects in the light’s path vanished instantly.
After the Guardian had repaired the gap, she turned her attention to Master Ye and the three large beasts surrounding him. She did not imdiately fall into slumber or return to the Crystal Coffin. Instead, she locked her gaze on them.
A powerful surge of Spiritual Energy, carrying multicolored light, swept over the three large beasts. A series of SCREECHES echoed as they disintegrated into dust, truly vanishing within the secret chamber. Was this the Guardian’s power?
Master Ye was shocked by the Guardian’s abilities while also covertly observing her. This was a character who only appeared in legends, yet here she was before him, having helped him greatly.
"Are you the Guardian of this realm? Is there truly a passage to other realms in this world?" Master Ye muttered, looking at the Guardian who radiated multicolored light. This is a significant discovery! The questions burned within him. This ti, I wasn’t prepared, which is why I was ambushed. Once I’m fully prepared and bring the elites of the Ye Family, I will surely return.
"You do not belong to the humans of this space," the Guardian replied, launching an attack directly at Master Ye without answering his question.
"What are you trying to do? I belong here!" Master Ye dodged the attacks while cursing bitterly. He had great confidence in his appearance, and few won could resist him. Yet, this woman ignored him completely and even launched a fierce attack against him.
"You used to belong, but not anymore," the Guardian said with a cold voice as she struck at Master Ye’s vitals. The battle was fierce between a Guardian of the realm and the self-proclaid most powerful person of that realm.
Luckily, Master Ye had taken precautions not to alarm the Shen Family and had erected a strong barrier around the area. Otherwise, the intense fighting within the earth would have undoubtedly alerted many people and caused a sensation.
"Are you really a Guardian?" roared Master Ye in anger. He had been attacked in many places, suffered nurous injuries, and the wound where he was bitten was now throbbing and numb.
"You have now beco a foreign entity," the Guardian’s voice was icy, even carrying a hint of deadly resolve. Her gaze scanned the wound on Master Ye’s leg—the reason she was relentlessly pursuing him.
"You’re the foreign entity! It’s just a small wound! Why are you chasing ? Do you really think the Ye Family can be bullied so easily?" Master Ye roared in fury, mustering all his strength to assail the Guardian. With two loud BANGS, both Master Ye and the Guardian were thrown back several steps. Master Ye spat out several mouthfuls of blood. He had sustained severe internal injuries.
"You’re ruthless! But I will have my revenge!" Master Ye spat out more blood, his figure vanishing mysteriously from the chamber. This was the first ti he had fled in such an embarrassing manner.
After putting so distance between himself and his pursuer and ensuring he wasn’t being followed, he finally breathed a sigh of relief and then fainted. This incident was the greatest humiliation of his life, and the first ti he had ever fled like a beaten dog—a significant blunder. Naturally, when telling this story, he would gloss over it, never letting anyone know the extent of his defeat.
When he awoke again, he slowly realized sothing was different about himself. The wound where he had been bitten was mysteriously healing. Additionally, his mind was suddenly filled with many unfamiliar thoughts.
The new thoughts filled Master Ye’s heart with deep fear. A voice inside kept telling him that he was no longer the person he used to be. He was now... it. And also... it.
In the ti that followed, Master Ye suppressed the changes within his body. He even sought countless doctors, but none could find the cause. Half a year later, Master Ye inadvertently ca across the Guardian in the secret chamber—the one who had relentlessly sought his life.
Sensing the faint gaze sweeping over him, Master Ye once again fled in panic. Afterwards, he slowly began to leverage his abilities to uncover the identity of that woman.
