"There’s no escape now, Ye Shao, stop." Shangguan You watched as the originally azure water droplets relentlessly pursued them. Water columns, continuously forming from their surroundings, blocked their path. The path they had just taken was now sealed, leaving them no retreat.
They were trapped amidst a sea of azure droplets, with a pitch-black expanse below, its nature unknown.
"If we can’t escape, we’ll destroy it," Ye Shao snorted coldly, his body plunging towards the dark abyss below. Shangguan You quickly followed, channeling her Spiritual Energy into her hands and attacking the darkness.
A scorching aura surged from her right wrist, where the purple bracelet suddenly materialized. Normally, though she could feel its presence, it remained unseen by anyone and would not manifest. But now, it had inexplicably appeared?
It emitted a purple glow that enveloped Shangguan You completely. The surging water columns around them slowly dissipated. The pitch-black object then flew towards Shangguan You at a speed invisible to the naked eye, rging with the purple light emanating from her. In an instant, a purple and black glow enveloped her, and then, just as suddenly, her figure vanished.
Ye Shao froze, watching the dark object fly towards Shangguan You. He wanted to stop it but found himself unable to move. He could only stare, wide-eyed, as the object entered her body before she vanished.
With a loud THUD, Shangguan You reappeared before Ye Shao, but she had fainted. Her eyes were tightly shut, her body falling amidst the azure water bubbles. Ye Shao reached out, catching her unconscious form. A hint of confusion flickered in his deep eyes. What exactly was happening?
The purple glow from earlier? Where did the black object go? Her sudden disappearance and reappearance? What on earth was going on?
anwhile, the azure space around them began to fade, receding bit by bit, as the surrounding scenery slowly sharpened into focus.
Ye Shao, still holding Shangguan You, suddenly materialized before Zhuge Feng. They stood in the middle of a small lake, drenched to the bone, Shangguan You completely unconscious. Ye Shao’s eyes flickered, stunned as he looked at the unconscious Shangguan You.
If not for the lingering pain on his lips from when Shangguan You had bitten him, he would have thought all of this was just an illusion. The abyss they had just encountered indicated that they had never left this small lake.
"Shangguan You! How is she?" Zhuge Feng exclaid upon seeing them suddenly appear. He quickly dropped what was in his hand, abandoning his efforts to dig in the lake. He hurried towards them. The lake water, initially only shin-deep, was now rising steadily.
"She has fainted." Ye Shao tightened his hold on her, avoided Zhuge Feng’s outstretched hand, and gave him a cold glance before striding out of the small lake with Shangguan You in his arms.
Zhuge Feng’s eyes, glistening with moisture, flickered as he observed Ye Shao’s powerful aura. Clenching his fists, he quickly followed. The mont they stepped out of the small lake, water surged back in, quickly restoring its usual depth and serene appearance.
It was as if nothing had happened; everything returned to its forr state.
"How is she?" Zhuge Feng asked, looking at the soaking-wet Shangguan You as Ye Shao carefully placed her into a bathtub. He watched as the warm water gradually restored color to her pale face.
"She just fainted. Get out," Ye Shao said coldly, glancing at Zhuge Feng and motioning for him to leave. He intended to help Shangguan You change.
"No way! Even though she’s fainted, you can’t take advantage of her—not unless I’m dead! Even if you saved her, you can’t do this!" Zhuge Feng retorted, glaring at Ye Shao. He saved her, but that doesn’t give him the right to take advantage of her while she’s unconscious! Besides, there are plenty of female attendants here. He can wake them to help Shangguan You change. Ye Shao wants to do it himself? Dream on! I, Zhuge Feng, will not allow it!
Ye Shao’s eyes narrowed dangerously as he stared at Zhuge Feng, a murderous intent emanating from him. She’s my woman; of course, I can change her clothes. Does this youngster think he can snatch my woman from ?
"Ye Ying," Ye Shao called out coldly. Instantly, Ye Ying’s dark figure reappeared beside him.
"Throw him out."
"Yes, sir," Ye Ying responded. With a swift movent, he gripped Zhuge Feng’s shoulders. Zhuge Feng tried to dodge, but Ye Ying’s icy gaze seed to possess a paralyzing magic. He could only watch helplessly as Ye Ying approached and effortlessly lifted him.
This sense of powerlessness washed over again, Zhuge Feng thought, feeling utterly helpless, unable even to attempt an evasion.
With a soft WHIMPER, Shangguan You’s eyes fluttered open. She saw Ye Shao’s hands on her, about to undress her, while Ye Ying held Zhuge Feng, ready to throw him out. Her gaze turned icy as she glanced at Ye Shao, making him freeze. His hand, poised to unbutton her clothes, stopped.
"You’re awake."
"Mhm," Shangguan You acknowledged, her eyes naturally falling on Ye Shao’s hand on her chest, silently telling him to remove it.
"Since you’re awake, you can do it yourself," Ye Shao said with a roguish smirk, reluctantly removing his hand. If it weren’t for this Zhuge Feng, I would have succeeded by now, he thought.
"Let him go," Shangguan You said coolly, glancing at Ye Ying. Ye Ying loosened his grip on Zhuge Feng and, after a look at Ye Shao, vanished from the room once more.
