"Shangguan You, if you have guts, stop running!" Ye An Ya roared furiously, smashing through the glass and chasing after Shangguan You. Their figures quickly disappeared outside the window.
Chen Xu’s eyes widened in disbelief as he watched the scene unfold. He had thought Ye An Ya would just smash through the glass and then fall, likely sustaining severe injuries, if not dying, from such a height. But instead, her body actually flew up into mid-air, and astonishingly, so did Shangguan You.
Chen Xu blinked several tis. He felt as if the world had turned mystical; the world he knew had changed, becoming unrecognizable. "Ye An, take care of this person," Second Young Master Ye commanded icily. Following that, he took flight once again, vanishing amidst Chen Xu’s renewed shock.
"Well, how was that? Interesting, wasn’t it?" Ye An sat down beside Chen Xu. With a wave of his hands, Chen Xu’s body slumped down limply.
Ye An murmured a few words into Chen Xu’s ear. By the ti Chen Xu awoke, he would have completely forgotten everything he had just witnessed, with no mory of it remaining.
"Ye Min, take him downstairs."
"Yes," Ye Min acknowledged, tucking Chen Xu under one arm and stepping into the elevator. Right now, he lacked the ability or authority to intervene; he was just a man less capable than even a bodyguard.
「In mid-air」
Shangguan You watched Ye An Ya, whose eyes were red with rage, and a smirk played on her lips. With a deft flick of her hands, a red light flashed, and a Fire Dragon surged from her body, heading straight for Ye An Ya. The Fire Dragon coiled, its head eting its tail, trapping Ye An Ya completely within its circle.
"Shangguan You, you’re despicable!" Ye An Ya cried out. The mont she moved, the Fire Dragon drew closer. Despite the freezing weather, she could feel the scorching heat of the flas, and her body trembled involuntarily. "Oh? Am I? I wasn’t aware," Shangguan You said, arms crossed over her chest. With another flick of her fingers, a throne conjured from flas materialized behind her. She gracefully took her seat upon it.
"This not only keeps one warm but also dispels the cold. How wonderful," Shangguan You said with a light laugh, comfortably shifting her posture. Ye An Ya grew even more enraged. She tried to charge through the flas several tis, but they surrounded her on all sides; there was no way out.
Shangguan You was not afraid of fire, but Ye An Ya was different. If she tried to force her way through, her body would be burned to ash. The flas Shangguan You now summoned were even more intense, more scorching than those in the Hidden World Village, and Ye An Ya’s heart quaked with fear.
"Shangguan You, know when to stop! Don’t take it too far!" a dark figure flashed by, and Second Young Master Ye appeared beside Shangguan You. He frowned as he saw Ye An Ya enveloped by the great fire. "Why should I stop now?" Shangguan You retorted coldly. "Go tell him, for every counterfeit he sends, I’ll destroy just as many. These failures—it’s best they’re not released again, or I’ll destroy the entire Ye Family."
Shangguan You stood atop the throne, surrounded by brilliant crimson flas, radiating an intense aura.
Her deep, mysterious eyes turned a vivid red. She hovered in mid-air, and with a wave of her hands, dense flas surged to completely envelop Ye An Ya.
"Ah, Second Young Master Ye, save ! Save ! I don’t want to die! I don’t want to die!" Ye An Ya scread, her body slowly being consud by the fire.
"Shangguan You, let her go!"
"If you have the ability, save her yourself," Shangguan You sneered. With a wave of her hands, the fire intensified. Second Young Master Ye swung his hands towards Shangguan You, but the flas, as if sentient, fiercely guarded her, blocking him from getting close.
The vivid crimson flas, a raging inferno, enveloped a white figure—an exceptionally beautiful yet eerie sight. The mont Second Young Master Ye touched the flas, his entire body recoiled several steps. He stared at Shangguan You, his disbelief mounting.
"Second Young Master Ye, take a good look! What exactly is your future young madam made of?" Shangguan You scoffed. The flas around Ye An Ya quickly receded, gathering back towards Shangguan You.
Where Ye An Ya had just stood, there was now only a charred mass. A palm-sized Puppet Poisonous Insect appeared where Ye An Ya had been.
"The Ye Family’s Puppet Poisonous Insect certainly lives up to its reputation. But to use it on one’s own people... only that deviant, the Ye Family’s eldest son, could do such a thing," Shangguan You sneered. Waving her hands again, the flas flared up, burning the insect to ash.
Second Young Master Ye’s expression turned grim, his thoughts unreadable.
"What was that just now?" he asked after a long pause, his tone heavy.
"A Gu. Isn’t biology what your Ye Family excels in? Specializing in these insects. And yet, as the Second Young Master of the Ye Family, you don’t even know what these are? If word of this got out, wouldn’t people laugh their heads off?" Shangguan You mocked coldly.
"A Gu? Explain it clearly," Second Young Master Ye furrowed his brow. The Ye Family excels in biology? As the Second Young Master of the Ye Family, how could he not know?
"The thing that took on Ye An Ya’s form was a Gu, called a Replacent Gu. It is created from a Gu, the original person’s essence blood, and infused with Spiritual Energy. It’s indistinguishable from the real person, possessing their thoughts and mories, essentially a perfect replica," Shangguan You explained dispassionately, casting a sidelong glance at Second Young Master Ye. What a fool, not even aware of his own family’s affairs, and an outsider like her had to explain it.
Yet, regarding the Ye Family’s eldest son, Shangguan You felt a grudging admiration. To have succeeded in research from failed products, and even using those close to him as test subjects...
"Are you saying... this Ye An Ya was fake?"
"Did you really think Ye An Ya was real?" Shangguan You scoffed disdainfully.
"Go tell the Ye Family’s eldest son, whatever he’s planning, he’d better not provoke . For every one he sends, I will burn just as many. I don’t care if it’s a Puppet Gu, a Replacent Gu, or so other mutated gene. And tell him, as for his underhanded sches, he should try pulling them in reputable places if he dares," Shangguan You commanded coldly, her body already drifting down to the ground.
