"Ruoling, see? I’ll always be Hao’s Jiejie. If you’re jealous, you should make Big Brother protect you in the sa way. Isn’t that right, Hao?" Lin ngjie said, her face full of happiness, which further stung Li Wanying’s eyes.
"Yes, whatever Jiejie says is right. Let’s go back to our room; the baby needs to rest. We’ll go and do so prenatal education," Shangguan Hao said gently, helping Lin ngjie up.
"Mhm," she agreed.
"Let carry you. With your heavy body, I’m afraid you might fall if you’re not careful, and that would make my heart ache," Shangguan Hao said, glancing at her cumberso figure. He then swept Lin ngjie up into his arms and headed upstairs.
Lin ngjie’s eyes curved like crescent moons. She made a victory gesture to Liu Ruoling before gently planting a kiss on Shangguan Hao’s cheek, which made him even happier.
Ungrateful boy. He got a wife and forgot his mother, the Shangguan matriarch thought, her face clouded with gloom, as Li Wanying helped her upstairs to rest. Li Wanying trembled with rage. Watching Lin ngjie’s retreating figure, she said resentfully, "Lin ngjie, just you wait!" Li Wanying left in a fury to find the Shangguan matriarch. She had thought the matriarch would take her side, but instead, the matriarch scolded her and told her not to visit unless it was necessary.
