"Thank you, Senior," Shen Po said to Shangguan You.
Shangguan You snorted coldly and once again fixed her gaze on the wall to the left. The wall on the left was twice as thick as the one on the right. Behind it, a mass of green plants continuously struck the wall with their branches and leaves.
Were these plants alive? Shangguan You sucked in a cold breath again. Insects to the right, living plants to the left... what secrets was the Shen Family hiding?
Suddenly, a cluster of large flowers appeared before her, moving at an uncanny speed. As the flower approached, sensing the myriad branches and leaves, all the plants halted their assault. Then, a large mouth opened in the center of the flower, swallowing an abundance of branches and leaves whole.
Shangguan You could clearly sense the flower consuming countless branches and leaves. It let out a satisfied belch before quickly vanishing from sight. The mont the Man-Eating Flower disappeared, the branches and leaves resud their attack on the wall, reverting to their previous behavior.
"Heavens! Man-Eating Flowers! Man-Eating Flowers!" Shangguan You murmured. How could such a thing exist underneath the Shen Mansion? Why was it here? What lay behind all these walls, and where did they lead?
"Man-Eating Flower?" Shen Po echoed, looking at Shangguan You, who was clad in black. Although he couldn’t see her expression, he could sense her shock. This indicated to him that she could see through the wall to the scene behind it.
"Grandfather, there are Man-Eating Flowers behind this wall? How is that possible?" Shen Cheng exclaid in disbelief. How could there be Man-Eating Flowers behind the wall, growing underground, and a hundred ters down at that? It was ridiculous.
"It can’t be wrong," Shen Po murmured, sinking into recollection.
Shangguan You cast a glance at the two n but paid them no mind. Whether they believed it or not, this secret chamber must not be found by those with ulterior motives; otherwise, disaster would ensue. Shangguan You’s gaze shifted to the wall ahead once more. Her sight pierced through its layers, revealing a pitch-black cavern beyond. It was utter darkness. Despite her excellent vision, she couldn’t make out what lay there.
Shangguan You shook her head and glanced back the way they had co. She couldn’t help but admire the route Shen Cheng and Shen Po had taken—they had chosen the safest path. Nothing lay on their route except layers of earth. Again, she was impressed by Shen Cheng’s good fortune.
"Senior, I wonder what’s behind this wall?" Shen Po’s somber voice asked.
"It’s pitch black. I can’t see what it is," Shangguan You replied coldly.
"Then, Senior, please look again—underground and above our heads?" Shen Po said, his brows deeply furrowed.
"You know what this place is?" Shangguan You raised an eyebrow, asking Shen Po curiously.
"Please look first, Senior. Only then will I know if it’s that place. If it truly is that place..." Shen Po said, trailing off.
"Mm," Shangguan You nodded. Her gaze once again penetrated the ground beneath them, delving into the depths. There, she clearly saw coffins, one after another, and the people inside them. Her body involuntarily shuddered. Good heavens, it was a burial ground below them, and they were all Crystal Coffins!
She could clearly see the people underground and make out their features. Shangguan You was montarily stunned. What was this place? Who could tell her?
"Senior, did you see seven Crystal Coffins, and seven people in them?" Shen Po’s somber words ca again, his complexion ashen. Shangguan You could distinctly feel him trembling slightly.
"That’s correct," Shangguan You nodded, her gaze once again scrutinizing the scene. Seven Crystal Coffins? But why did I only see six, and only six people?
"There are only six Crystal Coffins. They are all n, and their bodies are very well preserved," Shangguan You stated gravely.
"Correct. You should add the one in Senior’s hand; that makes seven. Yes," Shen Po murmured.
"Senior, please look above our heads again," Shen Po urged.
Without Shen Po needing to prompt her, Shangguan You’s gaze had already penetrated the ceiling. Above, gold shone brilliantly, with countless shimring golden insects weaving through it.
"Above, is it gold and golden insects?" Before Shangguan You could speak, Shen Po had already asked.
"Mm. That’s right," Shangguan You replied with a nod, affirming Shen Po’s words. If he could describe it so accurately, he must know what this place is.
I never imagined they could find this place and build the Shen Mansion above it, Shen Po mumbled to himself, trembling slightly, whether from excitent or fear. It’s truly unimaginable... that the legend was real, that such a place actually exists?
"Grandfather, what exactly is going on? What is this place? Why was the Shen Mansion built over it?" Shen Cheng grew increasingly confused the more he listened, prompting him to voice his question. And in those three places, legend says there are countless treasures protected by powerful barriers. To pass through those places and reach the final destination, one must..." Shen Po’s brow remained furrowed as he spoke, seeming lost in thought. Shangguan You was all ears, listening intently.
