"What’s going on, Lorraine??" Jasmine panicked, Nicole threw her a look as she walked out of the kitchen with an apple in her hand.
Nicole sat on the couch, watching Jasmine pace around, talking to Lorraine, Nicole made a ntal note to ask how co the two of them were still in contact after so many years of him disappearing on her.
With a strained voice, Lorraine bitterly complained. More like whining," I was kidnapped and beaten by your insane husband who—"
Jasmine cut his words the minute he called Kingsley ’insane’. "Point of correction, Lorraine, my husband is not insane!" Jasmine stood close to the window, glaring outside.
Lorraine grumbled inaudibly before continuing. "Well, he had n beat up and after that, he threatened to leave the country in three days else he would ruin . Jasmine, please help ."
Jasmine was confused at that point, she didn’t understand when and how that happened. "I am a little confused here, Kingsley kidnapped you, assigned n to beat you up, and then tell you to leave the country else he will deal with you??"
Her statent made Nicole pause in her movents as she raised her eyes to look at Jasmine whose back was turned to her.
’Is Jasmine’s husband a psycho??’ Nicole curiously wondered if that wasn’t too much on the poor Lorraine.
Lorraine beca even more upset. "Do not rephrase the statent, he did not ’tell’ to leave the country, he THREATENED to leave the country and also, he did not say he was going to ’Deal’ with if I refused, he promised to RUIN . Use my exact words." Lorraine sighed at the end, totally lost.
Jasmine humd, her brows creasing as her lips ford into a thin line, for a mont, she didn’t know what to say.
Kingsley couldn’t be this insensitive, right?? He wouldn’t do this type of thing to a man.
"What did you do?? How did you involve yourself with Kingsley?" Jasmine probed further but her questions sounded ridiculous to Lorraine.
"Are you seriously asking that?? Do you think I’d want to associate myself with that husband of yours?? Hell no." Lorraine refuted with a sarcastic edge in his voice.
Jasmine rubbed her forehead, perplexed by this ssage from Lorraine. "Then, why would he just take you into his custody and beat you up out of the blue??"
Lorraine beca agitated as he explained. "He said for to run for my life if I see you, according to him, I should disappear like a ghost if you call my na, or else,I’ll be dancing with the devil..." Lorraine gritted his teeth. "I almost peed my pants when he stared down at with those manipulative eyes."
After his words, Jasmine couldn’t say anything. She lost her words as she stood there dumbstruck. It took her a few more minutes to register all he had just said.
The first thing that ca to her head was,’ Is Kingsley insecure?? Jealous?’
It took Jasmine ti to think about Kingsley’s action but it still didn’t make sense to her. Why would he tell Lorraine to stay away from her??
’Now, he is crossing the line.’ Jasmine’s face tightened, she didn’t appreciate Kingsley interfering in her affairs this way. It was her business and Lorraine was her business, not his!
"Hello? Are you there??" Lorraine called out, pulling Jasmine out of her sea of thoughts.
"Oh, yeah yeah. Look, I’m sorry,I’ll get back to you when I talk with him about this because honestly, I’m so shocked that he would do such a thing to you." Jasmine persuaded. Her eyes dimd slowly, she couldn’t wait to call Kingsley and rebuke him for this action he carried out without her consent.
Yes, she was still mad at Lorraine for ditching her years ago but she never told Kingsley to get so sort of revenge on her behalf on Lorraine!
"Please, I do not want any more troubles with him or have him co over to my apartnt to cut off my limps." Lorraine pleaded. "Just tell him to stay away from , I do not want trouble, I just ca here to work."
Jasmine humd before ending the call. She ran her hand through her long hair before scratching, trying to suppress her annoyance.
Nicole chewed on her apple while asking. "What Lorraine is that?? Sa Lorraine we both know?"
Jasmine sighed before making a 160-degree turn to face Nicole, she sluggishly nodded as she walked towards the nearest couch and dumped herself there. "Yeah, sa Lorraine."
Nicole raised her left brow. "He suddenly ca back and you both are already in talking terms?? I thought you were mad at him for ditching you when you both were still at the peak of your love."
Jasmine slumped her shoulder. "Well, my dad invited him to work in the company, I know it wasn’t that simple so I asked Lorraine and he told that my dad wants him to Snatch away from Kingsley."
"That’s a bold move from your father’s end." Nicole complinted. "Maybe that riled Mr Elm so he beat Lorraine up that badly." She grimaced before laughing. "And I think I like that part."
Jasmine rolled her eyes. "Just like you never liked Jack, you also don’t like Lorraine."
"I always know the jerks." Nicole praised narcissistically. Taking another bite from her apple again, she questioned. "What are you going to do about Mr Elm now?"
Jasmine swings her phone before deciding. "I’m gonna give him a call right away." With that, Jasmine got off the couch and matched outside the house to call Kingsley in private.
She stood close to the garden at the left corner of the house, she waited for him to answer the call which he did almost imdiately, as if he was waiting for her call the whole day.
"Madam Elm." Kingsley’s teasing voice ca from the other end, the way he dragged his words made Jasmine frown. That was so unlike his usual calm deanor.
"Are you alright?" Jasmine asked, forgetting her major purpose of calling. She had planned to imdiately start to scold him, rant about how he shouldn’t have touched Lorraine, she was prepared to yell at him if care wasn’t taken.
Kingsley chuckled instead before drawing out again. "Yeah...I am alright." He replied, his eyes moving around the various new packs of drugs his doctor recomnded, they were all sealed in transparent bags.
He took so pills barely minutes ago when he was feeling upset and now, he could feel his head almost falling off, his heart ripping apart and breathing was becoming difficult.
