So, Zhuge Feng began to search the study thoroughly. Although he knew the place must have been searched countless tis, he remained persistent. He wouldn’t be at ease until he had searched it himself.
Just as he was coming up empty-handed and continuing his ticulous search, a cool voice rang out. It was gentle and light, as if remarking on the pleasant weather.
"What are you looking for?" the woman’s indifferent voice asked. Zhuge Feng was startled to find a woman leaning against the doorfra; he hadn’t noticed her before. Dressed in a beige camisole dress, she stood bathed in light, her wide eyes fixed on Zhuge Feng. How odd, she thought, what could a man possibly be doing in the study at this late hour?
This woman was none other than Lin ngjie. This was their first eting—the thief and the hoowner.
"I’m looking for sothing," Zhuge Feng replied, his face turning red. It was always won who blushed when they saw him, but facing Lin ngjie’s clear gaze, his heart involuntarily faltered. He had never known such a woman existed. She just stood there, simply leaning against the doorfra, yet she exuded an air of nobility that inspired awe and respect.
For the first ti, Zhuge Feng felt his heartbeat quicken, and his words began to turn incoherent.
"Oh—" Lin Jieng drew out the sound, her posture still gracefully relaxed against the door. After a mont, she spoke again, "Do you need any help?"
Hearing Lin ngjie’s words, Zhuge Feng shuddered violently, his complexion turning grim. Even the recent pounding of his heart rapidly returned to normal. How could he have forgotten? He was the one who had snuck into the study, and now the hoowner had caught him red-handed and was asking if he needed help?

"No need," Zhuge Feng rejected coldly.
"Oh—" Lin ngjie let out another prolonged ’oh,’ her clear eyes calmly observing Zhuge Feng for a few monts before she slowly spoke again.
"Then take your ti. Rember to turn off the lights when you leave," Lin ngjie said softly. With a press of her hands, she switched on the lights in the study, gave these light instructions, and turned to leave.
Zhuge Feng was frustrated. He couldn’t comprehend whether this woman was genuinely naive or just pretending. She clearly knew he was a thief, yet she kindly turned on the lights for him and even told him to close the door when he left. What kind of strange person was she? Or was she just a foolish girl?
Since his youth, Zhuge Feng had been hailed as a genius. Today, for the first ti, a woman had managed to fluster him so badly with just a few words. Watching her departing figure, Zhuge Feng resentfully struck the wall. Then, the sound of the woman’s delicate laughter reached his ears again. Zhuge Feng clenched his fists tightly. He wanted to strangle that damned woman.
"Sister-in-law, another fool visited our study," Lin ngjie’s faint, soft voice said.
"Let them be. Soone cos every night," another voice chid in. It was Liu Ruoling’s.
"But that one was so foolish! When I found him, he didn’t even run. He just stood there looking dazed. He’s decent-looking, but not as handso as Hao, nor as imposing."
"Really? You’re always talking about Hao. It’s like he’s the only one in your eyes; no other man stands a chance with you. Only you could withstand all that pressure to marry into the family. Sigh... so, what did you do to that thief?"
"I asked him if he needed my help. He actually said no, and he didn’t even run away!"
"He really must be a fool then. Anyone else would have vanished without a trace."
"Yes! I was worried he couldn’t see clearly because it was a dark and windy night, so I kindly turned on the light for him and told him to turn it off when he left. His face turned black then, and he was panting like an ox!"
"Hehe, ngjie, just let them be. After all, that study has been searched thousands of tis."
"Yeah, but that fool is so silly. He’s probably still in the study, searching like an idiot. When Hao returns tomorrow, I’ll definitely get Hao to take a good look at that fool."

It then dawned on him: That woman had touched the light switch! He had foolishly followed her instruction to turn off the light as he left, walking right into her trap!
Rage boiled in Zhuge Feng’s heart. Once the red spots faded, he would return to the Shangguan Family’s study, hide in the shadows, and find an opportunity to get his revenge. Others always suffered at his hands; this was the first ti he had been so thoroughly outwitted. There was no way he could swallow this insult!
